This caused the P0100 FAULT and was NOT a failure of the AIR FLOW SENSOR, MAF sensor (flow meter)

Lots of faults will put up a MAF code on a conventional OBD2 scanner, it "could" be the MAF itself but you should get someone to give a diagnostic reading before you go buying parts in the hope that it will cure the fault. Some people are better than others at fault finding and normally "word of mouth" is better than finding a random phone number. I have been a motor mechanic for way over 50 years so I have seen a lot of bad advice given to people that have cost them a small and even a "large fortune" by "a bloke in the pub" You may be lucky but nine times out of ten you won't be. A lot of the problems on this engine (and all the later models) are caused by turbo boost pipes leaking that will put up a MAF code but not necessarily.

Hey mate looking for some advice. Have a 2007 Holden rodeo with the Isuzu 4jj1 motor. About 6 months ago driving out to the outlaws it threw a code about 60km into the drive. Code came up as maf sensor. Replaced the sensor and had no problems driving around Brisbane from northside to southside and back. Do the school drop off and pick ups which is about 120km a day no problems. Went to drive back to the outlaws (quite hilly) and it threw a code. Took it back to the same mechanic and they said it was a faulty maf sensor and replaced the then 3 month old one with a new one at no cost. Driven the car as normal and never had a problem since. On the weekend went to drive back to the outlaws and sure enough about 60km into the drive it threw a code. Once again saying maf sensor. Got no problems driving 80km each way on flat ground it just seems to be doing it when we get into the hills. Any advice would be appreciated. This problem has taken what was a damn reliable ute to a ute we can hardly drive as the same issue just keeps popping up. Do more km driving to the southside and back without throwing codes but as soon as we go hilly it throws them. Any ideas at all what could be causing this?
