SNK probably has a standard template for Terry and Mai for crossovers. He looks the same as he did in FEXL and smash. They probably want one recognizable look for every crossover so he is easily identifiable regardless of the style.
It makes sense for terry but not for mai imo. To me, having Mai chosen confirms to me that capcom has been working on the capcom vs snk roster for a while now.
Terry is the first true 3rd party crossover in Street Fighter. Street Fighter already have their first party crossover from Final Fight (a lot) and then we have Akira from Rival School in SF5
@@pablocasas5906 Yeah, the issue was the translation. I think he plainly said that they couldn't feature Mai in Smash because of CERO, but the subtitles said they didn't put her in because Smash is a game for good boys and girls. It's hilarious, but it's also a really dumb choice.

All I have to say is Takashi Nishiyama. One of the two creators of Street Fighter and creator of Fatal Fury. These aren't just regular guest characters.
Going off this logic, a few other series to watch out for: * Darkstalkers * Art of Fighting * Mega Man (not a fighter but yes) * Fighting Layer/SFEX * The Rumble Fish
@@Rivarham I was thinking the same thing. Also, my understanding is that CotW may be the final chapter of the FF saga. If that's the case, having SF6 celebrate FF's legacy seems fitting to me.
I guess it's just because that is both Terry and Mai's most iconic look. But with Garou on the way I'm kind of surprised they aren't those versions of the characters, especially since everyone else in the SF universe is their oldest selves. Maybe it will be their alternate outfits or something.
I'm also wondering, what it is going to be Terry's stage? He has had a lot of very iconic stages, particularly the train from Fatal Fury 2 and Mark of the Wolves, but I also like the beach stages from Fatal Fury 3 and Real Bout Special and there's also the desert from Real Bout 2 which was featured in KoF XIII. As for Mai, I hope that's not similar to Ryu's stage in this game, with the sakura tree, since she had a similar-looking stage in RB2
This is important for the world of fighting games and the FGC because if this leads to Capcom vs. SNK 3, that in my opinion would be the ultimate celebration of fighting games.
It would seem like the best time now. I get it 20 years ago when SNK was fighting off money issues and fighting games were declining, but now that the genre is thriving and these two companies are thriving... IT'S TIME FOR CVS3
Perspective matters a lot. For me as a fan of both Capcom and SNK, I 100% agree but an MVC4 announcement would be equally huge. Hell I'd argue even now, SNK gains more from this crossover than Capcom to be dead ass honest.
@@tokyobassistyou have problems with Disney forcing to use the Cinematic universe rather than the comics/animated series. So that one is a bit hard plus Infinite was a flop.
The designs are specifically based off their Fatal Fury designs and it's definitely a crossover related to said series rather than just KOF, the reason why we haven't seen their COTW designs is because Mai's look wasn't revealed as of yet so they'll probably be alternate costumes.
@@surftCapcom probably doesn’t really care about fitting Terry and Mai into the chronology and story of Street Fighter given they’re guest characters. They’re coming to the game in a dope-ass crossover, and that’s enough.
A thing that I've mentioned to some ppl is that I don't think a lot of new age fighting game fans know how important/prolethic SNK is to the world of fighting games. Seeing SNK doing their thing and doing well these past several years and now having this with SF6 just brings me back to the good ol days and I am VERY excited for this batch of characters
lets be real, Playmore nearly killed all of their franchises if it wasn't for the metal slug franchise keeping the SNK brand relevant hell i didn't even know they were making fighting games after the NEST Saga if it wasn't for years later on UA-cam with all the KoF 13 combo challenge
@@GarethXLTBF, Playmore era had some great games like Kof 2002/02UM, 98UM, Kof XI, NGBC and Kofi XIII, but yeah by that point the damage had already been done.
To this day I'm still sad that Terry's appearance in Smash was leaked by a copyright. I mean, it only listed SNK but people were quick to assume that it would be Terry
@@pablocasas5906I find it funny that at the time Terry’s Smash reveal fans thought he was “irrelevant” when he had more game appearances than some of the characters that were constantly requested for dlc. It’s even funnier that Terry would later end up getting another KOF game, a new Fatal Fury game since 1999, and now a guest spot in the latest Street Fighter.
Don't forget the fighting game dev round table they were doing back at the end of SF5's lifespan. it was PRETTY CLEAR those devs wanted to work together then if they all got together for collective reveals and celebrating each other publicly
One thing that kinda makes me think this is indeed a bigger deal than we think is because Capcom actually WANTED to promote this as a big deal. They could probably show Bison and the SF fans would be pleased from the summer game fest, but they actually had an entire animation dedicated to hype this crossover. It may be looking way in too deep, after all, being the first crossover characters on a SF game is a big enough deal, but i dont know. My guts tell me that there is a reason why Capcom pushed the announcement in such a big stage, when you could think Terry and Mai are niche characters, Bison alone would get more casual reactions.
I always wondered how many kids got that demo disc that came with the PS1 in 1995/96 that had KOF on it. Because of that demo disc, Terry was one of the first fighting game characters I remember.
This very morning, my brother and I were having a conversation over this. My brother believes that this DLC is Capcom "testing the waters" as he put in. If it is successful, the possibility of a brand new CVS game would grow higher. I added to the subject, since I believe that SNK should answer in turn and add a Capcom character to the City of the Wolves roster. My brother and I agreed on which character should be: Ken. It's _got_ to be Ken. It *_must_* be Ken. Although I do fancy the idea of a compilation of all the CVS games. EDIT AS OF OCTOBER: And lo and behold, the CVS games *_are_* in a brand new Fighting Collection and Ken *_is_* coming to City of the Wolves. I just didn't expect that Chun-Li was coming along for the ride, though.
I would rather have a capcom team in the next KOF (XVI) when it comes out in a few years, that would be amazing! but it would be really hard for me to pick the 3 members.
If I had a nickel for every time Terry was added as a dlc character to a fighting game that featured Ryu and Ken and released in Autumn, I'd have 2 Nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
One thing I've seen people speculating as the "next step" from this is for either Street Fighter characters to appear as guest characters in City of the Wolves, or for King of Fighters to end up getting a "Team Street Fighter" in it. I could see Capcom letting that happen as a testing ground before SNK gets to do "SNK vs Capcom 2".
Both Street Fighter and Fatal Fury were created by Takashi Nishiyama, it can be seen as a nice tribute to him. Very glad Fatal Fury was the first 3rd party game to make an appearance in the Street Fighter world, it couldn't be another fighting game. Capcom is the best.
This is just starting to become a thing. No me expects a game announcement. But you know for fact since Terry and Mai are coming, they had to same conversation about Akuma and a plus one to fly out to Southtown If they are having these conversations, it sounds pretty promising
Sf6 has been quite fun all around for me, but I just want a new main, and the new boys and girls aren't for me. This crossover really sparked my interest for the game again
I think the reason Terry and Mai were added as guest characters in Street Fighter 6 is because by the time Winter 2025 (January) Elena added comes, Fatal Fury City of the Wolves will be released. However there should an exchange in which any Street Fighter character as guest in the upcoming Fatal Fury game mentioned.
Making Itsuno and fans choose between Devil May Cry 6 and CVS3 is beyond cruel. It's actually been so long now since Devil May Cry 5 that a remale of the first game has actually become a real possible option for Capcom to pursue. I would bet Itsuno wouldn't hesitate to jump on CVS3 or Rival Schools 3 though. Opportunities like this don't come often. I do think people should delete the idea of it being 3v3/2v2/tag/assist based and expect something very different just like how the first two entries are massively different.
I don't get why he keeps saying these are the CvS versions, "The classic KoF versions" these are exactly what they look like in Fatal Fury???? Fatal Fury came before KoF, This is how Terry and Mai have always looked until Garou...
Terry's most iconic look is his Fatal Fury 2 one, with the sleeves on his shirt torn off, in his Fatal Fury 3 and Real Bout appearence the sleeves on his shirt were intact. But from Real Bout Special onwards he kept his FF2 appearence, save for his Mark of the Wolves look being used in KoF 2003 and XI, and he also had an original look in KoF XIV
I'm not hugely into Street Fighter having guest characters, but now that it's happening, I'm glad they went with Fatal Fury guests. Those characters feel like they could belong in Street Fighter, although it would've been cooler to see a City of Wolves version of Terry since the Street Fighter cast has also been visually aged up from their early appearances. Regardless, as long as they stick with guest characters that can make sense in the world of Street Fighter, I guess I'm cool with it. If they start adding characters 2B, Geralt of Rivia, or other such unfitting characters just because they're popular, then I'm going to be a bit miffed.
Wtf are you talking about? Quit glazing sakurai. He didn't create crossover games and wasn't the first to put Terry Bogard in a different i.p. You Nintendo heads make me want to vomit.
We’re getting *Terry Bogard* in a Street Fighter game. I repeat. *We are getting Terry ‘Busterwolf’ Bogard.* For the first time in a long time, I can proudly say “Yes, Terry, I *_am_* okay. I’m very okay.*
Let's set the record straight. SNK has oil money, yes. But the Osaka studio, where the fighting game division is, won't be utilizing it. That's specifically going to their new Tokyo studio where they'll be exclusively making new IPs. COTW was in development long before the buyout. Edit: Okay it seems some people misunderstood my comment. This isn't in defense of SNK being owned by the Saudis, I personally don't care about that. I was more getting at how it wouldn't be a good idea for SNK to develop CvS3 (or SvC2). They won't have the budget to make the game presentable nor will they have the content for the casual audience.
The Saudi's bought around 5% stock of Capcom back in 2022. There's no way to really spin it into anything but "Yeah this sucks but I do want CVS3." The only way to show you care about the political aspect is simply not buying which nobody will do.
Love how a comment about people getting a potential snk vs Capcom game devolved into :it's owned by people that aren't Japanese so don't buy the game ,who tf cares who bought what ,if it gets the people a new snk vs Capcom game let the people enjoy it . Jeeze. Douche
I think that the reason Terry is like that is both CVS and that the Garou jacket is gonna be costume 2. This is definitely them testing the waters for a CVS3
Yeah, especially seeing how Terry and Mai wore their most iconic looks from Fatal Fury 2 while Elena and M. Bison had their new looks. Like Max said, Terry will probably have his Mark of the Wolves look, but Mai's alternate look is going to be interesting since she's never had another iconic look, there's her look from Fatal Fury 3 and Real Bout, but it wasn't that different from her original appearance, I know there's also her appearance from Maximum Impact but that doesn't really count. I'm wondering that if Mai appears as a playable character in City of the Wolves and she has a new look just like Terry and Andy have, maybe her alternate costume in SF6 would be that one
@@pablocasas5906 We already had her voice bite appear in the teaser trailer for CotW, she's all but confirmed, so I suspect she'll have a redesign alongside the rest of the returnees.
Now i gotta keep my ears open. For any Capcom related joke in the Wolervine and Deadpool movie. Let them mention the Street fighter universe once, the tin foil hat is ON
I mean….street fighter characters did randomly appear appear as silhouettes in a scene in a deadpool comic, as well as him doing a shoryuken to goad Wolverine to attack him
Oh man, with this opening the gates to guest characters, my mind was already imagining if they could manage to sneak a Marvel character in here. People would go nuts if they nabbed Spiderman/Miles, Doctor Doom, Hulk or She Hulk, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Kingpin, Daredevil, Magneto, there's so many possibilities that would fit the style of SF6 really well.
Akuma was in Tekken 7, and now Terry and Mai are coming to Street Fighter 6. Next time, we should have a Tekken character in KOF/FF (or the circle expands with another game).
All I ask is Capcom, please let SNK try again and give us SvC2. Their recent track record is so strong I think they'd kill it with SvC (and would give them the time to make it whilst they aren't under fret of going under).
10:45 - I'm old enough to remember when there were some people that wanted to see characters like Jin Satome, Strider, & Capt. Commando in CvS2, and I remember the attitude back then was that there were people wanted them to stay in Marvel because CvS was a "serious fighter." That's one of the things I did like about SvC: Chaos was their roster was more out-there. I agree with the notion that SNK should be the one to make a modern crossover if it comes.
Wasn't t SNK bought by Saudi's so they may be throwing some crazy cash incentives to studios for promoting their characters in the wider fighting game world and other platforms
@@人生百年渾沌不明 city of the wolf comes out in 2025 and Terry will be in Street Fighter 6 before that and Street Fighter is the bigger title. Having that further exposure to your main male and female character before your next release to stir interest to wider audience and create fans is a great marketing strategy. So more people will give City of the Wolves a go. Many people are not familiar with SNK characters because they grew up with more successful titles like Street fighter and Tekken. With this being first cross over characters in a mainline street fighter that's not another Capcom character (Asuka from Rival Schools) it's a pretty big deal.
@@skullfullofbats Street player wont tolerate the graphic of CotW. If SNK devs are smart enough, they wont think this promotion will work. So I still think they won throw money at CAPCOM for guest characters.
@@人生百年渾沌不明 perhaps. It's purely a theory. Many people are not concerned with graphics specially in fighting games and more open to seeing characters in different art styles, more so than actual graphical quality. Animation and move sets matter most. It's a good ploy. We are already seeing SNK developing old arcades titles, metal slug getting a tactical RPG, large amount of mobile games and merchandise from art books to plushies. This could be further investment in the future of SNK and potentially a further opportunity to gauge interest in reigniting an old partnership with Capcom for and VS game. Geese in Tekken 7 done a lot for sales and exposure.
Max, Im a huge FREAKIN FAN man since the beginning. I normally don't like to write comments on UA-cam and i don't have a twitch account but I've posted here and there on your videos before. I hope one day you read this post man, Idk if you ever noticed about the new Mark of the Wolves art style ? It reminds me a lot of an article that Japan released on April 1st many years ago on Capcom vs. SNK 3, If you ever search it again you can see that the post has a screenshot of CVS 3 game and that art style looks so much like the new Mark of the Wolves game but better. I feel that they might come out with a new CVS 3 game with Mark of the Wolves art style with comparison of the April 1st article. Especially with everything thats happening right now, with the first teaser of Mark of Wolves i knew something looked familiar with that art style. Hopefully we can finally get a Capcom vs Snk 3 !
This might be Capcom testing waters to see if there's a reason to entertain the idea of CvS3. If KoF15 or the new Fatal Fury game is going to get a Street Fighter guest character then there's a bigger chance for us to receive a very long-awaited crossover between two fighting game giants later down the line (unfortunately, that'd be in like 3-4 years from now on at best if things will go the way we want them to imo).
Yeah especially since the Tekken X Street fighter part of the collab seems absolutely dead due to the failure of the Street Fighter x Tekken. My personal tin foil hat theory is that including Akuma in Tekken 7 was somewhat of a salvaging of whatever was in development for Tekken x Street Fighter before it got canned.
@@luketfer That is absolutely correct. Fahkumram doesn't resemble Sagat in sillhouette and nationality just by accident. It's more an open secret at this point.
"We haven't gotten a new fighting game collection in over 2 years and usually Capcom releases a collection every 2-ish years, and we haven't gotten one yet." Well. It wasn't SNK. But it was probably even better.
I feel like I'm the only one not terribly surprised by this news. Part of SNK's strategy to rebuild their brand as as one of the foremost players in the fighting game space has been to put their characters into as many different fighting game franchises as they could. Terry is also in Smash Ultimate and Fighting EX Layer, Mai and Kula Diamond are in DOA6, Haohmaru is in Soul Calibur VI, and Geese Howard is in Tekken 7 with Akuma. There are probably some others I'm forgetting. SNK getting a character into a Street Fighter game (and Street Fighter inevitably relenting on guest characters) seemed inevitable. Maybe Rugal will be in MK1 next. That would be surprising.
My problem isn't that there are Guests in SF6; my issue is that in a 4 character pass, two of the characters are Guests, and both are from the same series, while a huge section of the SF roster is still benched. If it was a larger pass (say 5 or 6 characters) or Capcom had just picked Terry OR Mai, I think people would be a lot less annoyed. It's cool that SNK is included in SF finally, but getting TWO reps before people finally get Dudley, Viper, Makoto, Sean etc. back is frustrating. For comparison, SFV's Season 2 was: Akuma, Kolin, Abigail, Menat and Zeku. I think it's extra frustrating for Viper players because Capcom CONSTANTLY name drops and shows Viper off or mentions her in-game, and then just never does anything with it.
8:58 SVC chaos plus is a mod on the arcade version to be able to play as all the hidden bosses But the console version of SVC chaos already lets you do that Also it would be neat for match of the millenium to join the collection so we can have online play
I'm just happy both these companies are in a position to make this crossover at all. Ten years ago Capcoms reputation was in the gutter and snk was a fucking pachinko company. The fgc has truly made it out of the mud if these two are able to do this crossover and everyone is happy about it.
I think it's great that Capcom and SNK's relations is clearly very healthy. It is kind of suspicious that they opted for the Capcom vs. SNK outfit. 8:44 YES!! This is what I've been asking for the longest time! 1. Capcom vs SNK Legacy Collection -- Capcom vs. SNK -- Capcom vs. SNK PRO -- Capcom vs. SNK 2 -- Capcom vs. SNK EO -- SVC Chaos: SNK vs. Capcom 2. Capcom vs. SNK 3 3. SVC Chaos 2 Maybe if this happens and does well, by some miracle maybe Disney will allow Capcom to make a Marvel vs. Capcom collection and a proper Marvel vs. Capcom 4.
Wasn't Mai in like the first voiced trailer for COTW? We've known she's gonna be in the game almost the entire time Also not sure why he kept saying they're not the fatal fury designs just because Garou and COTW redesigned Terry
Man it feels surreal that these two are in SF6!! as for their costumes funny thing is nakayama san the director of SF6 is the biggest fan of fatal fury real bout 2 and mai has her costume from that game!! Same with Terry! He's a fatal fury fan and i am sure when we see more details he's gonna talk about these stuff in detail! I really cannot wait 😭❤
I get the historical context and all... But this is the same situation MK is getting where 50% of the DLC is guest characters where characters that didnt get to return for decades in their own franchise get to sit out again for potentially another decade. I'll give capcom that at the very least these are videogame characters that also has a history of interacting with SF characters (heck i'd be the first to be excited if they added Allen Snider or even Ramlethal) but this on top of the fact they could not commit to a new vilain without returning Bison for 1 game... If that becomes the standard for later seasons, if you have a niche pick for your most wanted like Necro or something you better rely on luck cause otherwise its just not happening in sf6 and its another decade of waiting..
To be fair nich picks are going to be long shots no matter what you have to remember they want to sell the DLC to as many people as possible and you just don't get that with Necro
People will always miss out in some way. Guest characters are not going going away anytime soon in fighting games. Smash Bros Ultimate showed other companies how hype guest characters are (probably profits ofc too.) It's similar to Capcom making remakes of Resident Evil games. There will always be people who complain they didn't do the OG camera angles on the old games or changed a lot of the game to make it fresh. I'm not saying those opinions are wrong. I'm saying it's impossible to fulfill expectations of everybody's wish for the next fighter(s) in a fighting game. Especially for franchises that have existed for 20+ years.
The Bison thing is what I'm most upset over. He looks so cool and I'm probably gonna play him but JP is just non existent now and I thought he was a really rad new villain
One point of confusion for me, why does Max refer to Terry and Mai as this being their CvS outfits? These are their normal, default, character designs - is it not?
I'd even go as far as to say that they are wearing their Fatal Fury costumes. Not CvS, not KoF, not any other crossover game, but OG Fatal Fury costumes.
It's also crazy they straight added *two* guests from the same franchise at once. Most crossovers in fighting games typically just have one at a time, so you know they're confident about this.
MVC was great from the novelty of seeing comic book characters in a Capcom game, but Capcom vs SNK was the real culmination of 90’s arcade fighters for me.
Max is completely on the same wavelength as me. I hope SNK gets to make SNK vs Capcom. The roster will be insane because both Capcom and SNK have so much more to pull from now. Also it's a crime that there was never an SNK rep in Project X Zone.
As much as I'd love to see another CvS, having Terry and Mai being a guest characters is confirmation that it's not happening anytime soon. My reasoning is that bringing them in is a cheaper and more quicker return on investment. I mean in the last 10 years how many times have guest characters in games resulted in a follow up cross-over? Hoping to be wrong and willing to admit it but as always my faith in the people calling the shots at these companies isn't strong.
I just really hope Capcom doesn't start making their main focus only crossover characters for SF6. Super excited for Terry, but I really wanna see more returning fighters reimagined for SF6. That said, if they can pull in SF EX characters, Skullomania would be perfect.
Max saying that he would love to see Dudley and Sean show up in Street Fighter 6 makes me happy and speaks volumes. Glad to know that I am not the only one who had fingers crossed for those two fighters to be revealed. Hopefully Capcom hears our plea.
I'll also add Dead or Alive and Virtua fighter to the mix. Other games like Guilty Gear , Darkstalkers and Samurai Shodown should also crossover, but those have more weird characters
Sherry Nhan, thank you for looking out for Marn. 1 of our FGC brothers. And Marn, I do wish you a heathy & speedy recovery. Get well soon if you can my friend 🙏
If Street Fighter limits its crossovers to SNK and maybe Namco, but mostly just SNK, I think I'm okay with it. What I don't want is something like what Mortal Kombats after 9 have been, which is effectively MK X WB. Don't just draw crossovers from anywhere. If Capcom limits its crossovers to its compatriots in classic fighting game history, mostly SNK, I'm okay with that. Be very discriminating.
The thing that bums me out about this is that it now feels less likely that we get guest characters from the less well known capcom games. Akira was amazing in 5, and also got me hyped up because I loved Rival Schools. When guest characters frkm actually popular game series from other companies are on the table, why would they keep bringing in characters from things like Rival Schools? And its not like Capcom are going to make a new Rival Schools game - so this was the only place I'd get to see those characters come back. I'd be way more excited if we got someone like Leo from Red Earth even. We're never getting a new Red Earth game, but we'll keep getting new KoF games. That's why the Terry and Mai reveals left me feeling disappointed.
I'm imagining a game where Mega Man and Metal Slug characters exist and fight together, two pillars of my childhood, and I think I would cry if that was real.
10:05 100% SNK, I'd love to see what they'd do now considering how great KoFXV is (favourite modern FG atm) and how Fatal Fury is shaping up. As for Mai & Terry I suspect since Mai hasn't offically been revealed yet (we heard her voice in the 1st teaser though) I suspect their CotW designs will be saved for costume 2 and instead go with their classic designs now.
Speaking of crossovers in Street Fighter, I'm still a little sad that Yor Forger wasn't a guest character. But getting what's pretty much a bite-sized Capcom vs SNK is awesome. I hope we get a new Capcom vs SNK.
I almost believe for a fact that this means capcom vs snk 3 is in the works. If it was just terry, than it would be an interesting guest character, but with the inclusion of another snk character like mai. I am almost sure they already worked on other less popular characters from snk, on the RE engine! Let alone, capcom is doing a cross over with street fighter for the first time here. Capcom vs snk 3 is confirmed here, im calling it!
If we ever get an SNK vs. CAPCOM 3, I want something akin to - (for lack of a better term) a '4-Groove' that gives characters an FADC. LMAO I mean think about it; We had previous grooves that gave rolls, running, parrying, multiple supers, so why not one that gives FADC?
I've been thinking about this since the announcement... It's a mending of bridges between the two companies, a lot like how Rare games keep popping up on the Switch. Capcom and SNK seem genuinely interested in working together again, and if this is the foot in the door for a CVS3 to be made, then it's all the better for everyone.
SNK flagship game series King of Fighters would be perfect to add guest characters from Capcom as a whole team. Athena in KOF meets M.Bison facing off with their Psycho Power.
Absolutely opens the floodgates for anything. Also - with amount of concentrated thirst in this game now, if Morrigan doesn’t end up in SF6 I’ll eat several hats.
It shouldn't open the floodgates for everything tho, that's a big fear people have and I understand it coming from MK where their reliance on guests ruined rosters in those games. Capcom should be really sparing with guest characters
@@iceman00behave see that's fine, I'd even take Heihachi or another Tekken character but they just have to be smart with it. Freddy Kruger was cool and funny in MK9 and I feel like the series has just been suffering from that decision ever since
Max, those aren't the "KOF" versions of Terry and Mai. Those have always been their classic Fatal Fury looks. Hell, Mai specifically is based on her "Real Bout Fatal Fury" design. Not saying that a CVS3 couldn't happen, but these designs were chosen because they're easily the most iconic. When you're adding in guest characters, it's best to go with the versions that most people would be familiar with. They've used these versions in other crossovers because of how iconic they are.
They have been teasing this for forever. CVS image in the SF6 Lil Wayne trailer. So many teasers in world tour, I literally heard a female background character say "hahaha buster wolf" just walking around. It's been in our faces the entire time
I’m both excited and disappointed at the same time. I’m glad they are including characters from other franchises, but if we are getting only 4 DLC characters a season with the paltry initial character roster then many favorites are going to left out of this game and that is unfortunate.
I noticed Mais design is absolutely her classic look, without her ninja Tabi socks, and Terry looks as classic as he can look, so they are certainly paying homage to their original designs, and I’m personally all for that!
Whether it's cvs or svc, to me the coolest thing about it would be having the groove system return. Yes, it's cool when they have a big crossover cast, but having crossover mechanics was the USP to me.

All I have to say is Takashi Nishiyama. One of the two creators of Street Fighter and creator of Fatal Fury.
These aren't just regular guest characters.
And he also founded Dimps, who was the developer responsible for Street Fighter IV
Going off this logic, a few other series to watch out for:
* Darkstalkers
* Art of Fighting
* Mega Man (not a fighter but yes)
* Fighting Layer/SFEX
* The Rumble Fish
This is basically going full circle on how both franchises were made. Quite clever
We must never forget, keep on reminding em.
Considering we havent seen Mai's redesign yet probably wouldn't want to spoil that.
Garou Terry is 1000% gonna be his alt
I'm also wondering, what it is going to be Terry's stage? He has had a lot of very iconic stages, particularly the train from Fatal Fury 2 and Mark of the Wolves, but I also like the beach stages from Fatal Fury 3 and Real Bout Special and there's also the desert from Real Bout 2 which was featured in KoF XIII.
As for Mai, I hope that's not similar to Ryu's stage in this game, with the sakura tree, since she had a similar-looking stage in RB2
They probably want one look that is easily recognizable in different styles. If you saw him in Smash you will recognize him in SF6.

The designs are specifically based off their Fatal Fury designs and it's definitely a crossover related to said series rather than just KOF, the reason why we haven't seen their COTW designs is because Mai's look wasn't revealed as of yet so they'll probably be alternate costumes.

At first I thought this was just funny. But then I started thinking about this unironically.
Niche characters to kids who wasn't around when arcade games ment something.
WTH! niche characters? really?, not everyone is American, Asians in general love SNK and they are a huge market, also Latin America loves SNK too
Niche for US, for the rest of the world are huge Deal.

There's no way to really spin it into anything but "Yeah this sucks but I do want CVS3."
The only way to show you care about the political aspect is simply not buying which nobody will do.

I still cant believe that this is happening!
All I ask is Capcom, please let SNK try again and give us SvC2. Their recent track record is so strong I think they'd kill it with SvC (and would give them the time to make it whilst they aren't under fret of going under).

This might be Capcom testing waters to see if there's a reason to entertain the idea of CvS3. Well. It wasn't SNK. But it was probably even better.
While I do think CvS3 is a possibility, I feel like it either be outsourced or made by SNK since they aren’t exactly well-known to the masses.
Stay salty.

Smash Bros Ultimate showed other companies how hype guest characters are (probably profits ofc too.)
It's similar to Capcom making remakes of Resident Evil games.

I'll also add Dead or Alive and Virtua fighter to the mix. Other games like Guilty Gear , Darkstalkers and Samurai Shodown should also crossover, but those have more weird characters
BTW, these are their original Fatal Fury designs. TBH I haven’t bought SF6 until this announcement! So hyped. Bring it on!

I have never seen such a mediocre joke be run into the ground so fast yet people still think it’s funny for some reason

@@Kirbymaster105 HA!....haven't heard that one before
Sherry Nhan, thank you for looking out for Marn.
I guess some Misc. Capcom characters would be fine, though less so if they're not from dormant IP.
While Im not completely against guest characters.
But Id rather have a full on cross over game over this
I'm imagining a game where Mega Man and Metal Slug characters exist and fight together, two pillars of my childhood, and I think I would cry if that was real.
Technically its already real. SvC Chaos has Mars People as the Metal Slug representation and Zero
@@ezelalia5739 Naaah, I need to see Eri, Fio, and Roll hanging out while Marco, Tarma, Rock, and Zero talk shop about their weapons and how they work.
LMAO
I mean think about it; We had previous grooves that gave rolls, running, parrying, multiple supers, so why not one that gives FADC?
Capcom vs Snk >>>>> marvel vs capcom ANY DAY!
I bet there will be tekken characters also in sf6
SNK flagship game series King of Fighters would be perfect to add guest characters from Capcom as a whole team.
Athena in KOF meets M.Bison facing off with their Psycho Power.
Absolutely opens the floodgates for anything.
Also - with amount of concentrated thirst in this game now, if Morrigan doesn’t end up in SF6 I’ll eat several hats.
It shouldn't open the floodgates for everything tho, that's a big fear people have and I understand it coming from MK where their reliance on guests ruined rosters in those games. Capcom should be really sparing with guest characters
@@aledantih6524That may be true, but Morrigan is at least from a Capcom game, and not some multimedia pop culture character from a different company.
@@iceman00behave see that's fine, I'd even take Heihachi or another Tekken character but they just have to be smart with it. Freddy Kruger was cool and funny in MK9 and I feel like the series has just been suffering from that decision ever since
Very excited to see how they translate Terry into sf6. I hope he’s got a sick level 3.
Bro I don't care what anyone says, I can fight KEN AS TERRY AFTER 20 YEARS.
YEAH!
LET'S GOOOOO!!!!

BIG FAN OF BOTH series, and yes I am hype for this news.
Yeah, very confused about the KOF comment, this is just good ol’ Terry and Mai.
@@chazmaru9583 Max is extremely ignorant when it comes to SNK, so it's not very surprising he would pull that out of his ass.
They have been teasing this for forever. CVS image in the SF6 Lil Wayne trailer. So many teasers in world tour, I literally heard a female background character say "hahaha buster wolf" just walking around. It's been in our faces the entire time
I'm still processing that trailer
