    Omg!! I was just about to send car to junk yard. Trans was jerking and slipping out of 2nd gear. Cleaned solenoid and screen. Car runs smooth like butter. Thank you more than I can say.

    Be careful, that brake clean will ignite if your testing and spraying. I’ve cleaned them and caught my nitrile gloves on fire from being drenched in brake cleaner and energizing the solenoid. I recommend letting them sit for a few minutes after cleaning and then test them. Never really had that issue with mineral spirits even though both are flammable.

      I have 99 accord lx v6 have not had the car long but I got p0740 and figured i might just try the diy route first. I pulled the solenoid off to replace it with one I got off Amazon for under 70 $ there are only three pipes I am missing the (8×40) i think it must have been removed at some point prior to me purchasing it and it was lost . Fingers crossed that this little pipe that is missing fixed the problem. I will let ya know.

      @@manatutormtg I've ordered the part off of ebay. I know there is two adjustment screw type things on the opposite side of the valves themselves. Should I even try adjusting these or what? At the very least ill just take it to my shop and see if he can help me out.. Although that's what I was trying to avoid to begin with. Seems this would be a non-issue with a junkyard part.

    • @manatutormtg
      @manatutormtg  2 роки тому

      For electrical things I usually don't use a junkyard because I don't know if it will work or not. At least if I buy one online then I know I can return it if it's not functioning properly (and I didn't have to waste an entire day going to a junkyard to pull a used part off another car that may or may not work anyway). I mainly just use a junkyard for mechanical parts, interior parts, and glass.

    Appreciate your video. Thank you. Hoping you might help us please. Do you have any idea why our 1990 Honda Accord Auto Transmission does not shift into reverse sometimes and makes the funny clicking sound? Other times we start it and it shifts into reverse perfectly. We've flushed the AT and put the Honda fluid, checked the lock up and shift solenoids and cleaned the small screens. Does the Honda Lock up solenoid lock up the torque converter to make it go into reverse? Here is a video of the sound.. Thank you very much. @H9y4

The transmission won't engage into reverse and just makes a bad clicking sound inside the transmission when putting the shifter into reverse. We also flushed the trans perfectly clean. Tried some additives as a last resort. Tried shifting slowing and from various positions, etc. Nothing helped. Can't tell any improvements.
