You know I have been scared to stitch on anything but Aida. I have been stitching for 34 years and have always stitched on Aida. I’ve been wanting to learn evenweave and linen etc. there are many videos out there on this topic, but I want you to know your video is the best for me. You explained it so good. So now I am fixing to order me some 28 ct and just play around with it. Thank you so much for this video. You have boosted my confidence....happy stitching!!!
You are a really good teacher! Thanks for this bonus video, I do know the difference but seeing it in real fabrics and with that great diagram made it so much clearer! X
Oh i need to get that Frankenstein pattern. I’m working with Aida, but I really want to try out some evenweave. Danielle, you’ve got me started on something new now!
Thank you for this video. I have only ever stitched on Aida and have never tried anything else. Even you just working on dyed materials is a marvel to me. I think it may be time to just get out of my comfort zone and try a little project on a dyed evenweave. Thank you again loved the video.
Fantastic video Danielle. This will help sew many people😀. When I first started cross stitch in 80's I only knew Aida. When I found flosstube I thought I had found something new. So i tried it, bought tonnes of it, took me a while to get my head around😐. In USA it comes across that majority of people look down on Aida! I literally only realised about two weeks ago that 18ct and 36ct etc. are exactly the same pmsl. What a Humpty!!! I think now I will only use evenweave etc. if the pattern I'm doing have 1/4 stitches. That diagram really explained it very clearly. Love, love those rich colours you chose. Thanks for sharing x
Danielle, thanks for the tutorial. I have yet to venture beyond Aida - after 30 years+ of stitching! Maybe this is the year I try a small project (with fractionals) on evenweave. Beautiful fabric.. can't wait to see your projects on them. :)
Danielle thank you so much for that video I am just getting back into cross stitching for watching all your videos and was wondering what the difference was now I know .. lol I had leaned on Aida and will probably stick to that because of eyesight . Also thank you for Aaron instagram I sent him a nice message last night I do hope he returns he is so sweet
Great video! I love how you show the differences in the dye lots between Aida and evenweave. I don’t really have a problem doing fractionals on Aida but I’ve also been stitching for almost 40 years. I’m trying to find patterns that would be perfect on the fabrics you sent me but everything I stitch lately only looks good on a neutral. I’m like you in that I hate plain fabric. That Frankenstein pattern is going to look superb on that fabric!
LOVE Bonus Video's Danielle!!! Thank you for this lesson, I never worked on anything other then Aida and 14ct. Is my Favorite, I can see it better lol. So yes I'm an Aida Girl!! ;) ;) But OMG Those Fabric Color's are BEAUTIFUL they will be great for your Halloween ones. and also the one for your Frankenstein piece is going to look Fantastic!! ;) Have a Great rest of your day!! And Thanks for Sharing!! ox
Thanks for making this video. Now, I got an idea to apply in my projects. I have a question though. I thought that dyeing the fabric is so cool, however my concern is, am I right once we're finished with the whole project, we tend to wash it project before frame it? Will the color from the fabric smudge the color of the threads?
@@Stitcherista Oh great! 😍😍😍 Thanks a million! I asked because here in Manila, there are no readily available dyed fabric. But we do have fabrics that come in several colors. Also, I'm taking my stitching to a higher level since I also want to try using evenweave versus just the usual Aida. I thought it was a little tricky as beginner, but I can't wait to try it! Thanks again!
Thank you for this video, do you use all that fabric for a patern or you cutting it in two for two pattern, I'm just starting crosstich and for me it's a big fabric! love it!!!
You can stitch any pattern on any fabric. It doesn't matter what fabric they stitch it on. All you have to do is take the stitch count and divide it by the count aida fabric you are using.

It should not smudge the threads. When people dye fabric they usually rinse and wash it many times before selling it.

It depends on how big the pattern is.
@@Stitcherista ok, thank you very much!
How would you start a new project on Aida
I usually start in the middle or even in the top left corner. I do have some videos on my channel how I start a piece.
What do you do when you come across a slub? Scrape it out or stitch into it?
I have cut it before and cut a home in my fabric. If you try to remove it be very careful.
So difficult to find good fabric in Brazil😭AIDA and LUGANA are very expensive… when you find.
Where can I get the diagram?
I have it linked in the description box.
@@Stitcherista Thank you 😊
I just got a pattern that is to be stitched in an 18 count linen. Is there away to convert this pattern to Aida? Hope this make sense.

Stitcherista perfect! Thank you so much🤓

I prefer Aida myself.
