In this video, Eric Schliesser introduces Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406), the North African social theorist, historian, and polymath. He is best known for his massive book, the Muqaddimah "Introduction," which is simultaneously a work on method and empirically based political theory, social psychology, and political economy.
Eric Schliesser is professor of Political Science, with a focus on Political Theory at the University of Amsterdam.
