Thank you Demis, I always return to your vids for some insights on Arps. You have a distinct sound that's both quintessential and professional.

The one with the “wrong” notes at the end sounds best.

One of the best tips I learned in music production was to make melodies and intro leads in A Minor first then transpose to hear what it sounds best in. Then work on the kick & bass. I never understood making kick & bass first in whatever key then make your tonal notes. Melodies are the main theme of the track and finding the right scale I feel is very important. No rights or wrong though, it's what you prefer doing

Either way round we do this process we are creating to suit the other. Some will find creating the chords first and kick and bass to suit easier that the other way around. 🙂
Listening to the internal monologue that is creativity is key to sharing your persona and character through music.

I do a bit of both depending on mood. I think creating the melody first allows for more creativity with the bass as I tend to work around the melody more. When creating the kick and bass first (which I also sometimes do) I find my melodies are compromised in complexity.

@ Also depends what music you are making. Uplifting trance often is more melodic than tech trance. Some tech trance has no melody

Nice 1 Demis. Random question though, when you set scale assistant and you have a incorrect note, it changes to orange, why does my cubase 12 pro not do that?

In the top bar of you midi editor you will see and drop menu that will most likely show "velocity". In this menu you can select "scale/chord"
