The app has a huge learning curve. You can actually control each individual light and make your own designs. It just takes some time to figure it out

You need to redue your electrical box. The national building code rrquires the wire connections to be inside an electrical box. The reason for this is because of fire. If for some odd reason your wire connection sorts out our the box. Your attic first be the catching fire if those connections aren't in the box.

I will eventually. It’s only temporary to get it started. Gonna run a whole new line to the attic since I want to redo a lot of wiring the previous owners did

Great video. , nice job. My hesitation is I also have 2 high peaks. Hoping 24’ ladder will be enough. I have outlets in attic AND outlet for garage door opener on ceiling inside garage, might use that and post power /data boxes there.

I wish you luck. I was fortunate enough to have access to a bucket truck. I know they have like 40ft extension ladders but I don’t know how comfortable I feel on those lol

I’m so torn on using govees - it doesn’t look permenant, I don’t like the wiring exposed. I need 200 feet so that’s $700 for pros .. a trimlijgbt dealer quoted me $4500 and as crazy as it sounds for lights the track lights looks so nice .. but must say Govee lights looks much brighter different light look for sure

My wife had mentioned to me the other day as we came back home that even if you know that they’re there. Atleast with my house being so high. You don’t notice them at all. They blend in with the soffits being white and white wires

@@T3CHNOskillz I’m trying to talk myself into realizing $4500 is absurd to spend on lights - and Govee are fine- but what worries me also when the govees if and when fail you have to go ride them or hired someone to do it or replace them

@@efthimios it’s one of those things that you have no idea how long they’ll last. It’s really up to you if you think the cost to install versus the time you get with them is worth it. Right now I have mine off and only turn them on for holidays or special events. That should make them last a little longer. As for installing it’s really not that hard unless you have a very difficult house to maneuver around like mine.

Great Video... I am getting ready to Install my 100 ft kit and am going the attic route as well... I already installed the outlet, plugged the power pack in and ran the lead from the controller over to the soffit.. I cut a hole a pushed the connector through.. I also have a peak that's at 24' high and a 24' extension ladder is too small, plus that's too high for me to work off a ladder... So I am looking at bucket lift rentals which is going to run around 250-300 bucks... Shame you didn't capture that Video... What kind of lift did you use? Cost? Any Issues? Thanks for your time..

I’m lucky enough that I have access to one from work. Large international truck with lift. I pulled it into my driveway and used it for about 2 hours. Didn’t cost me anything

2 inch space. I cut a small block of wood and used that to get my measurements
