Thanks Tish! That dye is sooo vibrant!! Works great in resin too, just have to remember to start with a small amount since it’s water based. Great for when transparent colors are needed!
I was wondering how well the rustoleum paint work when creating cells. I have a couple cans. You most certainly answered that question!!! Beautiful piece!!💖💖💖
Tia Tay Thank you! Always happy to help! Just remember that you only need a small amount, otherwise the cells could dissipate! I only used a few drops in the amount of white I had.
Thanks! I do love Just Resin’s pigments! I apologize I didn’t include it in the video, but in case you do a swipe... I used a few drops of the oil-based rust-oleum in the white, and that’s what helps create the cells when the other colors are swiped over it. Can’t wait to see what you do!
Thanks Cherie! I love those dyes! I mainly added the two whites together because you want to use a very small amount of the oil based paint to maintain cell structure, and it wouldn’t be enough to be opaque like I wanted, so I added the paste.
Thank you! Yes! The colors need to be swiped over the ‘swipe color’, which was the white in this case. Thanks for watching! The swipe color for this is the Rust-oleum gloss enamel and the System Three mixed together. For more info on how to mix them, check this video starting out at about 1:10 ua-cam.com/video/kWhytYoaz_g/v-deo.html
Gorgeous! LOVE the cells! Did you mix a little paste & a little of the rustoleum together in the resin to make the white and if so, equal parts? Thanks!
Thanks! Yes, I did mix the rustoleum and white paste together in the resin. This is so I get an opaque white. It’s best to show you than explain, if you skip ahead to 2:54 in this video, you can see how much I use of the rustoleum, and the color I make the swipe color. ua-cam.com/video/2k8DpYmpt88/v-deo.html You’ll want to play around with how much rustoleum you add so that it’s the kind of swipe you like. I personally like when the cells are a bit more textured!
@@JOTZdesigns Perfect - thank you so much! I'm going to order the supplies right now. Hopefully, mine come out even half as beautiful and perfect as yours!

That is soooo beautiful ❤️❤️, did the cells come just from swiping?

Love those cells/ lacing! I need to get some of that Blue Diamond in my life 😁
Thank you so much! The blue diamond is amazing, for sure!!
Is that photo paper you are swiping with? This is gorgeous.
Thank you! It's actually freezer paper. It's the same as what is under the piece to protect the surface of my table.
WOW, beautiful work...what makes the cells?
Thank you! It’s a swipe using rust-oleum. All products are listed in the description for more detail!

I tried this with just epoxy resin for the colors and it didn't work. Is the key that one of the colors is the oil based acrylic?
