Out of those you´ve mentioned I´m currently most hyped for the Spirit series. That ship just looks so good. Yep, these are more stabstantial ships than before, between the Hull C, Argo SRV, and Vulture, we've seen some major gameplay ships come in this year. Hopefully the Expanse joins them next year!
I got the spirit a1 as soon as they announced the spirit series because it reminds me of the fighter on starfox 64. Might be a dumb reason but it's good enough for me.
I still cant get over the production quality of these videos. Its really excellent. Also, I am very excited for the Zeus 2. I love the RSI aesthetic and would love to see more ships in the Cutlass size group.
Most of the current vehicle setups are suitable for group/org play. And many groups and Orgs ALREADY role play their own 'fiction' within the game. Some even creatively engage in Machinima, creating their own series of drama and action. But CIG have not (so far) created storied missions that require the use of vehicles. That is a missed opportunity.
Until ground vehicles specialize in anti air defense (at least the combat variant) I just can’t see ground vehicles being something I would choose over a combat ship.

I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned it but I kinda just realized the reason the Apollo is being worked on all of a sudden is probably because of the fact that the Polaris will probably make use of the assets and vice versa. Remember the Polaris comes with a full med bay and they are both RSI vessels.
It's still interesting to me that passenger transport isn't in-game yet. I suppose they just don't want to treat NPCs like cargo - but at the end of the day it's going to be the same thing with extra animations. I suppose there are ways they could add some depth to it, but CIG's history would dictate that they add it in the most barebones state possible and create depth after several years of small additions.
I really want to see more 1-2 person exploration/science ships with good scanners and big fuel tanks. I love the freelancer Dur but hate the way it looks
It's crazy that so many people think they're going to use the Polaris all the time. Its main weapons may cost as much as entire space ships every time you fire. That's why I prefer something like a Perseus, even if the Perseus doesn't have a hangar.

I plan to get the Polaris for solo/small group play. I believe it is a larger Carrack with a larger hangar. It will be a nice exploration yacht to leave in Space while exploring a planet. A home away from home and remote base of operations.
The problem with crowdfunding games is that unlike games that are sponsored by a larger corporation or company the crowd funded games don’t have to answer to shareholders who want results. Yes, a game should be released when it’s ready but you need to have some kind of an end in sight that people can plan for.
I could see a mission where you use the Argo SRV to tug ships to Brio's breaker yard or another scrap yard where you can cut the ship down and scrap it . Or maybe they can use it for towing people that their ship has Ben soft deathed or damage and bring them to a landing pad to repair there are a lot of ways you can use it

I didn't even have the Polaris on my radar until the concept rework video. It's not a full capital ship, it's a Corvette designed to be a capital ship killer. Nice job on the video. I am one of those, believe it when we see it types though. As for Polaris. It fits as a Corvette equipped as a fleet action ship. I.E. it is specifically designed to work in concert with other ships, offering the firepower of bigger ships like Idris but lacking the self defense turrets sizes of the same... thus needing to be part of a fleet or small flotilla of ships. This is not a ship you would tool around in doing cargo or bounties or bunkers. This is a ship you would do any mission that has multiple capital size ships, corvette or larger. As for the crew... you are correct this is also not a ship you will jump into and run around blowing everyone up in. Try that and you will die a quick death on your own. What it will have is some self defense size turrets, including point defense (something cap ships have critical need for) as well as the ability to launch a fighter or maybe multi small Furies style ships. As for the crew, you will need a larger crew to man this thing, no doubt. Just not going to be a single person playable ship. And that's that. As for the crew however, and the fact that CIG is actively working on the release of this ship, it makes me wonder if FINALLY we are going to see a major update the A.I./NPC crew systems! tbh, i'm most excited for the SRV, solely because of how creative you can get with it. It's designed to tow ships, which can easily be used to Strategically transfer equipment to an alternate location (S.T.E.A.L. if you will(thanks TheFatElectritican) during events like jumptown, or even the upcoming blockade runner mission, as keeping areas clear of debris, or other objects could be vital to an operations function. Not to mention cleaning up after a war over jumptown where many ships are likely to go down, giving a "bottom feeder" type option for salvage, as you just have to wait for your profit to fall from the sky, in a literal sense, which will be made even better when hull munching becomes a thing.
I was thinking the Spirit line of ships is missing something.... Namely, more width. I propose that the engine count be upgraded from a measly 8 main engines to a more stately 12.
Really hope we'll get the Railen in 2024. Absolutely adore its design, and the fact that they already have a....I think whitebox of it done is good news
I think after the Apollo, CIG gameplay designers will start work on ship Refining, and the Expanse. Then they'llove on to the Odyssey, as that will need Refining to fill its role.
The 2 Origin vehicles will finally make my 400i complete. 🥰 ...apart from the fact that both exploration as well as NPC transport missions are still missing. ☹
Seemed odd to me that they have the bomber variant ready before the one that's just a cargo hold. I guess holding it to drop with the SRV when the vehicle tractor beams work
content for the tanks could be easily created, take the air defenses from the orison platforms put them on a huge bunker on hurston and you have ah target for the tanks and ground vehicles.
There's lots of videos on it but the C1 NEEDS to have a buff at launch vs the specs on the site as those were made BEFORE they resized the ship. It should have more cargo and shields mainly and lacking that TOP turret makes this bigger than the cutty black with less utility and that's not fair really. However the looks can't be beat!
Another great video! Thank you for your work on these! However, as much as the towing ship sounds awesome, I see so many ways griefers are going to have a blast with this.
I’m so excited for the C1. Not only is it stunningly beautiful rivaling the MSR, it’s also quite a bit smaller and more practical than my beloved MSR, which makes it much more practical to fly solo.
I've asked this before; Have you heard anything about the SRV jumping with a ship in tow and/or Multi SRVs jumping with a large ship in tow? ;-) The later would be far more incredible.
The Expanse (In its fully useful state) will only come after tractor beams have come into play. It will be required for the exchange of Ore Containers from the likes of the Prospector or Mole. Hopefully we will see the SRV, Expanse and active tractor beams in the very near future.

I wonder if we'll be able to use the tractor beam to fling asteroids at space stations
content for the tanks could be easily created, take the air defenses from the orison platforms put them on a huge bunker on hurston and you have ah target for the tanks and ground vehicles.
I learned how looks a turian fighter, it's also a lot like the moldy craw, ship of katarn in dark force.
So excited to finally have my C1
Good Video, Informative and relevant.
how about liberator? its gonna be critical for pyro if we dont have the kraken
Zeus Mk II is on the pledge store right now.
I wonder what is the state of the 600i interior redesign?
Every going nuts over the f8c and im over going man I want a spirit a1. Lol
New ships... I was a backer in 2013. How many of us OB are now dead lmao
I can’t wait to have my C1 and A1. I don’t know what everybody else is crying about but I’m excited for them.
I would honestly love to get updates on the Odyssey
Thank you, Tomatoman
Another great video! Thank you for your work on these! However, as much as the towing ship sounds awesome, I see so many ways griefers are going to have a blast with this.
I’m so excited for the C1. Not only is it stunningly beautiful rivaling the MSR, it’s also quite a bit smaller and more practical than my beloved MSR, which makes it much more practical to fly solo.
I've asked this before; Have you heard anything about the SRV jumping with a ship in tow and/or Multi SRVs jumping with a large ship in tow? ;-)
The later would be far more incredible.
I'll be happy when I can finally fly my Spirit E1.
The Expanse (In its fully useful state) will only come after tractor beams have come into play. It will be required for the exchange of Ore Containers from the likes of the Prospector or Mole. Hopefully we will see the SRV, Expanse and active tractor beams in the very near future.
I had the same thought about the spirit it looks like the normandy which is a turian and human design 🤔
amazing work thx
Im looking forward to the expanse. Its been 1,5 year since they talked about it
They could very easily make it near impossible to fly on some planets, requiring vehicles to traverse the surface.
I feel like vehicles will never be useful unless they implement something like this.
The Polaris hangar also services ships as I understand it
There is such a lack of use for ground vehicles and bombers right now. It really sucks
Asteroids can not currently be moved as they are static objects as per CIG a few months ago.
Hopefully they at least show off the Kraken again- it will probably be an important org ship once we get Pyro
