The EU should not follow the policy of others but to engage together with China not as rivals but as partners to face the challenges of the world. The EU should encourage its high-tech industries to balance the trade deficit by exporting its high quality products. Confrontation with China will only damage the relationship and business opportunities. Words such as ‘de-risking’ used by the EU does not mean anything nor improve the trade imbalance.
