Hi all,
I like being able to automate everything. Using a simple skill called WOL skill, I can use the built in 'wake on lan' function on my PC to let Alexa control. This also works with routines.
Based on Wol " Wake ON LAN"
I used -
Mother Board - ASUS ROG Strix B365-G Gaming mATX Gaming Motherboard
Amazon Echo dot 3
Jio Fiber Network
Watch the full video and make and learn things simple!
This method required only LAN connection
No need Home Assistant App
No need BLYNK
No need IFTTT
No need Microcontrollers and relay

Is "AllorAcessFromS5" Correct? or do i swich "S5" to Alexa/EchoDot o smthing like that? i did every step but the app doesnt find my computer as a device

@@nawfdom I did it but i don't think its worth it , so you need to check in the BIOS the network which you are using if is WIFI you need to use that one for the website, and to allow full control, if you are using LAN you need to check also the setting in BIOS to be always wake plus to go on properties and select there to allow, I don't remember now where did it couple of months ago, anw the fix is that the MAC added on that website needs to use the one which you are using , preferably if you have PC with LAN get those information alone , hope this helps

Worked for me when I went to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings
then Turned off fast startup

Not need , Works on LAN and communicate with alexa over internet , So no need any bluetooth adapters
In 'Wake on Lan Alexa Skill' can I log in with Amazon India email id and password or I have to give Amazon USA email id & password? The Amazon Alexa app in my mobile is logged in with Amazon India email id & password? Will it create problem in linking Wake on Lan?

Bro "Wake On LAN " WOL method is only for turn on the pc using lan , If you want shutdown means , Its complicated , need cmd scripts that always running in the background and gets the trigger command from IoT web platform , So its kinda mess to doo .., Otherwise you fix a relay switch inside your PC power button and control them using IoT apps.
won't work if you need to restart because the computer has hung. Create a smart switch that connects to the power buttton and it can be powered on or off.

hey, so i did the same as you did with the allowfromS5 and the wake on lan enabled in the bios via the wake on lan app without alexa i can turn on the pc directly. but in the Alexa app it does not find the PC. it is plugged into a regular power strip. how do i get it to start with alexa? @@SarvsElectric So as I said, I set wake on lan in the bios. I have set this allowfromS5 on the pc. and everything done like you. BUT he does not find the PC in the Alexa app. heist he cannot be turned on via alexa via wakeonlan

hi bro tried doing every step but when it comes to discovering the computer on alexa app, my computer cannot be found. any solutions on this? i connected my echo dot to 5ghz and my phone to 5ghz and then my computer is connected via lan cable on the same router

I did everything but the switch in the app does nothing. Also it says as soon as I switch the switch: "You cannot control this device, even as part of groups or routers"

It could ON even in the complete shutdown! , make sure your pc is connected with LAN

I put my mac address, and did the device maneger part and the enabled it from bios, and then added the skill and enabeled it. but still not working..

btw i have used the app "wake on lan" and it worked. but on Alexa nothing happen when saying to power on the pc.

We have long resisted getting an Echo. We couldn't run new wiring (which would have been expensive if we could), so we got our first Echo which completely solved our problem for about $40 (Echo Dot and smart plug). We just ask Alexa to turn on/off that light. Heartily recommend it to solve this kind of conundrum!

I made all steps but in the end my Alexa doesn't find any devices named "computer".
It’s going to be named whatever your pc name is . Once it shows no new devices back out to Home Screen and it will be at the top it will say something like “1 new device found”

You have to restart your PC and quicky press F2, before the windows logo appears. It will enter to the bios Setting with a different appearance from windows.
