- 🚙 Upgrade Alert! Today I have an upgrade for our Land Rover LR4 Discovery 4, which should make the hot days with cool drinks more pleasant. I have decided to install the original Land Rover fridge in the center console of our Land Rover LR4 Discovery 4.
You don't need a lot of tools or complicated disassembly of the interior for this retrofit, but can get started as soon as you have such a refrigerator.
In this video, I'll show you how easy it is and what you need to bear in mind during installation. 🛠️

Great retrofit. I just installed it in my LR4 and it's perfect.
I have that feature in my Disco 4 and it's quite useful on hot days. You'll like it. My car also has 360 surround camers which is good also. But the picture quality of cameras are not as good as today's cars. My Disco 4 is 2016 Landmark model. I'm thinking of replacing cameras to today's new generation cameras
Yes, I'm already looking forward to it! Which cameras can you use for this and which ones can you replace them with?
There are 5 cameras in total in disco 4. One reverse camera, 2 cameras in Door Mirrors which also includes Wade Sensors and the remaining 2 cameras are on Front Bumper, one each side of front fog lights. All these 5 cameras do not have sharp picture quality as compared to today's landrovers. I am thinking of replacing them with better picture quality cameras if and when my pocket allows me to do so.

Hey Peter, I always check the new parts for the mounting points. This way you can see on the fridge that there are plastic tabs below, and this way its makes it easier to remove the installed box without breaking something (because then you know where to pull and if all screws are removed etc). Great upgrade btw, cheers!
Hey, the old box could be removed completely, even if it was stuck a little tighter in the holder than expected. It seems that the person who removed the new one had less luck. Fortunately, the pin was not completely gone but only slightly bent. Greetings, Peter

Das Video mit den Sitzen habe ich schon mehrfach benutzt. Ich musste ja mein Wasser im Fußraum beseitigen. Dafür musste auch der Fahrersitz raus. Wasserleck ist inzwischen beseitigt 😊
Super das er wieder trocken ist! Ich werde bei meinem nochmals alles rausnehmen und nochmals waschen denke ich... Frühjahrsputz und so 😄
Super Video, wie immer! 😀Mein Discovery 3 hatte auch die Kühlbox, hab immer wieder mit dem Gedanken gespielt sie nachzurüsten und jetzt wo ich sehe wie einfach es ist, ist die Entscheidung gefallen😁 Aus Erfahrung mit meinem Disco 3 kann ich sagen , dass sie nicht wirklich geeignet ist Getzränke runterzukühlen. Allerdings hält sie bereits kalte Getränke auch wirklich kalt 👍

Danke dir! Also unsere Kühlbox ist für das mMn recht schnell. Wir haben es das letzte Mal mit 2 kleinen Dosen (300ml) welche Zimmertemperatur hatten versucht und nach 30 Minuten waren sie zwar nicht eiskalt, aber definitiv kühl. Aber klar, gegen einen echten Kompressorkühlschrank kommt das Teil nicht an 😉 Viele Grüße, Peter
After some reseach, there are two different boxes.
The refrigerater with the white inley and a two step cooler-box with black inlay.
The only heatet one i found is a seperat additional for the rear seats 😅

Hi, where did you order the fridge from?
The fridge has a Peltier element so I don't think you can use it for heating because then you would have to physically flip the element.
As I said, I'm no longer sure either. Maybe it wasn't a Land Rover where I saw it 😄 Unfortunately it's been too long 😉

Great video - thanks. I will think about doing this on my 2016 Landmark which came without the fridge. Is the removeable tray on top of the fridge different from the one that came with the standard bin? Or did a new tray come with the fridge?
Thank you very much, John! The tray on the top came with the fridge in my case. But I've seen a lot of them without that tray too. And this tray alone costs about 45-50 GBP on eBay. So I would recommend buying a fridge with this tray. Regards, Peter
