Speaking as an audio engineer who used to record audiobooks for a living, (including several 40K novels years ago before I got into it myself) this is just awesome. You're better at this than most of the professional narrators I worked with, not taking anything away from them. Good luck with your back.
@@AzrealMaximus I honestly don't even remember which ones they were. I actually recorded for the library of Congress which has a program that provides audiobooks to the blind and physically disabled. I can't recall the name of the program but they were books that would've been new between 2010 and 2015 as I worked there in 2014-16 and they usually only went back about five years at most.
@RAD1111able I worked for the library of congress in the U.S. I did multiple sci fi and fantasy series per day, basically every day for two years. I honestly don't remember which books they were because I wasn't into it back then. But this was in 2014-2016 and they were apparently new books at the time, if that narrows it down any, lol. For a little more clarity, the department I worked in was responsible for producing audio books specifically for the visually impaired and physically disabled. Basically, people who aren't able to see or manipulate things by hand. For the most part, they were not commercially available to the general public.
As a former Paratrooper who broke his back I am very sorry you are going through the pain I hope you can find some relief. I use heating pads for sleep and I occasionally get into super hot bath water for a while. I hope these help.

Jk i know the gawd damn feel brother. 55 jumps later not only do i have a sudden fear of heights but my knees and back are fkd. Had a jump without main chute deployment too, pulled reserve it wrapped around me. Luckily my main decided to catch air 100ft before the ground but i broke my optic off my rifle, broke my mbitr in half and 117f didn’t work.

What I think I really like about the Arks of Omen story is that, in terms of it's narrative construction, Vashtorr was the protagonist. They drop a new character for the faction known by the fanbase to have problems with winning, gave him a whole introductory story with ups and downs for him, and let him win. A fantastic introduction for a new villian.

I actually think The Lion's return was handeled way better than Guilliman's. I love how The Lion is actually getting character development and has seemingly learned from several mistakes he made during The Heresy

i kind of want to agree with you, but I think the shitshow of Guilliman's return was less related to his own lore, but more related to how GW decided to handle the timeline of the indomitus crusade and the gathering storm novels themselves when it came to Eldar lore.

I mean, I have never heard anyone so good at these forms of narrative, or any form of narrative for that manner. And I have heard thousands of hours of oratory. You are genuinely the best orator and writer I have ever encountered in my nearly 15,000 hours of listening to audiobooks of both fiction and non-fiction (primarily), podcasts, documentaries, etc., you exceed all of them in quality of narration and tie the best of them (the best of which were all non-fiction, excluding you now) for quality of content. @@Baldermort I used to be in the marines. I was 185 pounds. Able to run or outrun with the best of them. But after I blew my knee out a few years ago I can barely go up the stairs to take a piss. I was a leader nobody expected because I was a nerd. My higher ups could hear in my voice I was from NYC, so they knew I had an major attitude problem. I always took care of my guys regardless of what dumb orders we got. I was the loudest, angriest Cpl who didn’t let anyone bully his marines. Now tho? This surgery has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I WILL COME BACK STRONGER! The shame of my weakness weighs so heavily on me…. But I know my 2 friends who passed away would want me to rise up from this! Reading or listening to war hammer fuels my pride as an old used up marine! And I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH! For the lion! Thx Balders Listing to the fallen talk to el Johnson I’ve come to a realization both the fallen and the unforgiven were two sides of the same coin split apart for 10 thousand years both factions had their secrets but a inner circle high command that knew the truth of what happened on Caliban with ordinary marines unaware of the truth. Most fallen dark angles are in fact loyal to the emperor believing it was the lion that betrayed them but now that their father has returns to set things strait the two sides of the story are finally peace’s back together like a tapestry most fallen can be redeemed while those marines the inner circle around Luther are the ones that fell to chaos the true fallen that can never be fully redeemed.

Jee Dubz is a soulless corporate shill for Whizzers on the Coast and HazBro', all of whom do not like it when anyone with actual talent tries to tell them, teach them, or otherwise dictate to them what **THEIR HOLY OPINION** should comprise concerning quality work. As such, they won't hire capable, qualified people who have a mind of their own. They'd rather hire one or two hotshot die-hards and stack their cash/business model so they can make more profit for less negotiation.

Speaking as an audio engineer who used to record audiobooks for a living, (including several 40K novels years ago before I got into it myself) this is just awesome. You're better at this than most of the professional narrators I worked with, not taking anything away from them. Good luck with your back.

@@AzrealMaximus I honestly don't even remember which ones they were. I actually recorded for the library of Congress which has a program that provides audiobooks to the blind and physically disabled. I can't recall the name of the program but they were books that would've been new between 2010 and 2015 as I worked there in 2014-16 and they usually only went back about five years at most.

@RAD1111able I worked for the library of congress in the U.S. I did multiple sci fi and fantasy series per day, basically every day for two years. I honestly don't remember which books they were because I wasn't into it back then. But this was in 2014-2016 and they were apparently new books at the time, if that narrows it down any, lol.
For a little more clarity, the department I worked in was responsible for producing audio books specifically for the visually impaired and physically disabled. Basically, people who aren't able to see or manipulate things by hand. For the most part, they were not commercially available to the general public.

Jk i know the gawd damn feel brother. 55 jumps later not only do i have a sudden fear of heights but my knees and back are fkd. Had a jump without main chute deployment too, pulled reserve it wrapped around me. Luckily my main decided to catch air 100ft before the ground but i broke my optic off my rifle, broke my mbitr in half and 117f didn’t work.

He is also a space wolves player and i play dark angels after getting him to pick up warhammer so it was destined to be i suppose brothers who fight lol. I do rib it in his face that my daddy is back everytime i pull out my lion mini lol.

What I think I really like about the Arks of Omen story is that, in terms of it's narrative construction, Vashtorr was the protagonist. They drop a new character for the faction known by the fanbase to have problems with winning, gave him a whole introductory story with ups and downs for him, and let him win. A fantastic introduction for a new villian.

I actually think The Lion's return was handeled way better than Guilliman's. I love how The Lion is actually getting character development and has seemingly learned from several mistakes he made during The Heresy
More like the same. Both captured. Both fought a brother. Both upset at the imperium. Both dealing with all brothers gone. Both appearing in dark situations. Both realizing things they did before may have been wrong. Where exactly is the difference?
i kind of want to agree with you, but I think the shitshow of Guilliman's return was less related to his own lore, but more related to how GW decided to handle the timeline of the indomitus crusade and the gathering storm novels themselves when it came to Eldar lore.

I'm only on the first 25 minutes and its already some of the best storytelling I have EVER heard.
I mean, I have never heard anyone so good at these forms of narrative, or any form of narrative for that manner. And I have heard thousands of hours of oratory. You are genuinely the best orator and writer I have ever encountered in my nearly 15,000 hours of listening to audiobooks of both fiction and non-fiction (primarily), podcasts, documentaries, etc., you exceed all of them in quality of narration and tie the best of them (the best of which were all non-fiction, excluding you now) for quality of content.
This was amazing after a long night of drinking and partying on Saturday, and now while I'm making jewelry on Monday, this is the quintessence of brilliance. Thank you.

@@Baldermort I used to be in the marines. I was 185 pounds. Able to run or outrun with the best of them. But after I blew my knee out a few years ago I can barely go up the stairs to take a piss. I was a leader nobody expected because I was a nerd. My higher ups could hear in my voice I was from NYC, so they knew I had an major attitude problem. I always took care of my guys regardless of what dumb orders we got. I was the loudest, angriest Cpl who didn’t let anyone bully his marines. Now tho? This surgery has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I WILL COME BACK STRONGER! The shame of my weakness weighs so heavily on me…. But I know my 2 friends who passed away would want me to rise up from this! Reading or listening to war hammer fuels my pride as an old used up marine! And I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH!

Listing to the fallen talk to el Johnson I’ve come to a realization both the fallen and the unforgiven were two sides of the same coin split apart for 10 thousand years both factions had their secrets but a inner circle high command that knew the truth of what happened on Caliban with ordinary marines unaware of the truth.
Most fallen dark angles are in fact loyal to the emperor believing it was the lion that betrayed them but now that their father has returns to set things strait the two sides of the story are finally peace’s back together like a tapestry most fallen can be redeemed while those marines the inner circle around Luther are the ones that fell to chaos the true fallen that can never be fully redeemed.
