I hope you are doing well today. I am working through some foundation requests and TODAY we will be going over whether the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk is worth the hype!!
I have literally tried to love this foundation for years and am definitely in the minority of people who do not like it. BUT we are giving it a GO again with a different shade and hoping for the best.
PLUS- I am showing you how to achieve the J LO Glow that was taught to me by my GA make-up artist.

I have tried several colors in this foundation and never liked it. I have very similar skin type and tone as you. I was recommended to try shade 3.5 . I thought that would be too light for me.
It was a great match and I now think the foundation is great. I enjoy your videos and your sense of humor on your foundation addiction.
Good morning Abby! Watching you instead of being on a terrible conference call ;) When I first moved to Chicago from Florida I went to Saks and bought the silk foundation-At that time, back in 2002/2003 they had another version that I liked, and in that other version the shades were just a tad different from the silk, can't remember the name-Actually I feel the line back then was way better with products than it is now, not sure why but it just was-
I currently have shades 4.5 and 5.25 in the "luminous" yet I never use them, I am not sure why-I think like you I want something a tad lighter and glowy-Being you just posted this, I went into my drawer and pulled out the bag holding foundations I don't use and tested the 4.5 luminous against the Chantecaille Vanilla shade I am testing and the Vanilla shade wins, so Armani went back in the bag-
When you swatched I was so shocked b/c it looked dark, but once you had everything on it looked seamless, but it seems it took so many steps to get that instead of a product just giving you that without all that work ;) Have a good day!

I have the Chantecaille Tint Skin in Vanilla and need to try that- I had the Future Skin but I think my daughter snagged it and gave it to a friend : ( . Are you still testing Future Skin? I don´t think I have ever tried any makeup from the brand, but I agree: It is such a hyped up foundation, I have read a lot about it.

I'm right there with u.. tried it 2x a couple years ago and 2 different maybe 3 colors. Didnt love it either! 😞 i have to say once u blended, the color looked good. At first i was like, oh no too dark and warm but out actually looked pretty
Thank the lord it blended out a little better. I literally was going to see a client right after and felt a bit ORANGE- Oompa, Loompa!
Hi Abby!!! Love your videos! I think the 5.5 is a better match for you. Really looks great! I completely understand the frustration of being matched wrong at the beauty counters. Happens to me 90% of the time.
Gina- it really is frustrating and I have gotten better at asking for samples before I purchase because I hate the return process. I am just not in love with the foundation and think I will just fall in the camp that does not find it all that special.... I do think the 5.5 was a better match but not quite right either. Abby Bliss White it s the Armani to go essence foundation cushion , I’ve just ordered it I’ll let you know what it’s like 😂 it only comes in a few colours it’s hard to get hold off , they do another cushion foundation too but this one is ment to be gorgeous lol ! Another one to the collection Abby , have you tried josie Maran vibrancy foundation ? It’s lovely and glowey I think you would like it xxxxxxxx

Abby: Finally our Sephora has this foundation in store! I was matched in 5.5 or 5.1. The 5.25 appeared a little pink. I purchased the 5.5 for now (summer) and may try the 5.1 or 5.25 for winter. FYI: the 5.1 is similar to the 5.5 so
with peach undertone. Try it and let me know what you think!

I agree with you Abby, regarding the shade match you got. I think you are a neutral leaning yellow undertone.
I don't like the Luminous Silk, it looks like makeup om my skin.
Like the Sisley Sisleya foundation more, but find the shades tricky.

I would say you'd suit Neutral as a tone choice too....and not quite as dark. Lindy xo
I don't like this foundation in winter but I préfer in spring. In winter I look bad. I préfer the powder fabric or the lift foundation and I apply before the glow one Balm. It gives the glow. Valérie from Paris

Foundation and foundation combos are so so individualized in what works for us! This foundation and the Armani Crema Nuda work for me but I do not like the Neo Nude powder on me... ( for me it is too heavy and the finish looks odd) Love these reviews of yours! ❤️
So true Stacy!! I bought the Armani Crema Nuda and wanted to LOVE it but it just did not work. Always on the hunt for the HOLY GRAIL! I am still looking at powders by the way. xoxo

I play with mine #4 and like it if I have Bobbi Brown's vitamin primer under, then it looks glowy. That sales lady you delt with is something! I mean aren't you supposed to help the client and listen to their feelings? Cool brush but gee.
I tried this one and thought it was pretty initially and then it just felt heavier as the hours went by. It looked too much like makeup which I don't like. Not my fave. I am in LOVE with my Kosas Tinted Face Oil (my HG now) even more than my La Mer soft fluid.

In my generation Armani was the standard of excellence, so I thought ok, makeup should be great. There is a lesson here!😊

5.25 is definitely not your match. I hate when beauty consultants can’t properly match. Armani counter in Chicago matched me to 4. Or they thought they matched me. Wayyyyy to yellow. I hated it. I purchased 4.5 and I’m enjoying it a great deal more.
It is such a bummer and seriously- watching this on video made me realize how bad that color match is- lol! Matching is the hard part. I am glad you found 4.5 and that you are enjoying it. xoxo

that foundation is too dry looking on me. Im guessing its the alcohol in it. idk. or maybe something is different with the $40 one. idk. I just cant get it to blow me away. Kathleenlights says for her it only looks good for the first few hrs and that it only really looks good on camera.

Its hard to explain. I think it gives off a glow, but it also looks dry on my skin. Like if I look up close, my skin is dry, but the product gives off a glow. Idk if you’ve experienced that before to where that makes sense or not. Lol. Im guessing it’s the high alcohol content.
@@bjornolson21 I do get it! I think it look luminous but also like I am wearing make-up. When you first put it on it looks great and then as the day goes on- I feel like I look like I have foundation on - if that makes sense? I think the high alcohol amount definitely plays a role in it. I think we have to give this one a solid pass : )

I agree Kate! It is so interesting to see some of these foundations on camera- because you can really see the differences! I don't even think I bought this during the summer - and I am not a tan girl - so it is sort of fascinating! LOL!
I have a perfect match but this foundation on me is just ok... I cannot see all fuss and its $100 where I live ! I don't think those two foundations match you at all sadly. A good foundation does not need a "special brush" ... as you can return products where you live .... I would get my money back and never go near that SA again .... she is colour blind! LOL
LadyKoko B- where do you live? I definitely do not think it is worth $100.00 bucks! And I so tempted to take it back but it has been a while since I decided to go down this GA road again. I am officially off of it. I just don't think I like it that much to go and get matched again. AND yes, you should not need a brush and a bunch of other products to make it look fantastic! LOL!
@@AbbyBlissWhite I am in Australia and I just did a conversion to US ... so it would be US $72.03 at this time. Oh.... we cannot exchange makeup or skincare unless it breaks you out and then you have to really Complain to the shop!!! Just for fun ... the Tom Ford 4 shades eyeshadow is US$138 at this time here in Australia !!!
@@pinkroses8714 WOWSER! That is a lot! Do you have a Sephora there? They seem to have such a nice return policy. Or is your Sephora different? Back in the day- you could never return products unless they were unused and in original box. Thus, I made LOTS of mistakes and now I am so surprised anytime I can make a return. xoxo
@@AbbyBlissWhite We can only take things back if you break out etc... health rules. Yes we have Sephora here and its $$$ too and the health rules apply there too . So I really think about it before I buy.
