    Great Video. I like the fact that the trailer is so configurable, very hany to get the setup 'just right' for your own boat. Straps do look 'quality' - you need to rely on that type of kit if it's the only thing stopping your boat 'launching' itself when you are half-way down the M6...... Keep the videos coming!

    Great bit of kit that trailer, and hopefully saves a lot of unnecessary prep before and after a day out on the water, a wise purchase. Those ratchet straps look the biz.
    I have a sea hog boat which I’m going to sell this spring and hopefully purchase a similar set up as you as I fish mostly alone and find launch and retrieve single handed a huge effort especially as I’m 70 😂, I’d love to come and have a chat with you one day for advice about all things SIB related

      @@TheReelIsle hi, I live in Douglas and my boat is stored at my mates farm in braddan, I mostly fish out of PSM and occasionally off peel.
      Just looking for a set up that I can manage single handed and the SIB looks just perfect.
      Love my sea hog but it’s just getting too much too launch and retrieve on my own,
      Need to have something much more easier to use and a SIB looks the perfect answer

      Paul it'd be a pleasure to meet for a chat - I'd be happy to run you through a few considerations when it comes to choosing an outfit. On my driveway I have a 3.65m and a 4m - you may want to pop round and see the size in person. I've also a 3.3m review boat being sent to me - I can let you know when that arrives for a skeet, too. The 3.65m will be gone by Wed next week however.
      How can I get hold of you? Email firstly to grab your phone number?

    Cracking trailer that, mine only has carpet bunks so I'm well jealous lol. But I do know I'll never go back to packing in the boot ever again a trailer's so much easier. Going to follow the updates on those ratchet straps as I can't remember how many different brands I've had to replace over the years because the UV has weakened them, hoping those Bison's will be the answer👍.

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  10 місяців тому

      Thanks Terry! Agreed - a trailer whatever the type is a huge upgrade. I'm hoping these Bisons do well - my other set of non ratchets are brilliant.

      Thank you! Where I fish is very much determined by the wind direction, but given perfect conditions I would choose to launch from Port St Mary. Fishing is much more diverse down that way. Douglas slip is also less than 5 mins from my house so that is convenient. And then there's Port Erin which is always absolutely stunning

    Thank you for thorough setup video. The trailer looks really great. I would love one for my Elling KB350 but I am a little concerned the distance from transom to where it is supposed to rest on the bow support is too small. It looks like you have moved it the bow support/winch arm as much forward as it can go. Maybe I can just get a longer bow support?

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  10 місяців тому +1

      There is a slightly smaller option, the SW265PN12. Considering how convenient this trailer makes things, I'd say buy the bigger one so that you can move up boat sizes in future. The 4m hull performs so well, and the size difference feels much more than just the 50cm difference. You'd definitely need to extend the bow support by quite a bit on a 3.5m

    On thing at a time for me.. just got the carbon pro and seamax wheels.. so will set this up a few times and see if I get fed up of the blow and go method..
    Did you not fancy the new 4 meter carbon pro? Or is that the plan when you sell the 365?

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  10 місяців тому +1

      Bit of a long story really, but the Scout 400 was partly a warranty claim on a previous boat, plus some cash. I believe the Scout and Carbon are the same hull with different fittings- I would have been happy with either boat. The Carbon is an excellent craft, as is the Scout. Enjoy your boat mate!

  • @DAvidzior1234
    @DAvidzior1234 9 місяців тому +1

    I have bought the same trailer. Have you lowered the wheel arches? I can see that I could lower the whole boat like 10cm more than it is now in the lowest position.

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  9 місяців тому +1

      That is impeccable timing, I'm outside right now and I've just lowered the whole thing by 2 inches and removed the rear roller. That gives me keel 1" clearance from the rear bar when pushing off

  • @ndepinto1
    @ndepinto1 7 місяців тому +1

    where did you buy the long rollers?

    • @TheReelIsle

      I bought the whole trailer mate but link in description. I think extreme sell similar rollers but very expensive

  • @pauljones7
    @pauljones7 7 місяців тому

    Just had my trailer delivered, as you mentioned in video you dropped the mudguards down , how far up did you drill new holes ?

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  7 місяців тому +1

      About 1.5 inches mate. But to gauge it I removed both black rollers and then winched the boat on with transom wheels. I then lowered the rows of rollers as low as I could while leaving clearance for the keel to get over the rear bar of the trailer. Once the rollers were as low as possible then I just fit the wheel arches where it made sense. A tiny bit under the height of the main rollers

    • @pauljones7

    Why are you selling your bt carbon 365?

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle  8 місяців тому +1

      I previously have an Excel but had a warranty claim on it. Rather than swap it for the same Excel model I opted to wait for their new boat that was still in manufacturing. I purchased the Carbon to use while I waited for Excel to send me their new boat. I also upgraded to 4meters. The Carbon is an ace boat. I sold it to a friend and he loves it.
