I’m watching your video as a pre-work tutorial for the same cameramen make for a GMC sierra. Thank you very much for taking the time to show the installation, walk-through of the features, and real world perspective operation.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for posting! Most others had install by the licence plate or tailgate. I’ve got a great back up camera already, so I don’t need that placement. Yours is exactly what I’ve been looking for 😊
All the new gmc have the camera in the same place perfect spot you choose
Thanks for the idea of the rear camara
Thanks. Getting ready to install on my Tundra
Very well experienced, was really helpful. Thnx
Great Job!
Great job ,thank you
Why didn't you buy a hardwire kit and connect directly to your fuse panel. Instead of running the power under the seat?
Bad ass honestly
Good job man
Nice install 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks 👍
I put the rear camera from the inside in my Silverado with a little hinge I got on Amazon for $6 same spot to
Link?
How can I find that part?
Nice tutorial! I like the set up you did with the back up cámara at the third brake light👍 I try to do the same but for some with the rear cámara at the third brake light but my back cámara looks upside down! I don’t know if you remove the cámara from the bracket and put it back upside down, 🤷♂️ but for me I can not put it like you did because the cámara point to the sky lol
There might be an option to invert the camera angle. Search it up on the option of the camera
@@FixitFelix529 I try that to and nothing. Witch model did you get? So I can get the same one
@@spartan2010100 click on the description of the video. The link is right there
Thanks
Your GPS should be installed on your dash not your windshield. That's why it says up on the top. Ty
Has there been any issues with leaking around the light? I tried installing inside the back window but I have 5% on my windows so at night I couldn’t see anything. Was hesitant to install on back window due to fear of it leaking water inside and weather wearing down the camera.
Thanks for this video man I was wondering if you had any issues using it daily
No issues at all. I am super happy with it 👍🏻
@@FixitFelix529 thank you I will now order mine!
This was very helpful to me.... except my Silverado has a center sliding window...power operated. Any suggestions? I can not pull the headliner out because of the window bar...When I tried to pry it from inside the back light assembly...it is 3 inches from the edge of the liner...
How did you end up installing it?
@@Enchiname_la_piel. Drilled a small hole at the edge of headliner. Ran the cable down behind the seat and under the weather

Hi there, I've been looking for videos to install a mirror dash cam on my Ram 1500 and yours is close to perfect. One question about outside installation: Can you give us your thoughts about how it operates when it rains? Any issue with drops blocking the view, smudges forming on the camera, etc? Thanks.
When it rains, you can still be able to see, but not that good
Where I live, it barely rains so on places that don’t rain too much is very good
How is it? Still works?
@@MrZACATECANO100 yes!
Nice job....thorough....
No problems with the water leaking around the 3rd brake light after install?
No leaks at all. Everything is working perfectly
fr.. i was wonderin
How do you get around the Head Shaking Chihuahua and those clothing beads hanging down on the headliner?
Is it live recording? Like for example if you were to get into an accident god forbid but you’ll have footage or no?
@@e7r7c yes it records live
@@FixitFelix529 awesome thanks!
The camera will eventually collect moisture from the rain and humidity. The best place for all rear cameras is on the inside rear glass.
Im wondering if anyone can confirm their wolfbox camera doing that, im thinking of doing exactly what he did but im not sure about putting the camera inside considering I have tint all around
I’ve had my rear camera mounted outside for the past 6 months, been through rain and drive thru car wash and now currently going through a 110 degree+ heatwave still working absolutely perfect!
@@effineduardo8591did you mount your camera like he did? Through the back tail light? How’s the seal to the brake light? No leaking inside the truck?
@@AnnoyedMangoI’m also curious. I have 5% tint on my windows and the camera is to dark to see anything out the window
I can confirm that after having the camera on the rear exterior of an Q3 there is no corrosion/moisture/heat damage to the camera at all. It is safe to live on the exterior. Though I am curious for a truck if there has been any leaking
Does the camara block the. On Star system
I notice you have the buttons for the retractable steps. Did you install this upgrade on your truck?
No. I don’t have retractable steps. It’s just there for looks
Hi question what wires did you connect your camera to the 3rd light I didn't see which ones you connected it to for your install if I may ask?
I don’t understand your question sorry. Can you be more specific?
I want to wire the same way you did but I don't know how or what wires to connect my camera to to make it come on the way you did by removing the third light and replacing it back with the camera underneath but what wires did you connect it to for power thanks
If you bought the same camera I have than the video is very self explanatory but if you have a different camera with other cables then I don’t know. I am getting electricity from the middle compartment of the truck. That power gets to the screen mirror and then you connect the Camara cable there on the screen mirror that should give you power to turn on the camera
How is it still holding up? Any issues or leaks? Thanks
No leaks. Everything is working excellent
I noticed the gps was not working!
Any concern about the camera wire causing a gap and water getting in around the 3rd brakelight?
Not at all. I take it to the automatic car wash all the time and there’s no leaks
@@FixitFelix529 Cool. I want to do it the same way with my 2022 Tundra. Just have to figure out how to get this 3rd light off. Haha
STOP.... for those watching... running wires above your head in the headliner area has 2 risks.... one... roof mounted airbags are designed to deploy without those cables in proximity... two..... loose wires rattle. a rattle close to your head sounds like a great idea. Either lower the headliner further and route them attached to an existing harness with velcro or tesa tape.... OR.... route it down the hinge pillar under the scuff plates to the rear....... and... his rear floor vents are blowing UNDER the carpet.
Im on the verge of sacrificing my 3rd break light and drilling through it so the camera doesn't stick out like that lol
Did you end up doing that? I thought about mounting on top of the 3rd brake light but making it sit as flush as possible but it might still look too goofy.
@effineduardo8591 yeah ended drilling through it and letting the camera sit about 1/4 out of it and super glued amd siliconed around it, sanded it down, covered the camera lens and pretty much blacked out the whole thing and it came out super nice, if you don't paint it black it's gonna look super ghetto tho
@@G30-h5e where can we see pics?
I have the same one but mine died at 1 year
This would not fit on my 2017 Sierra
why? I own a 2017 and a 2019 both 2500's. thinking of purchasing. thanks
Still holding up?
Yup. Works perfect. I love it
Is their a way i can put the camera inside of the rear window instead of having it outside??
@@joelljaquez8591 I dont think so. Unless you have like a special mount I don’t know about
@@FixitFelix529 very waterproof? I might do the same as you with camera outside
@@joelljaquez8591 yes the camera that goes in the back is water proof
