Incorrect. A bagpipe, but therefore not a Scots one! Any idea how many different types there are? Even Nero Caesar (yes, that Roman) played a bagpipe when he set Rome ablaze. Well, it was, one can't deny, far more epical that if he was playing a synthesizer or a piccolo, of course. I mean, think of Nero, standing atop his palace, watching the light show, as he plays Cu-Sith or Fields, Cait-Sith, or the Battle of Stirling. Quite damn Scots of that Roman, nae? I bet, that made his beard grow it's own beard!
Sept 2019 my grandson age 15 died, this was the entry tune as his coffin was carried into the church for his funeral - every time I hear this I am reminded of that day and the 450+ people who attended to pay their respects to him and say goodbye to him.
I suspect it's a genetic defect that shows up in audio processing in the brain that allows a person to enjoy bagpipes (I do). It seems to be prevalent among people with Celtic ancestry.
Dear Dark Isle Piper, I discovered your channel soon after my good wife, Kathleen, a Scot, passed away on St. Andrew's Day, 30th November, 2023, after several months of illness. We were married for 27 years, we lived in Lancashire but it was always her wish to return one day to her homeland Scotland. I'm sad that I couldn't make that happen in her lifetime but I had her repatriated for her funeral and burial in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire. I also arranged a piper to play a lament for her when her body was carried into the parish church. I was looking for a suitable piece and I chose Flowers of the Forest after searching UA-cam and discovered your wonderful performance of this piece and its majestic setting. It is nearly three months since she passed but in that time I have listened to your performance over and over again, as I do your other pieces, and I am reminded of her identity as a Scot and celebrate her while I yet mourn. It often brings me floods of tears in my loss but great joy in knowing she rests in her beloved homeland as she would have wished. Thank you so much ❤❤❤
I was fortunate enough to visit Scotland It is so beautiful. When we parked at the welcome to Scotland area there were bag pipers playing and it was so wonderful.
This was a beautiful sound. The bagpipes are the most beautiful instrument out there. I feel my Scottish heritage burns in my veins. SAOR ALBA GU BRATH from the US.

Have I commented on this one yet? Because it is absolutely breathtaking. You look gorgeous! And I love knowing how this tune was channeled through your heart and fingers. Truly incredible Tressy!♥️
so haunting, I keep coming back to it. As "Siubhail" relates to travelling I want it played when I make that final journey. Tress you must write and play more original music - you have a gift so please use it
A truly beautiful and inspiring piece, thank you! I have loved the pipes ever since my dad took me to see the Pipes and Drums of the Black Watch, in San Francisco in the early seventies. Blessings!
Ever since first coming upon hearing the bagpipes when i was playin with a big group of pals in some sim games, I never got tired of them. This is great and I just replay the video since listenin once isn't enough. I'm no even Scottish and yet I really appreciate such a beautiful instrument. Thanks for playing the great songs.
There’s nothing that can quite awaken my bones, quite quake my soul, quite stir me to tears, like those ol pipes, in those ol glens. From the mountaintops of WV, much love and adoration, love ♥️
Thank you. This means a lot to me. I long to see my home again, Gortahork, Ireland. Sure this may be Scottish, but such a sweet Celtic tune reminds me of my home. Hopefully someday in the not so far future, I'll smell the mountain air and turf that burns humbly in the tavern kiln. Again, thank you.
