    Abdominal Self-Massage for Constipation
    There are three optimal times for your self massage for constipation that will be covered in this video.
    Abdominal massage is one of the best ways to solve constipation. Emotionally, constipation is about holding on, controlling what we feel like we can’t control to have a bowel we have to feel safe to let go. So self massage can help us to relax and release. Usually you will feel the need to clear your bowels after doing this abdominal self-massage for constipation.
    1. Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor
    2. Rub your hands together until they are warm
    3. Take your first two fingers (index and middle) and make clockwise circles around your navel
    4. Now massage your large intestine. Start from the bottom right hand side, go across the top and then go down the bottom left side. Circline 9-18 times as you move up, across and down. If you find a painful spot or knot, spend more time there.
    5. To massage your small intestines, come into the area inside of the large intestines. Now make small circles in this inner circle 3-9 times as you circle back into the navel.

    I am a former colostomy patient missing a small part of my colon. The bloating and the constipation is agonizing and I get so tired of living off of MiraLAX hoping these massages work thank you.

    The optimal manner to relieve a constipation will always be to take early in the morning on an empty stomach 1 tablespoon (15 ml) castor oil.

      Castor oil will not cause habit forming?

      @@lizacouch8248 In no case, for castor oil works not directly in the intestines by irritating them but indirectly by activating or synthesizing certain substances in the human body. So you may take castor oil regularly even for decades without any weakening effects..

    You are supposed to put your knees up with feet flat on surface - NOT LIE FLAT!
