- By the end of this song my emotions we’re all types of tangled up. A part of me felt bad for those suffering and the other part of me wanted to scream “get up and let’s get this!”. We can do anything and I mean anything we put our minds to. Look at this world we created. Heavy song and amazing song.

This is the 1st song he wrote after being in rehab. He said he didn't know this side of him exhisted 💙💙🎶🎵 Him being Justin Furstenfeld just celebrated 11 yrs clean from alcohol and meth this month. I hadn't listened to any music for 10 yrs when I happened to hear this song and their song HOME here on UA-cam. And now I need music as much as oxygen. Justin wrote this fresh out of rehab; he'd spent years self-medicating for his mental illnesses and his life had basically completely crumbled a few years earlier. Then he came out of rehab a different man, and Blue October has made some great feel good rock since
PTSD from serving 2 tours in Afghanistan with the United States Marine Corps. And currently fighting stage 2 non small cell lung cancer. This song is my fight song. It inspires me to keep fighting forward and not give up.
This song I listen to whenever I'm in a dark place. Blue October lifts me up every single time and once you learn of his Justin's (the singer) story, the song is even more powerful.

I think you should listen to the acoustic version of Fear, it definitely leaves a larger impact and you can feel the raw emotion when Justin sings.

Love the song, and it’s meaning. And you’re comments, at the end. I would say a loss of life is one of the bigger challenges you’ll ever face . I would of celebrated my 59 anniversary a few weeks ago. But my husband is with me at every family gathering, with our daughters , grandchildren and great grandchildren. His legacy lives on.
