Watching Jack and Jill should've been the challenge, the last person to leave the theatre or stay awake wins for their tribe, in the event of a tie, the remaining survivors need to count the number of product placements featured in the film, closest number wins

The only reason Coach didn't like the movie is because Al Pacino tried to play twister with his sister.
That pork challenge in South Pacific wasn't just gross, it left most of the contestants with dental injuries. Most repulsive challenge I've ever witnessed.

Man, I COMPLETELY disagree with you about the spices and herbs. After weeks of eating unseasoned, flavorless rice and coconuts, more flavors would feel like sex. There were "spice wars" for a reason.

Exactly! I honestly thought it was a great reward, better than just a jar of spices that some rewards have, this is one that keeps growing more and more.
As someone with their own herb garden, I would've killed for that. That was probably one of the best herb/spice rewards Survivor ever did
I think he misremembered the reward because it wasn’t just salt, pepper, and oil. That was the secondary reward, the main reward was a complete spice set (with salt pepper and oil included) which is 10000% worth it especially when all you’ve been eating is boiled crab and coconuts.
You would think that the producers would know to bury non perishable items...
Well they learned cause the hidden cache of food was done again in MvGx when Jay and Taylor found it
@@captaintalon4485 That’s not what happened. Taylor took leftovers from the merge feast and buried it. When it became obvious that either he or Jay was next to go, they dug up the food Taylor hid and had a last meal.
For Pearl islands, it was that they went stagecraft over function their movie set treasure was not air tight, leading to mold and mildew. Even putting the blankets in a plastic bag would have helped. Today they might be smarter

The Winners at War challenge where Ethan was nearly hospitalized for a single fire token was pretty lousy.
The fact that they came together and said “nah that reward sucks do better” brings me joy
I'm glad that fish from this season got a shout out because of how bad it was. Hell, I thought the fish wasn't even real, because it outright looked like a rubber fish.

I love the juxtaposition that when ulong won a reward they get a sewing kit. When koror won a reward they gets entire shelter plus wine
I think the only worthwhile reward that Ulong got was the fishing gear from episode 2.
The meat eating challenge was the hardest one to watch, just really disgusting. And they got to keep the meat they collected as part of their reward, gross.
Each time someone mentions Brenda I remember Cindy's reward from Guatemala, when she won a car but was offered to give up on it in exchange for car for everyone else. She chose opposite to Brenda and was also voted out the exact same episode. In both cases the player was basically screwed
Some context for the Rupert reward : the Tribe who won Rupert said that they preferred not to win him because of the fact that most of them didn't know him at all, the girls were scared from the why he looks and talks.
Also he failed in absolutely every single thing he tried to do, breaking their fishing gear and he had to eat with them so they lost a lot of their food because of him.
this is spectacularly awful. was this at the height of rupert-mania? round late 03-04? if it was this makes a lot more sense as why it happened. but if it was significantly later that only makes it even funnier.

I do think that the herb garden and spices reward in Gabon is really great. The rewards where they get to eat this huge feast are often bad because their stomachs can't hold all that food, so they usually have diarrhea afterwards. But an herb garden and spices is a reward that'll hopefully last you the whole game. And the food they gotta eat at camp is so bland, they'd probably be glad to have herbs and spices for their rice and fish.
That bite bits of meat off the pig and spit it out into a bowl reward made me throw up first time I saw it and it still makes me gag

In one episode of Marquesas, one reward was one king sized snickers bar "won" by Kathy... Seriously.
Also, the season that started the infamous "car curse" was the the Australian Outback. And the car featured was a Pontiac Aztek, which was "won" by Colby.

It’s funny how in season one the producers thought brining the very little rewards is to showcase how much these people miss these things and took them for granted by fighting and competing for them, but it failed big time lol

lol honestly I've been in the military where during training you don't get much to eat, and usually they give you crap. Any meal that comes your way with a small tiny flavor of saltiness is amazing for morale.
I don’t remember which season or country of Survivor this was, but one season had a reward where some survivalist and provider person would join the winning tribe and provide food for them… and they also just straight up joined the game right then and there. They were voted out the next time the tribe went to tribal council.
This was in one of the international seasons i think, maybe the British one?
That was Australian Celebrity Survivor, came out in 2006

salt is actually really good you can use it to preserve food, you need it for suplement, it makes food taste better, it eliminates odors, you can clean with it, remove featehrs from chickens etc, scale fish with it, if you do get milk for some reason salt will make it last longer, it helps against sore throats, bug bites / stings, repel ants from your camp,
This season's "immunity idol" that took all three tribes to find to activate, while taking your vote away for the entire time it takes for all three to find it, has got to be one of the worst "advantages" I've ever seen in this game.
I think there is worse one. The advantage in isand of the idols where who found it went to island of the idols and found out that he just lost his vote. That is the worst advantage i think

S41E10's reward is Fijian pizza and a night in a shelter with pillows and blankets... so we'll see if there's any improvements with the fijian pizza in the new era.

Omg that poor pig in the helicopter, the way it moves its pawn to the side, so cute but at the same time so sad because it must be terrified, and probably survived for less than a day 😭
If it's a physical fight, or endurance battle, especially in the heat, there should be a bigger reward. Many survivors has gotten injured, heat stroke in so many situations and they don't even get much in return. I hope in further seasons, the reward will be really worth playing for.

Anyone remember the Pringles and Beer reward? I think it was from Vanuatu? I just remember a reward challenge where the survivors traveled to a waterfall and ate only plain Pringles and beer. Maybe not the worst reward but the food was pretty underwhelming
It was Palau. They also got to swim with jellyfish as part of their reward so I think the pringles and beer were supposed to be more of a bonus

I think the chocolate reward might be one of the worst rewards. Legit everyone felt terrible after they ate so much chocolate

You can't hate the Jack and Jill reward because of Sophie's facial expressions that show she would literally rather be anywhere else.
Australian survivor once gave boxes of frozen pizza as a reward and the team couldn't figure out how to cook them so they just ate the uncooked, slightly thawed pizza. It was hard to watch
It was the first 15 minutes of the season and I remember thinking the same thing when I watched Borneo when the pandemic first began I was like there's no way that this isn't a bar that they just threw together and those are all production members they have to be

A lot of the bad rewards are kind of understandable. If the Jack & Jill movie producers decide to sponsor the show, CBS isn't going to turn it down because the movie will probably suck. And it would seem hard to get good quality pizza in Fiji. But the half-chewed meat...it's not a sponsored reward and they HAD to realize how disgusting that premise was, right? Or even if they didn't realize it going in, observing the challenge would make it obvious and they still didn't pivot to a different reward. Really weird and gross.

The survivor was a bit of a reward for the crew too. Think about it, alot of the crew got to act like locals and get drinks and likely snacks, and I can promise that even those not acting in the scene got in on the fun when the cameras weren't on.
They should bring back the survivor auction and see if anyone wants to bid on clothes that fit. Could even have it covered and sold as "an advantage in upcoming challenges".
You’d think by now more people would plan their wardrobe choice accounting for massive weight loss - things like elastic waistbands, drawstrings, or nylon belts with clamps instead of belt holes.
@@brawndothethirstmutilator9848 unfortunately I don't think they have a full say in their clothing choices anymore. I vaguely remember a different video talking about producers clothing people to 1) prevent items like food and fish hooks smuggled in and 2) encourage women to be in bikinis more often.
Otherwise I feel like more people would make choices to account for weight loss AND being cold at night (sweaters, rain jackets, sweat pants on top of shorts). I'd go in layered in as much as I could possibly swim in for the first episode.

This video was made before we saw what post season 40 survivor looks like. Every reward post season 40 is the worst reward. These are the rewards I would consider to be the best rewards for both pre and post season 40. Plus, after season 40, every season has almost the same rewards. Review the list below. Which rewards do you think are better?
Best pre-season 40 rewards:
1. Helicopter flight to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef with full buffet lunch
2. Day trip on a 100 foot luxury yacht
3. Exclusive visit to a Buddhist temple in China
4. Participating in an authentic Marquasian feast
5. Helicopter ride to view volcanic activity on Mount Yasser
6. Day visit to an authentic Vanuatu village with feast
7. Day long deep sea fishing trip in Panama and keep all fish caught
8. Cars in each of the first 14 seasons
9. a trip to the temples of Siem Reap, where they enjoyed a feast and a traditional Cambodian ceremony
10. Swimming with Whale sharks in the Philippines
11. Hot air balloon ride in Africa
12. Jellyfish lake in Palau
Best post-season 40 rewards:
1. watching baby turtles move into the ocean in Fiji
2. fishing gear
3. tarp
4. machete, pot and flint
5. grilled cheese sandwiches and chips

Bruh the movie rewards always looked TRASH. I never understood why Survivor insisted on making their players watch those garbage movies. I remember the players that watched Gulliver's Travels do their confessionals talking about how amazing the movie was and just thinking "B-tch I know you lyin"

And I love Coach, so I guess he had to find the best in a crap situation...? I don't like Adam Sandler, though, so it might just be me. He's a lot like Jack Black and Robin Williams, both of whom I DO like, but you can always tell it's them. They don't lose themselves in the character. Maybe because they're so well-known?

also that spit meat and win it is nothing new on my countrys version (bulgaria) we had it like on the first or 2nd season in both before 2005 but i agree its gross

That is pizza is certainly a I can lower my standards enough to eat that. That said, I don't want to think about eating it.
Excluding the most recent episode and the standard tarp etc rewards, the rewards in 41 have been fairly underwhelming.
That's pretty much on purpose though since it's a compressed season they had to make the rewards less luxurious to emphasize the survival aspect more

I seem to remember the last reward challenge Deets won on Exile Island to be a total joke.
Can't remember what it was, but I just remember it being baaaad.
If you mean something other than the reward challenge right before final immunity, maybe (I don't really remember the other reward challenges)...
But his final reward was actually a reward challenge *before* the final immunity challenge (which, as far as I can remember, had never been done before and has not been done since), and it was a power meal filled with protein and carbs, and a dry bed and personal shelter to sleep in to allow him to be in peak condition for the final immunity challenge.
As far as impact on the game, that certainly *was* worth playing for. The reward itself was possibly one of the best rewards (a huge advantage going into the final immunity challenge). Yes, it may have all been for naught when Terri lost the final immunity challenge anyway (because it was a balancing challenge and he was up against a former gymnast), but the reward itself could have been one of the best advantages to the point of people potentially protesting it being "unfairly advantageous!"
That being said, yes, I really did not like the *idea* of having a reward challenge that late into a game, or giving anyone an advantage in the final immunity challenge! Like I said, that challenge ended up being for naught because he still lost, and also, even if he *had* won, there likely would've been *even more* controversy on how it was unfair he got an advantage in such a critical challenge! That's probably why (if I'm remembering it correctly) they never repeated it again!
If international seasons counted the box of useless crap in Champions vs Contenders 2 is one of the worst
