If you’re of a certain age (40, 50, 60+) and have dry or combination mature skin then you’ll want to see the tutorial on a foundation that I use regularly. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation is one of the most ideal foundation formulations for more mature women. I seem to reach for this foundation on a regular basis now and wanted to share with you why I like it, why it’s become my go-to foundation in my 50’s and how I apply it. I hope you enjoy this video!

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation provides medium coverage, has good pigmentation and is easy to apply. May also be thinned out to provide lighter coverage.
The Finish of this foundation?
On dry mature skin: natural or satin
Combination skin: dewy, luminous
Oily skin: not recommended (will not last on skin and will add too much shine over time)
A few notables....
1. This foundation does not require a primer underneath. Prep skin well. Apply using a brush for medium coverage and a damp sponge for lighter coverage. In this video I use this brush bit.ly/2TRdR0g
2. This foundation does not require setting unless you have combination skin. (oily t-zone) The finish on me is natural with a little luminosity that gives the skin a more youthful finish.

One thing I forgot to mention in this video that is very important! If you're looking for a comparison foundation, try Face Atelier Ultra Foundation which I've also done a video on. I love the Luminous Silk for a classy natural look. I'm 60. Used to be combination skin. Now I'm just a tad drier. Still get a hint of shine in my t-zone. But the foundation I find myself going back to is my all time favorite- Estee Lauder Double Wear. I use Clinique 100H Moisture Surge moisturizer then Estee Lauder The Smoother Primer and then I apply my foundation with a damp beauty blender where needed. Lasts all day and looks great alllll day ❤
I agree this is a great ‘go to’ foundation for everyday.
I am 62 and this product adds a lovely dewy/glow look to my face with as much coverage as I want to build into my skin.
As a matter of fact I have it on now!

I love this video. What I would really love to see you do is a video about how to wear mineral makeup (such as BareMinerals powder foundation) on more mature skin. I have worn it all my life and now it is beginning to sit in my lines and make my dryness look much worse. There must be a method to make it work! With thanks.

On the higher end price point wise but worth the investment if you feel like treating yourself.

Hi vicki, love this video but I wonder if you could do a video on people over eighty. I find that it takes me a very long time to do my makeup. It looks pretty good when I get finished but I find that at my age I don’t seem to have the patience.

I haven't tried this one yet. I've used Face Atelier for two years and love it. I got a sample of La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation and really enjoyed it. It's very similar to FA but about three times the price. I may try GA next. Which do you think has the prettiest finish? Love your videos!
+Yorkie Mom I haven’t tried the La Mer Soft Fluid - the price tag is pretty steep on it! I just haven’t been able to justify spending that amount on a foundation when there are so many other great ones out there for half the price!
Face Atelier leaves the skin with a little more dewiness (not shine) compared to the Giorgio Armani. I’m very dry and FA gives me a little bit more of a glow then GA does. To be honest, the difference between the 2 is hardly noticeable. They are both lovely to wear. If you love FA, stick with it! It’s a gorgeous foundation and one I use on many of my clients.

I’m handicapped and I live on a very fixed income so this is a bit out of my price range. Have you tried any drugstore foundations that come close to this texture? This is really a great video! 😁✌️

I've had this foundation for 6 months now and still can't get used to it, it looks patchy and rough, I've tried with and without primers and doesnt give me a smooth finish 😖
