Thank you this is so helpful to me, as a newbie cross stitcher. I've been wondering this for so long and it did seem daunting, but you've made it so easy to understand. Love you channel, so glad I found you. Thanks for making this videos!
Great video. I'm still stitching Bless Our Home. I use my stitch calculator app on my phone but now thanks to you I can convert sizes without my phone. I bought a beginner kit for my 15 year old niece and I will have her watch your beginning series. Your videos as always are so informative. Have a fantastic day and thanks again for all the time you spend teaching us.
Very informative series! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain so easily! Have always wanted to learn cross stitch but seemed way too complicated, so thank you again for the simplest of instructions! May give it a try now!!’
Thanks for all the info D if been stitching for less then a year self taught an never knew how to figure my fabric count I just got big prices of fabric an went straight to the middle I also stay away from big patteren s due to fear of messing it up so a huge thanks love all your videos
Have you done a video on the different types of fabrics? I know I’ve bitten off my than I could chew with the Little House “Heart of America.” I’ve only ever worked on Aida fabric. The pattern calls for 2 over 2 on 30 count Creek Bed Brown linen. Is linen harder to work with than the Aida? Also, the thread is Classic Colorworks. Again, something that I haven’t used before. Several of the colors like red current have different colors in the same skein. Do I use one of each of the colors to make the 2 strands called for? Thanks for your assistance.
I do have a video on different types of fabric. Aida is the easiest fabric to work with. You don't have to use the called for fabric in a pattern. You can stitch it on whatever fabric you like. With threads like Classic Colorworks you just use two strands of the thread. As you stitch the different colors will come through. These are going to be great informative videos for the newbie stitcher. I did manage to get you a new subscriber. So I will make sure she starts watching these. She was using four strands and getting in a knot . I did ask the question you know about splitting your strands of 6 floss? She had actually worked that out . But the pattern had asked her to use four. I also asked , have u heard of floss tube? Nope!!! Lol I'm still binge watching you and enjoying all many thanks x
Yes I did say that, but even using 3 on 14 count can be a bugger. Hence I would always use my millennium for this kind of thing. Thank god for the Americans that's what I say. You have no idea how basic our cross stitching was before the internet and floss tube. We have learnt so much , you would be astounded . We would kill to have that sort of thing here. And here's the worst thing , in 1995 I went to vAgas. Obviously no internet and no knowledge of that super duper cross stitch store . Went New York the year before last, now that was a story. Trying to work out the subway, and trying to visit the Statue of Liberty. Gave the cross stitch hunt a miss lol
Your tutorials are exactly what I have been looking for! Thank you so much for taking the time to do these😃
Short by sweet, and very helpful. I didn't realize you could just divide by you fabric size. This is awesome!
