For the longest time I thought I was alone with thinking the Dark Knight Returns suit was a masterpiece in this game. Nothing felt more bad ass in the world than playing as Frank Miller's iteration of the Caped Crusader with the jaw dropping comic accuracy. Glad to see it made it into your top 3!

Yellow Lantern would’ve been cool af if A. His ring and eyes glowed bright yellow and B. If all the gadget textures that Batman used are replaced to glow bright yellow. That way it’d be like he was actually using the ring. Also maybe a some yellow streaks when Batman used grapple boost or glide.
The animated series suit is one of my favorites for a very specific reason, not because it makes the game a little more lighthearted, but because it also does something that very few games do. It also changes the style of Robin and Catwoman to be their Animated Series equivalents.
My favorite is the 70’s suit, but I also really like Year 1 and Dark Knight Returns. I’ve always thought the one thing that brought back the batman beyond suit (in the cartoon as well) to me was the lack of a cape, it just isn’t batman to me without that big flowing cape.
But Terry's Batman doesn't have a cape. I personally would have hated it if they'd added a cape to a suit that didn't originally have it. The BB suit in the show is one of my personal favorite Batman suits of all time.
i really like the beyond suit in the show and movie, but i feel like it looks a little weird in this game. it might be the eyes, i think theyre too far apart
what i like about what arkham city did with the skins was that they changed batmans head sculpt. Ik they couldn't do this in arkham knight cause the cutscenes aren't pre rendered and were in game
The reason why the animated series suit is the best is because when you reskin Batman with this suit, other characters like Robin and Catwoman get reskined.
Here is my ranking. 1. Beyond. This suit is just perfect for me. The Beyond suit is already my favorite Batman suit and this game captures it perfectly with the texture on the suit and having the wings come out when gliding. 2. The Dark Knight Returns. Pretty much the same reasons with the Beyond suit. 3. Animated. I was having a hard time that this or number 4 should take this spot. In the end I have to go with the Animated suit taking number three because I love the cell shading done to it and it looks just like it did in the show. One critique however is the eyes, they never move at all in cutscenes where batman closes his eyes which can look a little awkward. 4. 70's. The Batman design most iconic for me as a kid. The games makes the suit look amazing with its bright colors and all white eyes. 5. Default. A perfect example of what to do when designing Batman. Keeping the look the same while making it look tactical and functional. 6. Sinestro Corps This skin is good, but not perfect. For starters the yellow looks withered and I think it would look much better glowing. Still I love the idea of Batman being a yellow lantern and having the ring gives it an extra touch I love. 7. Earth One. It's cool. I like the cowl and I like how the logo is screwed on. The gloves look amazing too. The only thing I don't like is the silver belt. I always prefer Batman to have a yellow belt. 8. Year one. This is very generic. It's just a cell shaded Batman like the other ones but worse looking. The only reason it isn't last place is the cell shading is nice. 9. Inc. This suit does not look good in this game. I am not a fan of the texture used on the suit and the cod piece is so stupid. It looked much better in Knight but the cod piece is still stupid.
I'm new to Arkham games, but I think there's only multiple playable characters in Arkham night only right? Or you can play with other characters in origins, city or asylum also?

The problem I have with the animated series suit is that it doesn't mesh with the rest of the game. It doesn't look organic in that world. The other characters don't look like that, the world doesn't look like that. If that suit had been that costume but not styled the way that it was, it would easily be the best one, or if you could turn on a filter to make the other characters and the world look the same way, but the way it is, it's too jarring for me. As a fan of the animated series and someone who says there is no Batman but Conroy, I still can't bring myself to use it.

Mad Hatter Batman isn't actually a suit. It is just whatever skin you are wearing with Jervis's mind control mask over your face. I know because I watched NapalmX717 do a full playthrough of Arkham City in the BTAS skin and even left the thumbnail for part 7 as "the Mad Hatter suit".
Wow, I was NOT expecting you to rank the BTAS Batsuit as #1 but I sure am pleased. Just having Kevin Conroy (RIP) voicing Batman in this skin alone would make you feel that you're playing a game within the BTAS/DCAU continuity.
If I go with what I wore the most, Batman Beyond is number one, as the others messed with my perception and took me out of the game to much. Such as Year One and DKR both having shiny skin on the face.
If you aren't joking, I'd recommend searching up Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight. Origins was made by Warner Bros and is a prequel to Asylum, it's actually pretty fun and has some of the best boss fights and character development IMO. Knight is the last installment, made by Rocksteady like Asylum and City, and is basically the biggest, best looking game with the most variety in gameplay.
Your videos are always entertaining. As far as my favorite suits for city I'd go with: Sinestro Corps, 70s suit, Beyond suit. Awesome ranking video, looking forward to more.
The Animated Series Batman suit is my all time favorite in Arkham City! I remember when I played Arkham City way back when I got it on PS3, it's the one I played in the game the most.

Dont know abt yall but the base batman arkham city suit is basically the perfect suit,rocksteady was able to make a modernized classic black-grey suit and the armor makes much more sense and Realistic,its the best original arkham batsuit,definitely my fav batsuit of all the 4 games
I 100% agree with you about the Batman INC. suit. It could’ve been the best suit in the game but why the hell does he have a steel plate on the crotch?! Well at least the metal cup was removed in the comics anyway.
The BTAS suit is also my favorite, as it’s one of my favorite looks, if not my favorite look for Batman, from my favorite piece of Batman media, next to the Arkham games of course.
It’s a real shame Rocksteady couldn’t incorporate the suits from AK and AC and have them in all three games. Make the experience even better in my opinion.
My ranking for the alternative suits are 9. Is earth one suit. 8 is batman Inc. 7 is year one suit 6 suit is game base suit. 5 suit is the 1970's . 4 suit is Sinestro corps. 3 suit is dark knight returns suit. 2 suit is batman beyond. 1 suit is the animated series suit
Beyond should of been number 1, ur #1 pick seems like something from Border Lands games and just looks way too cartoony. It kind of contridicts what you said about the other suit for not looking very Bruce Wayne lol for me it just kills the whole hardcore dark vibe to the game. Beyond will also have a very special place in my heart too.
The suit I prefer to use generally boils down to which version of the game I'm playing. See, the one thing that bugs me about the original Arkham City suit is how it gets completely trashed and ripped to shreds by the end of the game. And while I understand why Rocksteady does this in the entire Arkham series, I don't get why it's something that can't be fixed or undone in the post game and New Game+. That's actually where the WiiU version of the game comes in. You can let the Armored suit get shot to hell all you want, but then, once you get into the post game and New Game+, you have the option to switch to the original Arkham City suit and you get to enjoy using it throughout the game, all nice and pristine and unmarred in any way. So that's usually the one I go with there. Any other version, well, I'll dabble with the others occasionally, but I generally find myself gravitating toward the Earth-1 suit. I actually don't mind the codpiece on the Batman Inc. suit, but my issue there is that there's something about Batman's facial features that just looks off to me, in the wrong lighting. I can't put my finger on what it is, but it always seems to bother my eye. So I go to the Earth-1 suit, which doesn't have that problem. In fact, it actually looks like Batman's Arkham face, just with a different cowl on.
It really is a massive missed opportunity not to have the updated black Animated series Batman suit in the same style in Knight as a follow up to the City one. That was my favourite in City too and the updated design is my favourite one of those 2
I really wished we could've gotten that animated series skin back for Arkham Knight, especially if they would've added the animated series Batmobile. 😔

The base _Arkham City_ suit had a dark blue cape and cowl in the original version of the game… and then they changed it to black for the remaster.

It really is a massive missed opportunity not to have the updated black Animated series Batman suit in the same style in Knight as a follow up to the City one. That was my favourite in City too and the updated design is my favourite one of those 2
