Does anyone else get goosebumps and the hair on the back of their neck standing up when they hear this? So haunting, so beautiful. I'm an old guy but just for fun I have a wake boat with an awesome stereo and I love to play this as I cruise down the lake to my fishing spot. Lol, I'm sure everyone thinks I am crazy.

WHY does the bagpipe have the best sound in the world?????? I am Indian, i have NO reason at all to have any emotional connection with this sound, but every time i hear this sound of the gods, it stirs up things within me!! Love from India ❤️❤️❤️
It might be because the low pitched note in the background serves as a drone and harmonisation
@@SsickMusic eeehhhhh that's interesting, that could partly be why. I mean yes, the drone has some familiarity to me, but it's not just that.

The land of warriors So feared by the Romans they built Hadrian’s Wall… My ancestors are from Scotland who immigrated to America 100 years ago. Wild rugged and beautiful truly the land of breathtaking views… Every time I hear the pipes, something strange happens and it’s hard to describe…
As were mine! My 7x great grandfather bought land east of Pennsylvania and was captured by Indians after they settled! Months later he escaped and went and fetched his sons he returned and they killed his captors with edged weapons formed from their Scottish skills.
Im swedish but i feel patriotic for Scotland every time i hear this! SCOTLAND FOREVER!
Well Sweden and Scotland were actually close with one another at one point, I believe! And have a lot more in common than you might think. Maybe that’s why you feel so patriotic over them! That’s just my guess however. 😅

I'm Middle Eastern, my own parents grew up as Bedouins herding goats in the wild. Why does hearing this feels like it's taking me back to a previous life I've never lived?! Sure my parents' culture included string instruments made out of goat skin and pipes made of bones or plants, but the sounds are different. Really wish there were studies explaining this, the human mind is fascinating. And my love for Scotland is inexplicable to me!

The earliest known bagpipes were found in ancient Egypt. No doubt go back farther in history.
I love how the cows look at her with their ears perked up while she plays the bagpipes. It's like they're acknowledging what she's playing, and being respectful.
Or it's like they're cows. Cows are interested in noise. We used to practice our public speaking in front of herds of cows because they'd always come over and stare more intently than any human audience.
Charlie Hockett That’s so awesome!

Look up Kulning if you're interested, it's how you get cows back to the shed from over large areas and kind of mesmerising to listen to

Makes me feel connected to my Scottish ancestors. Beautiful and powerful!
I was an exchange student back in the early 90's studying at Glasgow Polytechnic (I understand it's a full University now). Didn't have the first bloody clue what I was getting myself into but, regardless of what genetic disposition I have, I came home a Scotsman. Even went out and bought a Kilt (Black Stewart) for formal occasions after returning home. Whenever I found a street musician in a park, I'd park my hind-parts there and use their music to study to. When they (or I) were done, I always made sure to throw a few Quid in their collection "box". There was a pub on Sauchiehall street near Queen's Street Station that I wish I could remember the name of but I can't for the life of me that I spent loads of time at watching SPL on the Tele on weekends. Even took in an Old Firm match at Ibrox. Watching videos like this brings back so many memories of that wonderful place that I always considered a second home, even though I've not been there for many years. Nearing 50, going back is one of the few things I have on my bucket list.
Dark Isle Bagpiper... thank you for all that you do. You always bring a smile to my soul with your music.
Thank you Rick! I enjoyed reading your story! Keep following this channel❤️
The pub you speak of was called fingals. on the corner of Buchanan street.great pub that was demolished many years ago for new a shopping centre.
Amused. It’s amazing how much Scotland and Ireland look like the Summer Tundra up here in Alaska. Hello from Alaska, my long lost relatives.
Starcloak Starside Its all peatland. The peatland in ireland and scotland is blanket bog and raised bog and its formed by high rainfall and the bedrock ,whereas tundra is formed by permafrost. The net result is the same the formation of peat which is a waterlogged acid ,partially decomposed soil and the plants that grow on all three types of peatland are more or less the same resulting in the landscapes looking very similar, even though they are the results of different climatic and geographic situations.
Starcloak Starside in the long long ago the continents were joined and even today if you look closely at a world map you can see how they would fit together, like a jigsaw puzzle
Oh man, this tune fills me with so much energy and makes me feel an unwavering sense of patriotism towards this great land. And I'm not even Scottish...
I know the pipes were originally intended to strike terror in the hearts of the enemy. But when I hear the pipes it makes my heart smile and happy. My ancestors are all Scandinavian but I love them still.
When I was toddler a group of pipers marched by in a parade and I ran after them. I had be chased down I was so immerse in their sound.

Wow! I always say the same: I'm not Scottish, I'm not European either, however, I've been fascinated by bagpipes and those landscapes since I was a child. For some reason that defies all logical thoughts, I have the goosebumps and my eyes fill with tears when I listen to this music. How I'd like to be walking among those fields surrounded by nothing more than Nature.
