      She grew up in war. She trained to get that Aim. One question: Why do the Scouts, which use the ODM-gear; always hit their target or the have "aimbot" with the gear? Ah yes. They trained it. They learned it by heart. So did Gabi. But to say atleast, shooting a gun is much easier than using ODM-gear. So in those few years of training she learned quickly how to aim. Thats why she is so good at it.

    I like the format, but I disagree. Gabi is needed. Reiner is a character explanation of why he did what he did, while Gabi is a conduit of the message. Reiner can't be the message because by the time he realized his mistake it was already way too late. And even if it was, focusing on that in particular also serves the purpose to make sure the message is perceived right, because people still didn't and don't understand it with Eren. Gabi makes it clear what the intention was.
    Sure you can like Eren, everyone should, he's not meant for you to necessarily hate him (if anything he was almost written to be dislikeable from the very start with constant yelling). Supporting him and liking/hating his character are 2 very different things.

    • @waqasomar8272
      @waqasomar8272 Рік тому +31

      To add on, Gabis perspective is a lot more direct than Reiners, since we see his side mostly from flashbacks as well as that her hatred was always a lot stronger than Reiners since he mainly became a warrior for his family while Gabi hates Paradis much more. With Falco obviously not being able to fill this role unless you just re-write his personality.
      Add on with the fact that they are children and Attack on Titans whole theme on the future generation its building upon much more than before. We see they're both really necessary

    Gabi will never be Eren’s counterpart. Eren was not indoctrinated, all of his views he built upon himself even if it made him an outcast as a child, by going against the “social rules” of staying inside the walls living like cattle, seeing the horror of the scouts coming back in pieces. Even when the rest of the town, who were the “worst” of humanity in Paradis so they were forced to live in a titan trap of the outer wall) didnt even support them; he was the outcast of the outcast, he went against the current following his own ideals of right and wrong in pursuit of freedom, even after failing time and time again. Gabi didn‘t do any thinking for herself, just obeyed and followed the social norms with the support of her family, even if she was “lesser” of a human because she was an Eldian, Gabi was part of a community that supported her and was never treated as a tool for rising up the social ladder by her parents (who both survived, may I add), and she never fails anything, making her unrelatable. Seeing the “mirroring” scene of the hair tying saying tatakae, honestly made me cringe. Falco would have been a better “counterpart” because you can see him as a flawed human from the start, like a real kid. Gabi never even missed a shot, I see Falco doing it and it feeling more human.

      Eren was indoctrinated by society to hate and avoid Titans, which turns out to be people, their people. Her parallel with Eren is not 1 by 1 Eren carbon copy, it's the circunstances of her hatred that is similar to Eren's. Those circunstantes happened exactly because of that hatred being born into another individual, creating the hatred cycle. This is even more important if you remember what happens to Gabi is Eren's fault, as he did with her what Reiner and company did with him (and we learn Eren did it to himself but that's stupid and I won't talk about it).

    Gabi is the hope for the new generation - born into the conflict between Marley and Paradis and killing for her supposed side, but when in Paradis, she meets the family of the woman she killed, and her preconceptions of the "Island Devils" is broken again and again. Even the friends of the woman she killed rush to defend her because at the end of the day, she is just a child, and ought to be allowed to live free from the conflicts of past generations. Essentially, if she mirrors Eren in season 1, she symbolises Eren's friends stopping another child from going down the same path as him, and in the end Gabi gets to live a peaceful life with Falco, just as Mikasa and Eren could have done if things were different.

    Reiners story was one which wasn't showed directly at all and pretty much showed him as a scared character being put in the lead. Gabi plays the role of showing what an average marelean would be like in this situation and also shows the process of learning the truth of the other side and becoming equal. This is the biggest idea attack on Titan constantly tries to put forward about learning perspective and how to become equal when faced against a greater threat. Falco is a good character butcontradicts this narrative of differences a lot and acts like everyone is equal before anything happend for him to act like that. He's smart but ultimately is a hole in the story of the process of understanding each other.

    This is a weird video because you’d essentially be rewriting Falco at his core. And it’s even weirder you acknowledge the dynamic that Gabi and Falco need to function for the story.
    Plus from the start we’re told that Gabi shows initiate and has been working much harder than all her peers to get as skilled as she is.
    Aimbot Gabi is comical but it makes perfect sense for a character who takes initiative and who has extensive training to be skilled with a gun. It makes the Alliance as a whole well rounded to have an expert marksman (Gabi) and have Falco be the Jaw Titan. You can’t have one person be both because basic story writing is that instead of making one character with all the skills you allocate them between several characters to give them purpose.
    It’s even weirder to criticize Gabi having a complete character arc. A character can be actualized and still have a role in the story. Which is why killing off Gabi early is weirder because the whole point of Gabi’s character was her character arc in contrast to Eren who we wouldn’t be able to see completed if she well, died.

    I'm always surprised to hear that the anti-Gabi narrative is still alive amongst the fanbase and viewers, ESPECIALLY after Season 4 Part 1. Gabi helps encapsulate the theme of the cycle of vengeance and "Getting the children out of the forest". I think its meant to be ridiculous that a child of her age is so capable, she has literally been bred for war all her life. The story, especially once Marley and the new Warrior candidates are introduced, presents itself purposefully as being anti-military; the fact that this child who is so bloodlust and ready to kill for the sake of just killing the 'island devils' isnt just commentary on brainwashing, but the fact that the adults are so willing to strip the innocence of children and pass on their own agendas, never letting the children simply be children. She really helps push forward the commentary made by Sasha's dad, being a direct archetype for why children should be shielded from the horrors of the world, allowing their innocence to prevail and not passing on your own generational traumas.

    i mean if you want to make the point that some of the stuff she does is bs like get onto the airship or always make her headshots i’d understand but it is an anime.
    the other stuff i just don’t get. her character is meant to be annoying and brash. her arc isn’t pointless really, it’s the entire message of the show. our lack of understanding and tunnel vision on vengeance leaves us in the circle of hate that we exist in. gabi is one of the rare marleyans that comes to understand this truth so her turn to good isn’t out of nowhere. i don’t think her character was meant to be likeable at the end just understandable. i feel like you just found her annoying so you think she’s a bad character.

      Every titan has a special skill and it just so happens that the female titan was designed to be extra adaptable. The female titan’s special skill is that she can mimic the special skills of other titans by consuming their flesh. I think her hardening ability came from the armored titan and her scream came from the beast titan.
      The reason why that was even brought up by Gabi and Falco was that Falco got a glimpse of the memories of other beast titans. If he had transformed normally, he’d only see the memories of the previous jaw titans, but since it was Zeke’s spinal fluid that transformed Falco, he could see the memories of both the beast and jaw titans. One of the memories he saw was soaring above clouds, hinting at a previous beast titan being able to fly. And Falco himself felt like flying was something he was capable of. He assumed that his situation would allow him to “upgrade” himself like the female titan could. That’s how he got his new titan form. He was essentially a beast titan with a bird form with the added bonus of a hardened beak from his jaw titan.
      That’s basically it.

    Thinking through your rewrite, I want to take it one step further. Maybe I'm forgetting the impact of early season 4 Gabi and Falco but I kinda wish their charaters were swapped in your rewrite. The Eren clone of Marley being a reckless boy and then dying like Eren did (but not being brought back) really hits the mirroring that early season 4 was. Having Colt's younger sibling being a girl doesn't ruin his interaction with Zeke when he war cries. And Gabi could just be named Robin if we want to keep the bird name scheme.
    Having the surviving child being a girl who maybe was smitten for the Eren clone also has value as a foil to Mikasa. We get to see what a young Mikasa who is smart and competent does without their Eren as a captive on Paradise.
    To tie this arc into being free as a bird, maybe after their transformation into the Jaw Bird we have them overcome their hatred of whoever killed Falco and work with them to defeat Eren. I like the idea of giving Connie something to do and it isn't unrealistic for him to instantly return fire on Falco in response to Sasha dying. Or if we don't mind Mikasa getting their hands bloody after trying to talk to Eren at the war hammer fight, then we get an actual relationship between Gabi and Mikasa.

    You've left out a lot in terms of Gabi's role. Particularly in Kaya and the Braus family storylines.
    It's wild that you prefer Falco going by himself to Paradis is better than going with Gabi. It'd be one thing to send him with another character, but by himself? Wouldn't that be boring?
    It's necessary to have Gabi dragging Falco around and being a motivation for him. The rewrite you offered is god awful, truly. Firstly, because it's contrived, you want Falco to just "stumble across Levi talking with Zeke"... and then run into Sasha and kill her. That's lazy writing. Falco just happens to run into Zeke and Levi and then just happend to run into Sasha and kill her. And then you want Sasha to be killed by Falco, for nothing but dumb luck. And again, all of this is just Falco running around wordless by himself. Falco is not the type of character who can carry a scene by themselves, he's just an innocent, reserved kid with very little to say.
    Your suggestions are atrocious, this is just terrible writing. No hyperbole.

      I initially hated Gabi after she killed Sasha too, but then I realised that was just a knee-jerk reaction after seeing Gabi was as much a victim as anyone else. I feel like Gabi is a litmus test to check if a person would be a victim of the cycle of hatred if they were in the AoT universe. People put aside the circumstances (brainwashed child soldier on the other side of the war, Sasha being an accomplice to a _literal massacre_ of Gabi's hometown, etc.) and just want to throw a hissy fit towards her, even in spite of her character development.
      Gabi's now my 2nd favourite character in AoT (1st being Erwin).

      @Shuruia Рік тому +3

      @@berbk Yep! Reiner set it all in motion, killed way more people, and held on to his hate for Eldians for way longer than Gabi, yet we all still pity Reiner too. It only took Gabi one month to break free from what Reiner needed years to also do. She might not be completely mentally sound, but Gabi being more sane and forgiving to Eldians than Reiner seems to be well established at this point.

    • @Shuruia
      @Shuruia Рік тому +2

      @ber bk I knew you were going to say that about Reiner. I agree 100% since it's actually an argument _for_ what I said, not against.
      Also to reiterate what I said in another thread, Reiner's very first interaction with Paradisians was knocking the wall down and seeing them run in fear from him. He then infiltrated the military and had them as comrades for years, but still clung to the idea of Eldians being a dirty race by the time he decided Marco had to die.
      Gabi's first interaction with Paradisians was the complete opposite, with Eren massacring the plaza, Armin nuking the port, and Sasha blowing the brains out of the gate guard right in front of Gabi. It's just simply not that farfetched to see why she acted the way she did initially. She's not as complex as Reiner by virtue of her being introduced later and having less screen time, but the expression of her journey and the same doubts she started having are different since people also simply show them in different ways. And that's okay. Other than the former point already being established, the expression of Gabi's own journey was shaped by her own differing circumstances.
      Obviously it's not purely down to a matter of character complexity (otherwise people would hate Falco instead, which obviously isn't the case), but just a lack of character perspective after the initial first impressions.

    • @Shuruia
      @Shuruia Рік тому +2

      @scary_monster014 I never said people hate Falco. As for people hating Gabi because she killed Sasha, that just goes back to an earlier point in that it shows they'd also be victims of the cycle of hatred. I don't see it as being that deep, either. It is only as deep as you make it out to be. Think there might be a bit of projection there. It's only after accepting audience privilege of knowing all the facts (Gabi, in universe, does not) that Gabi killing Sasha makes perfect sense if you're looking at it purely through logic and not emotional attachment to any involved character.
      Saying Falco invalidates Gabi's arc because he got it from the start is like saying Gabi invalidates Reiner's arc because she got it in just a month rather than years. People are receptive to evolving circumstances in different ways. That's just the simple truth of it. If you don't like Gabi just because of some broad reason like "she's annoying", then that's fine. Saying that Falco invalidates her arc is just disingenuous, and I invite you to push the envelope of that argument.

    • @Shuruia
      @Shuruia Рік тому +2

      @scary_monster014 Falco saving the Federation soldier served to single him out as a character rather than anyone else. It was to show that he was the only one in his unit willing to do something like that. In war, it would be a strange and uncommon occurrence. Gabi's reaction wasn't too far removed from the norm in that regard, but it did indeed serve to set up the initial impressions we're meant to have on the building blocks of her character. She is _meant_ to have a bit of narcissism and selfishness since the eventual shedding of these vices are what make character development worth it in the first place. We see her start out as insufferably jingoistic and hold views contrary to the knowledge we have as the audience, only for her to shed these negative points as more of the same knowledge we hold becomes available to her. The other Warriors were the same, just not as explicitly shown since they already had years to deprogram and had multiple seasons for the mystery to unravel rather than Gabi's one. When Reiner met with Eren under Willy's stage, Eren specifically held Falco up as the shining example of what he saw as "good" on the other side of the sea. None of the Marleyans or Eldians bothered to save that Federation soldier, except Falco. No one bothered to stand up for the shellshocked veterans Eren was with. It was only Falco. Falco was specifically meant to be this exception from the beginning, and Gabi isn't the only one in the equation pitted against him. I wouldn't be so quick to reduce a Gabi hate talking point down to "no one likes a narcissist" when Gilgamesh is consistently one of Fate's most loved characters, even though he's an _enormous_ asshole.
      With the exception of Falco and Colt, we don't know the extent of how "brainwashed" the rest of her unit is since they all die before they get any time to shine. For all we know, they might have hidden some extreme expressions about Paradisians that would come to light once the chips are down. If we were to set Reiner and Bertholdt as the standard, then Gabi would _still_ be one of the better ones in terms of decoupling from the programming, regardless of how the rest of her unit actually felt about it.
      For Gabi killing Sasha, revenge can merely be seen as a secondary concept to the fact that Gabi and Sasha are both soldiers in opposing sides of a war. Regardless of Gabi's genuine feelings on Sasha being party to a literal massacre of her hometown, she's a highly trained candidate for a special forces unit that actively made the decision to pursue her nation's enemies. It was not the most tactically sound choice, as Magath wanted to express during Marley's own raid on Paradis, but it is still in line with her duty as a soldier. Gabi did not just attempt to shoot Sasha, after all. In the grand scheme of things, Sasha is not special since she's just one regular soldier. It was explicitly shown that she went for a shot on Jean as well (with both Jean and Gabi being saved by Falco at the last second), and ultimately would have attempted to bring down as many of the Survey Corps as possible. The great risk Gabi took to destroy the armoured train in the first episode of that season set two precedents. The first was that she had the balls to do something like that to begin with, and the second was that she might actually have been able to pull something of that calibre off after first making the attempt. With what little Marley knew of the circumstances on Paradis with Eren & Zeke, Marley would ultimately see such a result as beneficial. Magath wasn't around to give her the order, but he was perfectly content with her risking her life walking into a no-man's land with zero support. Precedents were already established at this point.
      Gabi being a soldier does not invalidate any feelings she might have on the war since soldiers are not robots, they are living humans with their own views and emotions. The ideal soldier _would_ act like a robot, and would respond to everything in a cold & calculating manner, but a soldier in fiction being written to the contrary does not equate to bad writing. Levi torturing the Abnormal in the OVA was unprofessional of him as a soldier, but he was still relatively new in the Corps and wasn't numb to loss yet. That was his human side. If anything, Gabi being written to be an unfeeling soldier with no wishes of revenge or even any semblance of proactive behaviour in the story would make her a worse character. It would certainly make her a less controversial character, yes, but a boring one with no stand out role in the story.
      Like I said, it's fine if you hate Gabi because of her shitty personality (even though she loses it rather quickly) since that's ultimately down to personal preference, but Gabi's writing really isn't that bad if you get into the nitty gritty of it. If you really want to go after a character for bad writing and inconsistencies, Annie is your best bet. Isayama _really_ dropped the ball with Annie in the Rumbling arc.

    Gabi's whole character is supposed to show how one can be brainwashed at a young age but can also grow out of said brainwashing, Gabi shot Sasha because of this brainwashing, Gabi shot Sasha because that's what she thought was right to do which it wasn't. Since Gabi shot Sasha that led to Nicolo getting upset at the restaurant and to try and hit Gabi with the wine bottle but he accidentally hits Falco instead forcing Zekes spinal fluid to go into Falcos mouth which leads into when Zeke and Eren try to touch and begin the Rumbling Colt tries to save his brother which fails and Falco gets turned into a pure Titan which also leads into Falco's pure Titan form to eat Gilliard and give Falco the Jaw Titan
    (Attack on Titan last episode Spoilers ahead!!)
    Since Falco got the Jaw Titan he got to lead the Alliance to Erens Founding Titan giving them the opportunity to make a plan then finish off Eren and stop The Rumbling. not to mention that Gabi shot the Opkai Titan to give Mikasa a chance to save Armin.

  • @emmanuelferguson
    @emmanuelferguson 11 місяців тому +2

    I don't think she's as bad as everyone says and that she serves a pretty unique role in delivering us a different perspective. I don't find Reiner's story sympathetic at all, but rather admirable that he would stick with his duty and through trials and tribulations redeem himself by doing what he believes is right until the end. The same goes for Eren, he had his own idea of what was right or rather his own moral code to follow which was setting up a future for his friends as well as him being a slave to freedom. As for Gabi, she didn't have that nearly at all, she had vehemently hated the demons of Paradis island on a personal level which was unlike the other two where Reiner did it out of duty and Eren grew up having a hate for titans, but later enacted his plan without it being so fueled by hate for a specific group. So in this way we got to see an actual character grow on a very personal level and overcome her hate of which is a very observable battle where as the other two were more or less given justification or reasoning behind their actions that we come to either sympathize it or rationalize. Not just that, but it also gave us an opportunity to see the content of the other characters on full display, setting up Connie for his moral dilemma and giving more characters involvement for the later parts where they either forgive each other or come to terms with the situation over a campfire before they raid the dock.

Also Colt wouldn't have turned Eren's head into a football, as Marley wanted to capture him, not kill. Only her would've done the deed.

    If I was the one to rewrite AOT, Eren would have eaten Annie, Zeke would have been eaten by Eren, Reiner would have been eaten by Armin, Bertholdt would have been eaten by a random pure titan that would join the Scouts, Pieck would've been slayed by Mikasa instantly.
    Then they would give Eren the ultimate power, that he would use to say to the World: "F*ck you, I'll let Marley survive this time, but next feet on Paradis and you're all gone, also, I brainwashed all my friends and nobody in my team will betray me now."
    The End.

      @Gaby_did_everything_wrong1 I'm not a manga reader, honestly. But I am aware of the changes the anime made because it interested me. Yes, they showed her, but like Isayama, they did not really complete her arc. She should have hopped on Falco to "see how it ends."

    I hated Gabi the first two times I watched the show, but after my third watch I understand her necessity and I actually appreciate it. Her arc is not the same as we’ve seen before. Reiner had nowhere near the same arc as her.

  • @Jasmine-ct4uh
    @Jasmine-ct4uh 6 місяців тому

    She was definitely way too convenient for the plot. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her or her ability to snipe, after all this same anime has the overpowered Ackermans. Gabi was introduced as someone who was excellent in her abilities. I think it’s just frustrating that her skills are only used as a device for making shocking things happen.
    I can see the appeal of the whole Gabi and Sasha conflict. It’s an important message. But I don’t think it was important enough to take away from everything else going on at that moment. The message that we can learn to understand others despite conflicts and differences is something like, literally every other character displays in a unique way. Eren shows this understanding, but still chooses to fight the enemies. The scouts understand this message too, and choose to work with their enemies. Reiner and the other warriors go through this understanding as well.
    I think with more time Gabi could’ve been great, but they just didn’t have the time to develop her, therefore they really could’ve just scrapped her. Everything she achieved could have been explored in a different, more developed character.
    And tbh, I don’t even think Falco was necessary either… off the top of my head the only thing he was useful for was flying, which you know, they could have kept the plane for. They didn’t HAVE to make the plane break down, they just did it so Falco could fly…
    In a season that’s already packed with lots of new information, adding in new characters and trying to force them to be as relevant and developed as the rest of the cast just didn’t work that well imo.

    No. I strongly disagree. Gabi is a great character regardless if she killed Sasha. She redeemed herself. If you are pointing out moments of her being at the right place at the right time then you need to do that for the entire series. Do you know how many times the main cast were in a situation where they were about to get killed by a titan, and suddenly here comes Levi, Mikasa or Falco with WINGS to save the day. Like, cmon man. This is an anime after all. Gabi’s arc was way more compelling than Reiner’s arc.

    I feel like if AoT ended at the rumbling Gabi would be much better
    She starts out as a mirror to Eren, but grows beyond him emotionally, then at the end of her arc she proves this by killing Eren and preventing the apocallypse.
    The problem with this of course is that AoT isn't designed to end before the rumbling (though personally I could've gone without a lot of what happens in that arc)

    • @zant527
      @zant527 Рік тому

      The Rumbling was completely unnecessary.

    • @zant527
      @zant527 11 місяців тому

      @Sociopathyyyy000 It's such an idiotic unnecessary edgy plot by Isayama. Nothing elaborate nor interesting. No point writing an apocalypse when you don't let your audience develop a genuine attachment to the Rumbling's target world. A lame plot. Just Isayama's mental issues. Not to mention how stupid and illogical it is, only proving the world's fears correct. Even attacking Liberio is stupid, since Zeke planned it expecting a "global allied fleet" to gather about a month later, all based on assumptions that conveniently happen. Forced narrative. All you have to do is surround the stupid island with Wall Titans and use them to defend. Only idiots and delusional Floch stans think Eren did the Rumbling "for the island" or "for his friends", when there's every single other way to deal with those. He just did it because of a stupid plot around Armin's book and Eren's selfish disappointment. Not even real negotiations were ever attempted by Paradis. Lame story. Isayama was never capable of writing politics. No wonder he only writes military.
      The Rumbling is worthless and edgy bad writing, as well as the most boring apocalypse ever due to the fact we were never allowed to become attached to the world. Zeke's plan at least didn't drag an entire planet along with his plan. And no, Subjects of Ymir aren't a race. Being descendants of Ymir and King Fritz, and having the ability to turn into monsters from a supernatural and parasitic anomaly doesn't make you an ethnicity. Anyone can become a so-called "Eldian" by being born from just one parent descending from Ymir, not even both parents. Eldia and Marley were never races to begin with. Nationalities. Both countries have always been multiethnic imperialistic nations.
      Zeke's plan never "genocided" anything...it just prevented infected humans descendants of BOTH Eldia and Marley from reproducing, whilst the planet is left alone. Even the extincition is peaceful over Eren's barbarity. Eren's plan was the only genocide. Imagine that happening to our planet. To our cultures and histories, and to our animal species and natural places. All because of one mentally ill guy. Only bitter unhappy edgelords and children like it.
      All that aside, the only reason I call the Rumbling unnecessary is because its plot is just nonsensical (especially Ymir Fritz's motivation for doing it and her whole "free herself" bs) and nothing elaborate. Would've been better a more elaborate and grey story of a world war between Marley and Eldia making alliances with other countries and fighting each other. Not a lame pretentious drama. But at that point Isayama wanted to end the story as quickly as possible.

      @Viral_lagan_5780 Nonsense. All Ymir Fritz needs for her "liberation" bad writing bs is someone to have her get over her so-called love for Fritz. I will NEVER credit the end of the Titans to that damn Eren. Ever. It was all Ymir's mental problems and her inability to get over her obsession until somehow Mikasa came...what an absurd writing. Mikasa should've decapitated Eren right back during the raid on Liberio.

    "we hate gabi"
    Who is "WE"?
    "everyone hates gabi"
    Who is "EVERYONE"?
    She's one of the few characters to get a whole ass character arc that makes SENSE, holy shit.
    Eren's there saying he was doing the best for his friends while putting them in grave danger at every corner and killing two of them.
    Armin's accepting shared responsibility for Eren's actions because he said "it'd be cool to see nice stuff outside the walls" a few times as a kid
    Mikasa's kissing the decapitated head of a corpse of a dude who's repeatedly shafted her and put her in danger for daring to saving millions of people.
    This is all TRASH compared to where Gabi ended up and how we got there. Her unlearning all of Marley's propaganda and being a living example of the core theme of the show was PEAK. A fantastic journey that ended well. If you HATE Gabi, you deserve trash stories that suck ass.

    • @misterscorpius1446
      @misterscorpius1446 11 місяців тому +1

      Reiner and Eren are incomplete examples of the core lesson. Gabi is the peak of it. It's taken all the way to completion.

    • @misterscorpius1446
      @misterscorpius1446 11 місяців тому

      Also, the whole thing about her feats is boring. Do you realize how bullshit it is that Eren eventually completely perfected the balance with his ODM gear while it was purposely sabotaged? What he did was supposed to be challenging with perfectly functional gear and it was seen as impressive by other characters who assumed his gear operated as intended. I'm not even telling you to turn your brain off, this is just a world where truly and unbelievably talented people exist. Gabi, unlike Eren, was also chosen by an extremely selective process. She's SUPPOSED TO BE fucking cracked at all the shit she does.
      Falco also sucks at being the fill-in for Gabi because he has very little he has to learn and, again, this is who we want to have a completed version of Reiner and Eren's arcs. He holds almost none of the conflict they do. He's good at what he does in the story, we don't need to stretch him thin just because you're weird about the other naenae baby of Marley, Gabi.

      @Viral_lagan_5780 It, specifically the exact cable balancing set up of the ODM, is certainly physically possible. The insane level of balance and physical coordination from Eren is borderline unbelievable but still within the parameters of what's physically possible for a human IRL. Same with Gabi's shot. Both of these feats would put them in the 99.9999999 percentile of humans but it's still possible.

    I disagree that her part in Episode 70 was bad. Without her, I don't think the authors ideas would shine as bright... but I do agree that once she's redeemed, and had her revelation, then she's just there to shoot 1 bullet per fight sence, that just so happen to be extremely critical.
    Literally, the definition of does one important thing then leaves.

    I think Gabi is to show the innocence/ignorance of the hatred inputted into children growing up in war time, and the actions it could lead to. She was forced to grow up so fast and take actions and make decisions that adults should, though her thought process was influenced by
    1. trying to find favor from a group of people that hate her and her kind
    2. personal bias based on lies and hatred of herself/her kind.
