Superb, as usual. I always love the 30sec snippets (4.10) with no other sound other than the wind blowing across the hills. I'd love to see you do The Peaks of the Balkans cirque. Thanks for sharing again.
Stunningly beautiful film, Jim. The longer duration worked a treat for me, a bit more space and felt more like we were on the journey with you. The rolling mist (timelapse?) was glorious, as were the clear water shots, the salmon (I think?) the icing on the cake. Fantastic stuff! Colin
Thanks.☺️ I think it worked better being a bit longer too. Yes, that was a timelapse. I’m always in two minds whether to include timelapses as the sudden change in pace can be a bit jarring. Hopefully that wasn’t the case this time. Thanks for watching.
Quiet, subtle and serene, as always. You could have tried to beef it up, given the location, but you didn't. i liked the inclusion of more natural sounds, they are as much a part of where you go as the visuals. Beautiful work.
So true Steve. I love the sound of the wind in the mountains. I was hoping to record the calls of alpine choughs too but they were always a bit far away. Should have some of their calls in my next film. Thanks for watching and for your support. I really appreciate it.
I really want to go back to Sarek. Northern Sweden is probably my favourite place on Earth. I thought about going this autumn but I'm kind of busy so it may have to wait until next year. Thanks so much for your support. It means a lot to get such positive feedback. :-)
11:43 That alpine lake is so pretty! This video is also full of beautiful shots. 16:07 Beer never tasted better! l really like the atmosphere captured in this video, thanks for sharing.
07:20- J.M.Blanc- does it stands for Jim Manthorpe Blanc? 🤔 Jim, is it altitude related- you look younger and younger, soon you'll need to bring ID to your local pub/off licence, maybe take a short break? Jocking- thank you for your outstanding ambient movies, really, very impressive and peaceful. 🤝 ...where is your green backpack, we miss it already... 😜
JM - great initials 😊 Not sure I’m looking any younger but thanks. My knees certainly don’t feel any younger. I usually use the bigger green backpack when I’m taking my tent and other gubbins but was travelling light on this one because I was staying in refugios. It was lovely to be hiking with a lighter pack!

It’s nice to hear the sounds of the mountains. Glad you appreciate that too. Would love to hike in the Balkans. Looks wonderful there.
Outstanding scenery my friend, shots are breathtaking!
Thanks ☺️ In my opinion the best region of the Pyrenees. Really stunning landscape.

Your films always have a deep impact on me. Very soulful. I could watch you all day climbing mountains. Will you film in Sarek again?
