- "A Rank Stranger" is a bluegrass tune first recorded by Ralph Stanley and the Stanley Brothers. It was later recorded by Bob Dylan.
Here, an excellent band of young musicians from Hinton. WV, play the song. On guitar is Dustin Northern, on 12-string guitar is Kody Burns, and on mandolin is Dalton Smith. This video was filmed in Kody's uncle's auto shop.
Fantastic boys, bravo! You’ll never get this moment back but how proud it’ll be to watch until you’re all old men. God bless my southern family! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👏👏

Could the mandolin player fill us in where/how he learned to play and what brand Mandolin he plays?
Hello Bonko. Never knew this video would get the popularity it did. I just accidentally ran across it and totally forgot me and my friends recorded it, with the mountain music trail.
I’m playing a Gibson F-5. I starting learning to play the mandolin at the age of 8. My grandpa had just about every Bill Monroe and the bluegrass boys album ever recorded, so I sat for hours and hours next to a record player/cassette player until I learned enough runs go out and feel comfortable playing.
You men are not good your great.what country voice should sound like.never give up playing
