My PB sea bass - first in 20 years!
Today I caught my PB sea bass at 59cm - I haven't fished for our caught one of these since 20 years ago. Earlier this year I set myself a goal of catching one on a lure and after a dozen sessions, I finally caught one around our #isleofman shores.

      Hi mate, this my trailer which is ideal for a 4m boat: ua-cam.com/video/W3wR1MYTH9A/v-deo.html Whether a jetski trailer will work for you is dependent on thr frame measurements and existing structure to mount the bunks that'll be required to support the boat. There's no better than purpose built, but if you're handy then modifying an existing chassis is also viable- just keep an eye on spiraling costs

    With anchoring, what if your anchor gets stuck and you can't unhook it? happened to me in strong current, took me long time to unhook, I already was thinking to cut the rope. Any tricks or tips?

    • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle 2 місяці тому

      Almost happened to me a couple times too. Easiest method is to have a weak link - a cable tie. In other words your chain attached to the wrong end of the anchor - upside down so it's easy to pull backward. The cable tie connects the chain to the correct end of your anchor. If you get stuck the cable tie breaks and your anchor gets pulled backwards. Failing that, very very very carefully maneuver around in a semi circle so you're upside and then pull it out that way. Idling, no revs whatever- dangerous!

      About 1.5 inches mate. But to gauge it I removed both black rollers and then winched the boat on with transom wheels. I then lowered the rows of rollers as low as I could while leaving clearance for the keel to get over the rear bar of the trailer. • @TheReelIsle
      @TheReelIsle 3 місяці тому

      Hey thanks. I paid around £500 for the ECU. I know I got the extra 5 horses because the 9.9, 15 and 20 EFI engines are all identical aside from the ECU mapping and existence of the restrictor plate- identical otherwise. My acceleration and top speed went up and my rpms did too, moving back up to the 10" prop too. When I bought my engine the 20hp was hard to get hold of (covid), and there is no second hand market on the Isle of Man so for me buying the ecu separately was worth it. I've kept it too so I can sell the engine as the original 15hp and or sell the 20ecu separately in future

That looks great - perfect to let out the exact amount you want - and then does it ‘lock off’ reliably in place and just stay there? Is it happy to be under salt water like that? Thanks - I just got one from Cornwall Canoes as suggested - WAY better quality and size than the £27 job I got from Amazon… Can I ask what weight anchor you’re using there? My 3.2kg is going to be too heavy for this nylon cord I think. Also do you mark the nylon with a sharpie or something for lengths in ft?

      Hey I use a 1.5kg grapnel and 4m of chain. I just estimate the warp length rather than mark the cord

    One utuber had these pins slide out during bouncy choppy waves in ocean, they definitely need improvement

      I've had a pin almost slide out too - you need to remember to check them every now and then. They could do either a stopper nut on them

      Thanks mate, top recommendation that! Mine is deflating slowing so I have a replacement on the way!

    The audio is very good, i wish other people took sound seriously, some channels are pretty much unwatchable because of bad sound. Although your sound is very slightly out of sync with the picture.

      Thank you! I will try and fix that in my next video- you'd think the software would measure Bluetooth latency and adjust it automatically but I'll figure out how to do it
