Just reading this brings back the grief I feel for the Eclectus I lost. I hand raised my baby hen, Velvet, from 3 weeks old so we were deeply connected. The front door was left open....and she flew out. She was 5 months old and I'd only weaned her off hand feeding 10 days previously. We never saw her again and nor did anybody else in my local community. I still cry most days and feel devastated, I loved her so much. She clever and cheeky and I thought I'd have her forever...
Raised a cockatiel from a baby when I was a kid. We grew up together and were really bonded. My parents house had these great high ceilings so he was out flying about often. One crazy day he was out doing his own thing and my mom opened the front door just as I was passing the door to head downstairs. There was a huge gust of wind that flew the door opened and my bird flew after me but got sucked out into the wind straight out the door. I will never forget this! It was like slow motion. He turned around in the air and fought with everything he had to get back to me. The wind was so strong tho that he remained suspended in the air while beating his wings harder than I’d ever seen. You are right. It is the most sickening feeling. Fortunately something gave and he was finally able to break thru and get back to me and I just sobbed. He was so scared, he tucked his little body in the crook of neck in my hair. He just finished living out his 23 years with his very last breath given while laying on my chest. Miss him like crazy and have began the multi month parrot research to finding my next parrot. Thanks for the videos.
Oh my goodness this was such a great story!! Amazing that he knew how to come back to you once he got out. I’m so sorry for your loss but it sounds like he had an amazing life and that you prioritized his health and wellness💔💕💕💕💕
i literally just got back home from a predawn search for my errant lorikeet who spent a rainy night in the trees, found her, I walk the neighborhood with her feed bowl , dinging away with a spoon like a crazy person. happy days
My stomach flipped a couple times hearing the story. I couldn’t imagine how hard that must have been to remain calm during that time. Glad Bogie is safe and had a good fly at least haha. Great video!!
My Galah flew away in March and spent over 4 months flying around my small country town. I got her back in July.....a little worse for wear and very repentant. I didn't think I would see her again. I am so lucky
@@flocklife She flew to a couple of different people and they posted photos on our local Facebook page but she flew away before I could get to her. The third person had a cage and put her in and contacted me. As far as I know she was outside all the time. I am in Australia so the climate and natural food suited her. She was born in captivity though so she did amazingly. I am so happy to have her back
all along spuubua
0:42 I love the fact he scream as soon as you mentioned that your first bird got eaten.🤣🤣🤣
