- One table, 10 chairs, and 20 courses, in a secret location. This is UltraViolet. The master chef behind it is Paul Pairet. It's located in Shanghai, China. It takes the World's 50 Best Restaurants list by storm, and Time magazine calls it one of the world’s greatest places. In 2017, it gets 3 Michelin stars.

Bravo! This video exudes class, from the production quality to the little details. Never stop, Alex!
@Seriously...Yeah he should have just said "nice vid bro" right and alex goes to these places in flip flops?
@Seriously... you must be a popular person in the real life :)
Another great video
@@jacksonchan6822he is overly pretentious, you virtual white knight you
@@adihasla801s if popularity is desirable. Brushing others with sweet empty words just to gain fake likeness. What a horrible way to live. The whole planet doesn't need to align to American non-valuse - fake, fat and foolish
regardless of the food quality - this one of those great ideas that would make any experience amazing - i can see this being expanded edit: wow they gave a mushroom course without a single truffle? love it
It seems that the lights and theatrics are the main course. I guess I have to dine there to see if it's worth it. I've been to places with too much video glitz and it was distracting unfortunately
There are other places like this. Europapark in Germany has Eatrenalin which basically is this concept in a different form.
@@kverreet How is the find sans theatrics?
@@NoahEats I'd imagine their food is amazing as well otherwise they wouldn't get the 3 stars.
@@NoahEats No idea, didn't visit, only saw it there when passing by on a business trip
What a fascinating experience! Absolutely fabulous filming, giving us a hint of what Ultraviolet is about while preserving the mystery for those wishing to experience it themselves..
And he does it on his phone too
wrgg
Your channel has earned so much cred it surely can't get a flat no to film. Appreciate a peek into experience. Thanks to you and the chef!
I'm sure Alexander cut out alot to honor the restaurants wishes
wrr, no such thign as earnx or etc
This gives so much vibe from the Menu movie
I totally believe that the experience can be overwhelming, but I get that this is amazing entertainment. Thank you, another great video!
This is one of my fave vids from you Alex what a wondrous food experience, pls come back to Shanghai!
yoooo first alexander the great your videos are so awesome. keep doing what youre doing
Man I love this channel. I was definitely not expecting Alex to say "Ghost in the Shell" and to share a brief synopsis of the show. My inner nerd screamed haha.
I can't props you enough for keeping us satisfied with amazing content, and keeping the word from the management. Amazing!
Alex does a great job!
Alex is my favourite together with ThisIsS3
@nickvdb7612 thanks for the recommendation. I hope to bring those experiences to my videos as well.
no such thing as takex or lx or kx or etc, idts
Ive been waiting wuite a whie for you to visit this restaurant, needless to say I was very excited to watch
I was eagerly waiting for ultraviolet thank you for showing this
Another well made video for sure. Always a treat to see the places you visit. For me personally, I can't think of something I want LESS than such a faff surrounding my meal, but interesting to see nonetheless.
So excited to watch this!!! 😆
You have done it again Alexander!. Nice concept and editing.
I hope I can do something similar!
Amazing video! can't wait to see what's next. Maybe the Librije in my hometown ;)
Alright! I have been waiting for this one!
Glad to see you're posting this when I'm eating! :)
Amazing video, once again!
I've been eating canteen food most of my time in China but not sure how and when Ultraviolet made it to my bucket list, shame I left Shanghai after two years without ever going there but oh boy I'll be back! love the short video + the occasional blur to keep some mistery.
on the bill part since UVC+ bookings are 6800 rmb I think it should be around 1730 eur for two...
I love your channel - I would have never guessed you are Hungarian. My fiancé is also Hungarian - so I am learning Hungarian now - can´t wait to go to Budapest again in December!
Great as always
Great vídeo.... Luv the channel.... Time to start the next one......ALMOST MICHELIN.... Great restaurants without the visibility they deserve. It would be great with your enthusiasm about food. Cheers!
I went for my birthday last year and it was the best food-based experience I have had by a long way. In terms of getting to know your servers/discuss wine etc we had an opportunity after the meal. They have a small bar in the entranceway that you're welcome to stay in and drink for free for as long as you like. We stayed with the two servers (actually one of them was also your server in the video) and chatted about all kinds of stuff for another hour and a bit after the meal.

Not sure I would spend on this one, but it looks amazing, the whole (immersive) experience. Wow!
This restaurants it gives *THE MENU* (film) vibes! :))
One of the more unique videos of yours. Did you have a favorite course even if you didn't film it?
That would be great to know!
Alexander: I am a former Executive Chef of a small (but high end) operation.
I subscribed for your excellent content and honest reviews.
I have *very* mixed feelings about this particular dinner. It almost had a haunted house/escape room vibes to start.
I couldn't tell if you legitimately enjoyed the meal.
I'm sure this is an incredible operation, but it seems *very* niche and I question if the food is really the star. I'd welcome you're reply, Sir
Well it’s 3 Michelin Stars if you know what I mean©️
@@goodvibes9611that 3 Stars doesnt mean everything - and im coming from the high end Hospitality.
Agree, it doesn't appeal to me at all...its almost a freak show at times...i prefer, comfort and ambiance
My experience there was that the food was excellent. It was a mix of some perfect served courses and a few courses that were more interactive.
I'd love if Alexander would make a video about this topic@@etienne1827
Omg i never heard of this place in my entire time in shanghai! I will definitely have to visit again
Thank you Alexander for your insights.! You may consider visiting also Victor's Fine Dining by Christian Bau someday in Germany.
It was my wedding gift to my wife hehe ;) it was amazing and the best food experience we ever had to this date...totally worth it (i.e. value for price, especially if I compare to other fine dining experiences!)!
I think that unfortunately Pairet doesn't get enough credit for this creativity and how many other "successful"/similar/copy-cat places have copied or at least taken very strong "inspiration" from his concepts without even crediting or mentioning him...or even denying it when it was quite obvious!
Wow, the greatest gift ever 🙌
Wow thats super cool! The place was in a old neighbourhood too haha, normally old people walk around here and stair at people. As an expat in Shanghai since 10years back I would never thought we had this experience here but heeey its Shanghai.
Nice place, nice video. Reminds me of Eatrenalin in Rust, germany, which is also an experience you never forget.
Wonderful episode, like always.
Your chanell is a next level YT "Talking about food" world👌
Hope you come to Spain soon! Here you have 13 restaurants with 3 michelin stars that you'll like for sure!
Impressive! The projection technology on the tables appears very similar to Le Petit Chef restaurant on Celebrity cruise ships.
The Petit chef is now in NYC
seriously, the cost is insignificant when weighed against the experience. amazing!
Plans for Alchemist in Copenhagen?
Another amazing video and experience
“I love to see Champagne in the wine pairing.” Coming from the guy that orders Krug at almost every meal, we all already knew this! 😂
Looks amazing.
Thanks for letting us experience this.
Agreed
honestly refreshing to see something unique
I met Chef Paul in Shanghai, he's cool, humble, down to earth .. great guy!
the table when you first walk in looks like it's out of a movie
Consider it like a movie set
That reminds me a little bit for eatrenalin in rust germany which is an absolut stunning fine dining experienve too
Normaly I'm not a big fan of such a show, couldn't think of a better word, when going out for dining just prefer to set more focus on the food and wine but I have to say this looks like a experience I'd love to have. If you compare to some other 3 star restaurants the pricing isn't outlandish and shanghai also isn't know as cheap plave to live.
It was an interesting showcase indeed
I’ve seen The Menu. I know how this will end…
Wonderful
you should go to dewakan nextt!!!
Of all the things to hear. I did not expect to hear Ghost in the Shell get brought up!
That looks amazing, even more so because the quality of the food doesn't take second string to the tech part.
You should go to the "De Librije" Netherlands, it is in a former prison. Its has 3 Michelin stars, the green Michelin star and also 19,5/20 points G&M!
Very good video! What’s the name of the song in the end when the names are displayed?
Should call this place VERTIGO. 😮
You do good things..
Another great video! I never miss one! My question is.... why is there a thumbs down button?
Thanks for sharing! Already looking forward to the next one!
Go to Schloss Schauenstein in the swiss mountains (would be great, and is even more amazing if you want to see the nature&mountains)
I also prefer a more natural setting as well
you have to try the alchemist in Copenhagen, it delivers a similar but arguably better experience !
You should visit Hiša Franko by Ana Roš - to highlight also a great female chef.
Try to visit the dessert dining at CODA
I love you bruh
I would love to dine here, but I wonder if the show somewhat distracts from the food.
"don't spoil the surprises for future guests"
they think we can afford this 😂
good one
Want.to.go.now!!!!❤
Lmao i did not expect Ghost in the Shell getting mentioned in one of your videos. Do you watch anime by any chance?
If your restaurant is half as good as your videos, you will have me as a guest sooner than you think!
So 5 courses per act. Seems cool, it's definitely on the pricer side. But given what it is, it also makes sense.
Is like "Disfrutar" in Ibiza.
The Menu vibes
Gimmicky and kitsch are the only words that come to mind.
Mr Alexander, I would like to see you visit Rayanne House in Belfast. It may not be a visit to a Michelin star restaurant, that seems to be the emphasis of this channel. But interestingly, the restaurant serves the recreation of the first class dinner that was served on the final night on the voyage aboard the Titanic. It gives the viewers a glimpse of what was opulent dining a century ago. Hope we get to see it.
That would be wonderful and sounds like a place I would love to try!
wrg
Michelin 3 star meets a rave.
Amazing. Great share
Was not expecting ghost in the shell
Reminds me of this restaurant, Hawthorne's. Too bad it burned down.
I thought it was gonna be like the movie, The Menu.
where can i buy the glasses frrom your outro ?
Pretty unique place but I might end up with a headache if I were to experience this in real. I prefer enjoying my food in peace ;)
Maybe this is one of your most avant-garde video
I wonder how many times he has told the bus that the driver only got his license that day.
"Old faithful", he calls it.
Do you have a link to the "Goose in the Sky" track?
These days they throwing 3 Stars even on a parking Lot in a backyard
This isn’t a restaurant - this is basically being in a movie set disguised as a restaurant
Appears to me more diversion than dining, thespian than cuisine. The last thing I'm looking for in a restaurant experience is sensory overload. How can the main actor - the food! - possibly be heard above that din? Pass...
Can you go to Le Gavroche before it closes for good please.
Wow
Hey! I have a genuine question. I am going there in July. We are staying at the Fairmount peace hotel which is litteraly a 2 minute walk to the meeting point. When the dinner ends, do they bring you back to the meeting point (Mr and Ms Bund). Thanks
This was the same menu I ate in 2017
This entertainment gastronomy is getting out of hand. But hey, pretty shure it’ll work in Dubai& Vegas too😉
Football agent Sandor Varga is there 😅 hehe
are those real UV lights? they'll burn your eyes if so
Park Row in London has a very similar thing but DC, specifically Batman based. Not quite as extensive as this though.
WHERE DO I SIGN UP?!
Visit Alchemist in Copenhagen Denmark
They do something in the same spirit
You should have not shown the outside of the secret restaurant, those geoguessers will find it in a heartbeat.
Haha, send us the coordinates!
Anyone know what wineglass it is at 5:14?
its wierd when the reality surpass the fantasy of parody cinema.
not even "the menu" got this far ;)
Lol, a very interesting concept
The EATRENALIN in Freiburg, Germany has a similar concept, but even with several rooms and moving chairs! No Michelin stars, but the food was superb. I was there just last week and it was an amazing experience!
Second comment!!
Im honestly curious what happens if people need to use bathroom? They just miss the show in the meantime?
Man, its so fucked that 95% of the people eating there have probably never seen ghost in the shell, meanwhile im just sitting here in awe 😩
