    This video made a difference.

    Great video, David!
Looks like you had some rough days. I'm glad that things are looking up for you now.
I agree with you completely. Being a master player and teacher is not enough, and you do need to know what you are doing on the web to be able to make money out of it. Giving away free "valuable" stuff is critical.
Guys, remember that you do not need to target everyone. You will be better off picking a niche that is relevant to you. Perhaps you learned to play in a unique way with some kind of difficulty and now you have a trick or two to help others in that same situation, so you can choose a niche that target those people.
Not everyone wants to be a shredder, as well as not everyone wants to play flamenco, so you can choose a specific area in which you excel and even outshine other more popular teachers, because you know how to reach your specific audience.
As for the rest, you will need to work your butt off many times.
-- Remember what AC/DC taught us a long time ago:
"It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll."

Thank you Dave for this! Just seeing this video obviously.. Music is the secondary passion I focus on to keep my "sanity" while working on the first passion, which is software development. I am slowly working towards being independent entrepreneur. Your marketing portion here was helpful, and I will reference it when I have my first product ready. Using your techniques unknowingly, I'm one of the persons that went through your funnel many times :) and am very happy that I did! Thanks again for the genuine enlightening video, and excellent guitar lessons/videos/kindness!!

In fact, for what it's worth, and since we're being sincere about the marketing stuff, what would increase my spend on Guitar Playback would be bundles of three of four courses. Say, four related courses for the price of three, or for €100.

Dave!.....I love your approach. You certainly have given me some food for thought here. I'm also a musician/entrepreneur who owns his own shop, but sometimes I get lost in minutia of every day operations and get too caught up in thinking only in "business terms". Thanks for providing this alternate way of seeing your approach, not only as an entrepreneur, but also as fellow musician providing content and trust before money.

Thought this was a really well put together video. It's a simple idea but really hard to execute, and as you point out getting people to trust you is the key. There are a few people on the internet that I support by buying their products. The guys from The Guitar Hour and Levi Clay are just 2 examples. In fact it was David Beebee who led me to check out and purchase your last album. Because I'm able to establish a relationship with them, I feel honoured to be able to support them. It's a virtuous circle

Hi David, I just subscribed after appreciating your story. I like that you did not change your path to happiness for chasing only the money. Building Trust is a long term sustainable business technique that I wished everyone values. Honest success can take sometime to build. You were on a learning journey in achieving your success; I associated it to going back to a tailored/unique content school to gain the knowledge and experience to reach the career you have created for yourself. Good look with all future goals.

You had it right the first time.... the answer is NO!!! To know understand and manipulate music especially on an instrument like the guitar you have to already be a genius. In today's technologically proficient world where nobody feels that they should have to pay for the music that they listen to when they can get it for free anyways, being a genius is not enough. You must now be a superhero! Well done!

Hey David, thank you for your encouragement and insight. So as a professional Guitar instructor of 22 years I guess you're well aware that 2020 has pretty much shut down in person lessons. I have been teaching online for the store I sub-contract now since March. They are still getting a small percentage of my money made even at home although they have had no involvement in bettering it in 7 Months. I actually really like it and I like all the perks and the benefits of being at home not spending the extra money on gasoline the turnaround time that it takes to do all those things and I like being at home with my family. If I wanted to continue doing that but also start a channel kind of like yours where I created online courses videos so on and so forth and gave less one on one lessons in the future, what equipment would you recommend is best to move forward with that? Right now I'm just using a really high-quality gaming laptop that's brand new and a great Logitech camera for doing everything on Zoom. Really good interface is probably the best place to start and you can get some really low priced ones with high quality for $99 or less. What would be the next step of video and audio where the audio sounds great when I play something for someone instead of it being compressed through Zooms web site Etc? If this is too much for you to answer on here I can definitely send you my business email where you and I can chat back and forth that way I have no problems putting that online because it's my LLC email. As always thanks and God bless and I look forward to hearing from you! I have since moved on to my full time LLC!
