Hi! My name is Christopher Odd and I’ve been playing video games on the internet for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Dragon Age, etc). XCOM 2 is the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the 2012 award-winning strategy game of the year.
Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces. XCOM, the planet’s last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda and eliminating all who dissent from their new order.
Only those who live at the edges of the world have a margin of freedom. Here, a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run, and facing impossible odds, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to ignite a global resistance, and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.

As a note for anybody who cares.
I just looked into the AI for both base game and A Better Chosen.
Despite vanilla adding Rapid Fire for the Assassin as an ability.
There is 0 AI to make use of that ability at all.
So that's why you've never seen it.
Because she literally can't use it.
Didn't we see her use it at some point? Also, wasn't she burning here, or had it stopped?

@Not_that_Brian_Jones true. But also we saw he use on a lost mission maybe 10 episodes ago? Unless it was the Taipan next to her which could also have very much happened depending on the Taipan which is prolly what's messing me and the other guy up lol
Ah yes, the great Locksley. Who could forget classic moments like the No-Hit Turret Kill, or the One-Shot of the Forge Sectopod? She may indeed have been de-throned for All-Time Kills two seasons ago, but she was the unmatched champion through 11 seasons and 6 years. She does actually still hold one record - Most Missions with 51 - which seems effectively impossible to break now with the fatigue system (the record for a WotC season is Katyusha "Kalina" Volkova's 39).
I could never forget Locksely.
The sniper who, even when she missed her shots on the rare occasion, STILL managed to kill her targets.
Locksley was incredible sniper from season 1. for me her best moment was the double triple executions
Yes, I rewatched the first season because of her. Never missed a mission. Unless the commander wanted it
Wasn't Locksley already in one of the X-Com Enemy Unknown or enemy within playthroughs before she made an appearance in vanilla Xcom 2?

So nobody is going to mention that this new recruit from Canada is essentially called Matt LeBlanc?
Calibos is new to your campaigns. His backstory was originally going to have more ties to the Warlock and the reference to the explosion was going to be linked to your love of Remote Start. I might do some logs with him as the campaign moves ahead.
Even when you get someone like Laitinen, I'm always like "I miss Locksley" when I see them.
All these soldiers are from your latest "Enemy Within" season, it looks like the author just used that as the cannon, that's why he didn't mention Locksley
On 11 minute, I think Petrol hasn't changed his target preview after changing position. His cone of attack showed the spots he could reach from previous position. May be some shenanigans in cooperation between chemthrower and ripjack.
Something strange Always happens After a grapple 😅 Remember the fog mission?
The big thing about setting enemies on fire is that burning disables any melee attacks, so that really messes with the Assassin in particular (I can remember multiple Stun Lancers messing themselves up by trying to melee someone, but running through fire on the way in 🤣). I'm not sure exactly what other abilities it disables, but it might prevent Rapid Fire as well.
54:29 Since it's FL 9 - I think gunships may be in play
Gunships are FL- 13 I believe.
That Dark event looks nasty, now watch how Commander will have some robotic units in every mission =)

Am soo jealous. They all got to stand eye to eye with th' assassin and give her everything. Rapunzel may not have had a 100% day but she still put in a respectable amount of damage an' managed to get out unscathed. She's got her promotion too. Soo proud.

Had a chance to talk to Rapunzel briefly but was interrupted by 'mmander calling people to th' Ranger. Am literally grabbing my armor an' heading over there now. He said it'd be very difficult. We'll see.

Weird that Odd never check when the missions expire he had a bit over 3 days to scan to get more people back and wasnt that DE a non issue since he doesnt have any PSI stuff? Also interesting choice of not have repeater in the shotgun for extra crit damage cause your boosting crit chance. Also Locksley was a Goated Sniper in either season 1 i believe or season 2 its been awhile.
I believe this DE is a different one than the precedent psi one, augmented damage inflicted to his psi soldiers (didn't have any so who cares). This one makes all advent psi units (including Warlock) more powerful
Rapunzel's Saylor-Moon outfit style is jow-dropping! Her new hair-colour is hipnotizyng! I wish i could recieve that medick-heal spray from her anytime! GG!
Reposting a comment someone made on a previous video. You should try out on duchess the blitz shot and cutthroat abilities together. Blitz shot counts as a melee attack and +2 crit damage with the +3 crit damage attachment on a shotgun with high crit chance… things could get spicy. Not to forget about her insane mobility aswell :)
Basic sword on skywatcher? You should at least have the free Experimental Blade (tier 2) from TLP, no? And the combat knife on Foehn, there's a vibroblade upgrade to that (tier 2) for extremely cheap, and knife users can be incredibly versatile with their stabby-stabs (RIP Vera Stabtitude from s8), so the increased dmg/crit/etc on the blade upgrades is nothing to sneeze at for the low cost of building one (I'm on Veteran, where it's about 7 supplies and 1 alloy I think?)
Laughed and cried at Stabtitude. Left some scars on that Warlock boy she did
Speaking of knife users, got a couple of butterflies in my campaign, bonded them and they are crazy. All the extra move ponts and strafing actions, literally dancing around the foe. Trully floating like butterflies and stinging like bees. Love the class. Hope Morningstar will lean into that at some point
I've only been a WOTC watcher so I don't know or have seen Locksley in action, HOWEVER, the hype around her is know and is understood lmao. My G.O.A.T.S, and the characters that I can recall back to were in the proficiency class season (5), still to this day my favorite season and my fav above all was Spud and I get nostolgia whenever I look back on that season, I love this game man and the community!
13:00 "I don't think I'm gonna be able to remove this pillar." Remember XCOM Apocalypse, you could remove the pillar but it might mean that part of the building collapses on you?
Lieutenant Amy "Collux" Penton’s origin, Part 2:
A year had passed, during which Amy had been in hiding. Her boss had told her to keep her head down and stay under the radar, so to speak, although he probably meant literally too. Her last correspondence from him was more than a week ago and since they tried to keep in contact each week, it worried her. Had he been caught? Or worse, killed? She had been hiding from the aliens and now Advent in an abandoned barn with a cellar. An old mattress, a small radio and a blocked cellar door had been her only comfort and even though she seemed calm on the outside, panic and anxiety was around every corner as she had to leave her refuge every day for food.
She had found out from Officer Bradford that her husband and her brother, Will, had been killed by the aliens just after she had received her brother's message. She cried for hours after that. She was the only one left of her family now, even her cat, Rosie, had passed away because of the aliens' involvement in the natural wildlife around where she was hiding.
Amy unblocked the cellar door and opened the door quietly. She looked around and sneaked out to do some reconnaissance of the small village she was hiding in. It was a dreary British day, overcast and cold. She hated the cold, but it was better than being captured by Advent. She had heard that XCom might be in her area soon, but there was something she was unsure about with that latest transmission. It felt wrong, like the voice in the transmission was slightly distorted, but she needed to check it out for herself. If she could get to them, she’d be much safer than she had been this last year.

I don't think anyone could forget Locksley. She was... something else.
Calling it now. Odd will forget about Mechanical Menace dark event, set up on roof top high ground, and have the ground blown out below them.
I highly suggest using Colored Weapon Tier mod. I've been using it for several full campaigns and haven't run into issues. It's a very useful QoL feature.
Really love the campaign. The combinations with Amalgamation (?) seem to be endless, but it's a real headcracker to remember all those skills.
Looking forward for the next episode.

Updated post mission: So close to Flawless for me, damn Assassin goin' for the attack from behind malarky, I'll talke that as she also missed a 100% hit chance on Momo!? Now to watch Odd!

What mod makes your covert action do lead to promotion? Have a lot of troopers with double the xp for the next lvl but they don’t get promoted unless I take them in a mission
The assassin is putting in work overall, but it is not great that she has completely skipped her turn twice now. She might have to check her feeds occasionally.
That shot the assassin took up on Doc was seriously scary. I thought with her mobility, she might go to finish him off regardless of how much you moved him. Glad she didn't.

Instead of nanoscale vests, how about bringing mindshields? Not only they're good counter to chosens, I think they also prevent panic from tired soldiers. Although once we get decoy beacons we won't have much free utility slots left.
Covert Infiltration changes how the game handles a tired soldier with a mind shield. It guarantees they'll be shaken and have a negative trait at mission end.
