Awesome series. Proof of some very HIGH quality voice casting can be heard around 6:10; you can almost taste and feel the anger in Cmd. Makara. The way she spits out the retreat order; totally awesome. Add the high quality voice actors to an even high quality sound track and then it becomes obvious why this is such a big hit with people who've seen (and lived!) the series.

Star Fleet X Bomber was strange a mixture of Thunderbirds are Go and Voltron and since I was coming at it for the first time during the later part of series I couldn't make heads or tails of what I was watching. However it did leave a lasting impression in my memory, and I always wondered later on in my life: "What was that Voltron/Thunderbird that I saw back in the early 80's?" Well now I know, and knowing is half the battle!
I,m close to 39, and have this on dvd, Cool series and i still watch this, brilliant series by go-nagai on lwt at 11.30 am on sunday. Remember this well-Dr.benn voice by peter marinker is also the voice of Capatain goto on the Patlabor movies as well.
Im 50 years old and loved this show. Spent many hours trying to build X-Bomber out of lego but failed miserably. Had the hots for Lamia & commander macarra reminded me of my mother in a bad mood. Wish someone would remake it

I saw the New Captain Scarlet CGI series. It's quite good, indeed, they managed to keep the original's dark tone pretty well. Also, a remake of the Thunderbirds series had been planned some time ago, apparently using a combination of CGI and advanced electronic puppets, unfortunately the project was shelved and never developped. I think you can find a trailer for it around UA-cam.

Only noticed this recently the assimilation of Picard by the Borg from Star Trek TNG is predated by 2 episodes of this programme . Makara who is the queen / commander mental manipulating of one of the heroes allies then has him fitted with cybernetic implants and used against his former comrades . Maybe superficial to some but they’ll get over it 😁
O.K i might have been a bit hasty and made a mistake ...your quite right ;Thunderbirds' live action movie was a total flop ..... I just thought this would be great as a movie and with the advanced puppetry like ypu said or even CGI this and even thunderbirds would be quitte spectacular ... i know they did a CGI version of Captain Scarlett but only as a tv series ! shame really cause that would be great as a live action movie with the right producer and actors !!... Captain Scarlet I mean ! LOL
