Painting Tutorial - Star Wars: The Black Series 1/12 Custom Clone Commando

In this video I'll be going over how to paint the skylu3ddesigns clone commando kit, though these tips can be applied to really any figure.

* The reviews on the brush set have led me to question their quality a bit, these are just the 3 types of brushes that are most beneficial. Citadel from Games Workshop makes some quality brushes (using the same names for the brush types) if you want something that will really last but they do have a price tag that comes with that. Usually, I just buy bargain bin brushes from my local arts & crafts stores. *

I absolutely love it! Looks so rad! But, where did you get the figure? I made some custom commandos using the BS Hunter body with 3D print helmets. But, they’re not entirely accurate to screen. I want to get a commando like you used! 👍

Where do you get your paints? Also what brand of tape do you recommend for painting?

I get them from my local mom & pop hobby store, this is their website…

The tape is regular 3M painters tape for bigger areas, the smaller and curved masking tapes are from Tamiya.

I’m not interested in selling at the moment. If you go to my instagram (same name as my youtube) and look at my following tab, you may be able to find other customizers who are taking commissions; most people say if their commissions are open in their bio. Just fyi, custom figures run anywhere from $100-$200 depending on their complexity and Commando kits are very complex to make.
