after a 1-4 to start, the Steelers go 9-0 the rest of the way, including 5 shutouts and allowing only 28 points - a mind boggling statistic still to this day
The game at riverfront was by far the steelers most impressive win of the year. If they lose that game, Cincinnati goes to 10-2, and pittsburgh drops to 7-5, meaning the bengals are in, and the steelers are out. In chuck noll's house of horrors, pittsburgh walked away with a 7-3 win, against a high powered Cincinnati offense
Thanks for the video! I loved the good old Steelers with Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, Rocky Blier, Lynn Swan, John Stalleorth, Mean Joe Green, Jack Lambert, and Chuck Noll.
Love the legend of this particular team. Always admire NFL/College Football teams when they have a really rough start and pull it together to have a good/great season. The 76' Steelers are arguably the greatest example of what was described in the previous sentence.
5 shutouts in 9 games. Only 28 points allowed in those 9 games. In the first 5 games, they allowed 22 points a game. In the last games, they allowed just over 3 points a game. Talk about a turnaround
The Steel Curtain. The best defense ever!!, and the team wasn't bad either! The Steelers lost to Oakland in the playoffs in 76, and The Raiders went on to win The Super Bowl thrashing The Vikings.
1976 steel curtain defense is the greatest defense of all time. There's not a defense today could even come close to that defense of 76
The best of the Super Steelers teams. Bradshaw said their 40-14 playoff win versus the Colts was the best game played by that team in that decade
Probably my favorite Steelers season even though no SB. Once they got on track , you’ll never see something like that again

So true for those that know......when we lost Franco and rocky in playoff game against raiders...done deal where we relied on the run game.

Mike Kruzeck should be in the hall of fame.
Best defense of its era by far

The 74-79 Steelers were the best! Especially the 74, 75, 78, 79 team! The Superbowl Teams!
One hell of a season!
All I got to say is MAY 23RD 1976 DA STEELERS!!
The big D and the running offense took over. AWESOME!
And I was born right in the middle of it November 12th 1976 when I got here the Steelers destroyed the Tampa Bay buccaneers 24 to nothing
Franco with at least 41 carries. God Almighty!
It's the year I was born

The "Raiders theme"?
Why so much time with Cleveland?
