Great work. The prices for the metal kits are outrageous. But the old plastic stuff is a baragain. Especially if you buy from a 3rd party store. I decided to use a differnt way and cut the KotR on Foot bodys in half to kitbash my Knights. Also Foot Knights with the old bodies look so much better :D
Hey man, amazing video- exactly what I have been looking for! I’ve had the same idea, wanting to use the 12 KotR kit and the 20 knights on foot box to create 6 Questing knights and 6 Grail knights by mashing the bits together. You used the original KotR torsos and clipped off the arms, did you ever consider putting the knights on foot bodies on the KotR legs? Basically putting the knight on foot on the original KotR legs on the horse? Or are the proportions way too off for that? Anyway great video! I’ll try it soon too.
Thanks! I have the knights on foot kit too and some of the torsos for those knights will be a mess to cut in half. There’s fluttering robes, hanging doodads etc that make it difficult to cut them in half. I recommend just trimming the arms off the KotR torsos shown here and add the knights on foot arms. Much easier!
Planning to start this conversion here soon myself. However I do think I may take a bit to source some maces for them as well do the knights on foot have maces in their kit?
Nice conversion. The KOTR on horse Set is already somewhat annoying due to the left arm issue, but the KOTR on foot is a nightmare. Just let us attach BOTH arms and not model the arm onto the chest and DONT give us monopose or semi monopose BS. I miss the days were building kits was actually fun. But the newer kits are all so bloody dull and boring to assemble. I mean I've been in the hobby for years and I have no issue with kitbashin or modelling parts with greenstuff, but the people just coming into the hobby never really learn to be creative with the newer kits and half their army looks the same. It feels like were going back into the 80s early 90s again when it comes to unit variety.
@@bobdole8830 yeah I’m not a huge fan of monopose models either. Sure they look great but when they’re in big groups, the models look like copies of each other. That’s why I like Warlord Games Bolt Action minis. The heads, arms, accessories and weapons are all customizable. No two models will look the same.

Unfortunately it’s just axes in the kit.
