I am an amateur customizer for the Classified line ,(so far), and have been covering my learning / work progress as I learn new techniques and approaches . What you explained about the rub factor for the joints with the black Krylon paint is absolute an absolute grand slam of a tip. Thank you so much! Subscribed!
Just received my first mythic, legions figure goblin legion builder deluxe I’m about to start my first customization doing some dry brushing and what not thanks to your videos love this line love your work I am hooked.
Question Mr.Girard 🙋 how would you go about painting The Mid section plastic loin cloth like the one on the Dark templar ? What paint would you recommend for the paint to not chip off too much or stay sealed?
Those softer pieces are tougher to paint. I tend to only use brush paint on those parts as I find spray sometimes gets tacky. I use Vallejo almost exclusively and that is what I do there as well!
If you are asking what to use for paint on those, some of those soft plastic coats do not do well with primer or paint. I tend to avoid those if possible. If not, I used just try to brush paint on top of what is there
Thanks Jeremy. When using the paint sealer do you spray each part individually or do you build the figure back up and spray in a one go? I completely stripped a figure down to paint it and was hoping to build it back up and seal it all at once. Please let me know when you can this is my first custom 😂
The only reason to LIGHTLY sand parts is if they have burrs from the 3D-printing supports that you want to smooth out. You do NOT need to sand to get paint to adhere, and doing so will likely damage the details of the sculpture itself.
I customized my Hulk head sculpt (Marvel Legends wolverine 2 pack) by changing his hair and adding some chin on him and I'm too hesitant to paint the head or I should just buy a primer online first so I can finally paint him?
Hey how you doing if you don't mind maybe you can help me out here I'm just starting to do this now and I don't know too much about it what would be the perfect prime to make a green action figure Also a metallic If you could send me a link where I could get started and buy the stuff finally I will appreciate it so much
Yeah, that is what I tend to do. I don't want to go too hard for fear that it will gum up the piece. I find a short burst spray is fine, although I do sometimes do a bit extra on weapon handles since I know they will get extra wear.

What you recommend for a plastic coat, for example, Gambit's coat, that kind of material?

I build it up and spray in one go generally
@@MythicCustoms thanks so much for that
Has anyone tried the bottle clear coat primer from FolkArt Paint?
I just sand
Do i have to sand them down and then prime it ?

Thanks Jeremy! Is a single coat of the dull sealant all you need?
Yeah, that is what I tend to do. I don't want to go too hard for fear that it will gum up the piece. I find a short burst spray is fine, although I do sometimes do a bit extra on weapon handles since I know they will get extra wear.
@@MythicCustoms Many thanks!!!! Keep up the great videos!
I did pray my figure first before painting
