The 1970s Steelers are simply the greatest dynasty in the Super Bowl era of the NFL. Howard Cosell is simply the best announcer in the history of sports. And those graphics and the music when the helmets all appear on the screen during the intro - that's simply the best opening for any football television production.

Those vintage Patriots uniforms were always among my favorites. And they played outdoors, like football is supposed to be played....and most of their games were at high noon, so there were virtually no shadows on the field during the games. The old Patriots games were incredible spectacle....

I believe the 79’ Steelers are like the 75’ squad in that they seldom get their due for how great they were and the 1978 squad gets all the accolades. But the 75’ team (other than one bad outing on defense in Buffalo) were utterly without weaknesses. So too was this squad other than their (ridiculous) propensity to turn the ball over. But when you have 52 turnovers and go -10 in turnover margin, but still go 12-4 against a very tough schedule while racking up more the 120 yards more than your opponents per game, you too are an unimaginably good squad.

In the end, a fitting win for Pittsburgh. Chuck Noll's 100th win as a coach. And it was a triumph of professionalism against emotional play. But I'd give the game ball to the Steelers' defense for keeping them in the game when the offense was struggling.

Those Steelers teams from the 70's were one of the first teams to really do a lot of cheating. One of the big things they did, was that those players were absolutely loaded with ped's!!! Just about the entire team did them with a few exceptions like bradshaw, swann & maybe the kickers. It's really noticeable, in the fourth quarter when other teams are starting to fade a little bit, the steelers are able to pull out a victory. So many of there games they pulled out in the fourth because they had an unfair advantage. Now other teams may have had a player or two that were doing something, but the steelers had pratically everybody juiced out of there minds, what cheats! The entire decade should be called into question, those no good bastards!!!

I remember when Fox bought the NFC package, outbidding CBS back in 93, first thing they did was have a score box on screen at all times. Brilliant idea that it's hard to believe no one thought of before then.
