Former AWA World Tag Team Champion, Memphis Wrestling Legend and former WCW agent and manager "Superstar" Bill Dundee discusses the legendary Memphis parking lot attack Randy Savage pulled on Bill Dundee when he was exiting a gym that only ended when Bill managed to retrieve his pistol from the car for protections against the Poffo crew who pressed charges against Dundee which were ultimately dropped in court.

The most amazing part of the whole story is that Bill Dundee was at the gym.

Bill Dundee and Kevin Sullivan were of the best heels ever. I'm not saying that they were the best but when you're under 5'8 and you can go out there and absolutely destroy people in the ring and make it look believable then you're definitely one of the best. Dundee and Sullivan were both extremely believable as heels.
Dundee must be speaking the truth because he has told this story several times and it is exactly the same
He is telling the truth but he is only telling one side of the story. There were issues between those guys and it was more than a matter of randy just being "goofy".
I've heard Rip Rogers tell the story in a similar way to how Bill describes it. I think the Fabs were near the incident (a gym entrance I think?) but I've never heard their version of events.
Look I’ve know Bill for 35 yrs, he’s one if the most honest men I’ve even know. I knew Randy for about 25-30 yrs and have seen him do crap that a sane person would never do. Even though I wasn’t at this incident I believe Bill as I’ve heard him tell the story over 20 times wo wavier.
Is Bill known as a bit of a bullshiter? I guess most of these old timers are, especially if you take into account that they make most of their money now telling juicy tales.
Niki Stone no not really. He was more concerned with putting on a good show but could pull a good rib at times. Now for Randy, he was insane while married to Liz. Talk about over protection, he was way over the top with her. She was so sweet and kind. If Randy liked you, you were ok but if he didn’t he let you know it.

Considering how Randy was known to have a short fuse, combine that with the acid, coke, speed, and steroids he was doing. It is no shock to hear about him having incidents like these.
Bill Dundee was great. His size kept him from being a bigger star, but he was one tough S.O B.

@@Tony-fq5bn Randy's younger brother, my dad meet him and use to talk to him at the local gym where he lives, he's definitely taken too many hits to the head. Dad said the man is fucked up weird now, dad really doesn't talk much about him except to say just stay the fuck away from him if you ever run into him.

Two sides to every story. I always bought into Randy's version. I guess somewhere in between is the truth.

Lots of stories that start with Randy sucker punching someone (the first other one that comes to mind is hawk).
I thought the exact same thing. I used to be a big fan of Macho, but ehhh...the stories kind of killed it . Always with a sucker punch, and waaaay overkill with the roids later on.

I think Bill had a better head on his shoulders and took better care of himself. Would have loved to see Jamie stay straight and keep up the legacy. Jamie did have a good run but to me he had too big of boots to fill. That, being said I saw bill Dundee wrestle in my hometown ( central city) in the 2000s and he still wore the same wrestling boots he wore in cwa. It was an honor to see him. A true fan tries to look over all the personal problems the wrestlers go through and look at them as performers
