The bounty hunter version is the Marque (Mark) as in "letter of marque." An old naval tradition of giving a privateer crew an "official license" for piracy against the enemies of the crown. Or in this case, bounty hunting.
Turrets are all size three weapons iirc. Es is supposed to fit the cyclone class of ground vehicles. Agree there’s plenty up in the air. All I know is I can hardly wait for their release. My guess with the ST is it will be the “Phoenix” or “James Bond” version, with more combat ability than EC or cl but no eWar (emp and dampener) with a more luxurious internal design. Just a guess… and I bet one of mine will be upgraded to it.
My guess is that the Zeus would be pretty sluggish, with that big health pool. If not, there’s no real reason to go for the C1 Spirit over the CL (besides looks - it has less cargo, is a bigger target and doesn’t even have multiple entryways - and it’s still a medium hauler with a tractor beam….) unless it goes way up in price. Still picked a CL up though :) Edit: I’d say it would be a fair competitor to the max, the cargo difference is minimal in exchange for more pilot weapons. The max’s rework may see it gain a tractor beam(?)
The Vanguard is a heavy fighter. The Zeus is a larger multi-crew ship. So it makes sense to me that the shields are stronger than a Vanguard. What I don't quite understand is that the floorplans appear to have an airlock right behind the cockpit across from the suit lockers. But the exterior doesn't appear to reflect that, so I would presume there would be some modifications in that regard.
Yeah, I'm trying to justify having both ships. I'm an Origin fan, and have the 400i, but it's a L ship with a M Radar. The Zeus MK II is a M ship with a L Radar. What advantages does the 400i have?
@@KevinFelker 400i have a size 3 shield, 42 scu of cargo (+10), one more remote turret, the turrets have size 3 weapons and have a dedicated garage for a hover bike that won't take up storage space.
@@KevinFelker Can't be sure yet, but I'd put money on the 400i being faster on top of what was said in ^ comment. We also don't yet know how the jump drive sizes are going to dictate how our ships go from system to system. Maybe the ES has an easier time going through wormholes than the 400i? And iirc the 400i (like other Origin ships) has a fuel scoop, so it's hydrogen fuel will likely last much longer than the ES, but I could be totally wrong on that point. Last thing, many many years ago, the devs said something about how luxury ships will provide some kind of bonus to our ability to have NPC crews stay happier for longer times away from stations/planets. Like some kind of morale boost for having nicer accommodations in ships. IDK if this is still planned, but if so it bears considering if you plan to hire NPCs and keep them out on long excursions. So in reality it sounds like the advantages the ES would have are 1.) Scanning 2.) better forward fire (although fighting in either ship is probably bad idea) 3.) Jump gate characteristics (but that could go either way) 4.) This is speculation but I'd imagine the 400i may get an "upkeep tax" or something for being a luxury ship. It might cost more to maintain an Origin over a similar ship from another manufacturer.
@@stevenh9474 I've been around since kickstarter, don't think I ever heard that part about NPC morale. Sounds pretty cool, as I plan on running with at least one NPC. Thanks for the detailed reply.
NO! You get a shit Crusader Bomber as a loaner. How does a useless bomber equate to any of the Zeus variants? I got next 0 cargo and a bay full of near useless bombs, when I ordered a Zeus CL.
For the MR vs. Cutty Blue discussion…. This changes now I think. With Master Modes the EMP can now be considered much more seriously…. If you can jump…. You no longer have shields up.
Know what this reminds me of? The Titan's big brother. Can fight and do a little cargo, mining, exploration, etc without excelling at any of them. Does seem like an _everyman_ ship.
00:36 Zeus was made before jump points where discovered, what only billionares could buy was the drive that could jump across systems, way after the Zeus.
A solid maybe since they're apparently going to update similarly sized ship's components....making me think we will have 3 size subcategories: connie size, a1 size, and cutlass size
I think is they start implementing atmosphere flight dynamics properly, you will see a big ship handling diffidence between the Zeus and it's competitors. like the Freelancer and Drake.
am I the only one thinking that the combat oriented one is the one being the less protected ? I mean the exploration one has one supplementary shield and I have heard that the cargo one has supplementary armor but nothing for the combat one, huh, strange
The Zeus MK II would most likely be a military cargo or a cargo contract work suitable for cargo contracts freelance worker in Star Citizen with a large team of 10 players or more. That's my assumption since it is a large cargo spaceship/starship. Not my type of ship, I prefer a slightly less smaller ship. But cool design ship. I bet you can put a tank in this cargo spaceship 🚀. I do not understand why this youtuber thinks this is a bounty hunter ship when it is not a bounty hunter ship since it is large cargo ship for contract cargo ship work.
at the current price it's an excellent boat especially for 138 SCU with the level of shields until scanning gameplay and the secure cargo works it's better than an MSR for hauling
i think the ES has an open hallway through the middle that cant be filled with cargo, similar to the C1, where i believe the CL is allowed to go wall to wall cargo with no access to rear ramp
Agreed. CIG also said the reworked 600i was going to fit a Nova but never mentioned how it would fit underneath the 600i to begin with. Years later the rework is still “pending”. Take some of the schematics with a grain of salt
@@joelellis7035 without a ramp the 600i just does not have the clearance to load a Nova tank by elevator in the belly of the 600i. The main point of my comment. There are plenty of clips mentioning it will be able to carry a Tonk. Solid chance they will backtrack on that idea OR add a ramp which they never mentioned. Irregardless of when the rework was announced.
@@Alopen-xb1rb No, the only mentioning of the 600i carrying the Tonk came with the announcement of the rework. It was to emphasize how they reworked the design to eliminate the player complaints about wasted space inside the ship. The mentioning of the Tonk was a surprise because it contrasted with the luxury aesthetic of the Origin line of ships. And you're unnecessarily trying to box in the argument that a ramp is necessary. Like they did with the 400i, the landing gear need only be extended for the 600i to give the necessary clearance for the Tonk.
Unless there's something we don't know about the Zeus; it does EVERYTHING better than any ship you could say is a competitor. So if you're in the market for a medium sized ship the Zeus is probably what you want.
Actually, it doesn't, though it's easy to miss where it falls behind. STL already made the case why someone would want another ship than the MR. The ES, while capable, falls behind the Freelancer DUR in both combat ability and flight range due to the refinery aboard the DUR. If you want a combat explorer, the DUR is the better ship. As for the CL, the better pilot controlled weaponry means the Freelancer MAX is actually a superior ship for a solo pilot, while the top turret provides coverage while landed. The bottom turret of the CL only keeps point blank ground units from boarding the ship. As always, the right ship to get depends on what the player intends in it's use, and wait for the Q&A before deciding when you can.
@@kebasor yes the freelancer has more guns, but depending on how agile the Zeus is, it might have more on target time. And it's hard to argue against twice the shields.
@@Dracounguis Twice the shielding is, definitely, a nice feature, but having twice the firepower is also a deterrent against being attacked in the first place. Remember, not only does a Freelancer have twice the gunpower of a Zeus, those guns are all gimbled, which means it will inherently have more on-target time than the fixed guns of the Zeus. In addition, the very advantages of the Zeus in other respects (larger internal volume, larger components) work against it having even equal agility to the Freelancer. I look at the Freelancer as an explorer meant to fight, while the Zeus is an explorer meant to run. There's nothing wrong with having both.
Did you attend CitzenCon? I was lucky enough to go and it was really fantastic. So glad I made the effort to go. Not going to buy the Zeus. Kind of want a Pioneer now that they've gotten us excited about base building.
the zeus is just a constellation not sure why we got A1 loaners tho and not a constellation. the A1 SUCKS so bad the ship handles like utter dogshit compaired to other ships in it's class. it's a buggy mess too.
I'm really excited to see how stealth mechanics will play out over the next few years with scanning being fleshed out... I bought the CL as a replacement for my Kore because I like to run cargo and smuggle but wanted something that would have just a little more space than 6 scu. Here's hoping it'll be as fast as it looks and eventually have another paint scheme than hazard tape/blue/black.
Literally yesterday I got a Spirit C1 to Zeus ES upgrade because 75% of the cargo capacity for ability to explore would be worth it. Then the C1 came to PTU with an upgraded 64 SCU... FML
The primary thing I'm curious about with at least the CL and MR (since those are the two I grabbed) is the type of ground vehicle they'll be capable of hauling
For me, the MR is a close call to the Cutlass Blue. The question becomes the final performance. The Zeus is said to be less agile than the Crusader Spirit series. The Blue is faster and has better acceleration though turning is, roughly, the same as the Spirit. Which, comparitively, implies the Zeus won't be able to keep up with the Blue. And if it can't keep up with the Blue, what is the intended target? The pilot firepower in the Blue is higher, but with a crew of 3, the Zeus, probably, has a higher total gun output and more flexible firepower. The Zeus trades missiles for the EMP. Depending on your play style, that may be a positive or a negative. If the Zeus doesn't fly as well as the Cutty Blue, using the EMP might be problematic.
thanks for this! i was fighting myself with getting either the ES or the CL and i went for the ES, it shall be my home ship lol. thanks again for this vid

I don't see any purpose for the ES and I don't understand why so many players are so enthusiastic about this variant, for me the ES is neither fish nor flesh, it is nothing half and nothing whole, but I am very enthusiastic about the CL and the MR, the former as a small trader, the latter as a daily driver and have also bought these two variants.
It's the Freelancer obsoleter. Especially DUR seems like a straight downgrade from the Zeus and the MAX at very least isn't better than the CL. If there had been a missile variant the entire Freelancer line would have been in danger :D
Hello, can someone tell me what ship they give in the meanwhile if you buy a ZEUK MKII MR ? thanks a lot, i like the concept of the ship, so i'm hesitating in buying it if they give you a crappy ship instead while waiting :l
I wonder if the ST is a transport like the E1, would make sense for them to delay it since the E1 got fucked over with a delayed release compared to the other Spirits
CIG stated that the Zeus is the first ship with the new component tuning. So basically you spend a ton of time comparing stats from one system to another. AKA meaningless.
If i can fit a roc in the zeus MR i will probably make that my daily driver for its ability to just do a little of anything except cargo i quess, but i can always just rent a ship for cargo running if i want to do that for the day
If I may, I think the most direct line of comparison for the Xeus ES is the 400i. It has about the same shield HP pool, very similar in cargo capacity, the same pilot controlled weapons and similar scanning ranges. The primary advantage the Zeus has at this moment over the 400i is that it should be able to navigate small jump portals as it is comparable in size to a freelancer. The 400i has the advantage of dedicated vehicle storage, an additional turret and the cartography table but it’s limited to medium jump points and up. The only reason I am not buying one is that I already own a 400i and at this point I am not ready to trade it for a Zeus. Even though I want one. I will likely pick up a Zeus MR in game when it’s released. I think There is a lot of good gameplay capabilities there but I am not going to spend real money on it. Also I’m already deep enough into this project and I am doing my best to hold off on giving CIG fresh money until Squadron 42 is released. STL I love your content, I have followed your channel for years and I really enjoy your commentary. Thanks so much.
I was a little sad that the CL took the place of the Max as the largest cargo able to pass through small jump points. It was one of the major things the Max had going for it. I guess it's still the cheapest though as I'm guessing the CL will be around $200 when it is releases.
melted my corsair for this. I have always wanted a bounty hunter ship and would of loved a corsiar variant. If the MR does not have pilot controlled emp I will get my corsair back.

But I want to support CIG and put my weight on the scale in this post-Citcon week with "1 more pledge" (yea right, i kno)
I really like the style and design of the ship. But im not sure which one to go for. A ES or CL? Which one would be a good general purpose ship? I have a caterpillar, cutlass black, andromeda, and a couple of other small fighters and ground vehicles.

The bounty hunter version is the Marque (Mark) as in "letter of marque." An old naval tradition of giving a privateer crew an "official license" for piracy against the enemies of the crown. Or in this case, bounty hunting.
This is making my MSR look sad with wasted space and those ugly manned turrets. Too bad I can't lower my upgraded game package.
Still picked a CL up though :)
Edit: I’d say it would be a fair competitor to the max, the cargo difference is minimal in exchange for more pilot weapons.
Very good video, as usual! I would also compare the ES with the 400i.
A silver-metallic paint job on the Cutlass Blue = Din Djarin aka Mando's original ship
- This is the way
for anyone wondering this is about to come out in 4.0 or so was teased you can really never tell guess we will see
its the python from ED and i need it.
For the MR vs. Cutty Blue discussion…. This changes now I think. With Master Modes the EMP can now be considered much more seriously…. If you can jump…. You no longer have shields up.
There was for a breif moment a "Racing" tab on the Zeus page so it is thought that a racing variant may get announced at IAE
Know what this reminds me of? The Titan's big brother. Can fight and do a little cargo, mining, exploration, etc without excelling at any of them. Does seem like an _everyman_ ship.
The Zeus is a ship I‘d love to work myself up to in game. Buying in in the pledge store would skip way too much progression.
The CL doesn't seem like a good deal compared to Constellation Taurus. More Cargo and a lot stronger weaponry for not much more eddies.
Playing Cyberpunk...I see you choom
00:36 Zeus was made before jump points where discovered, what only billionares could buy was the drive that could jump across systems, way after the Zeus.
I imagine the Zeus Mk II will be a fantastic org support ship and could possibly function as an armored Rover transport?🤔
A solid maybe since they're apparently going to update similarly sized ship's components....making me think we will have 3 size subcategories: connie size, a1 size, and cutlass size
GAWD this ship is SLEEK! I just got Star Citizen and I wanna get something like this eventually.
I think is they start implementing atmosphere flight dynamics properly, you will see a big ship handling diffidence between the Zeus and it's competitors. like the Freelancer and Drake.
I believe the reason the CL has more cargo space has to do with the lack of top turret above the cargo area.
But ES doesn't have one too
@@xvieirax ahhh my mistake, I thought it did when I first saw it.
The difference between the ES and the CL might be interior height, but it will probably change before release.
am I the only one thinking that the combat oriented one is the one being the less protected ? I mean the exploration one has one supplementary shield and I have heard that the cargo one has supplementary armor
but nothing for the combat one, huh, strange
“Storage suit for lockers” lol hell yeah man good video🫡
The Zeus MK II would most likely be a military cargo or a cargo contract work suitable for cargo contracts freelance worker in Star Citizen with a large team of 10 players or more. That's my assumption since it is a large cargo spaceship/starship. Not my type of ship, I prefer a slightly less smaller ship. But cool design ship. I bet you can put a tank in this cargo spaceship 🚀. I do not understand why this youtuber thinks this is a bounty hunter ship when it is not a bounty hunter ship since it is large cargo ship for contract cargo ship work.
at the current price it's an excellent boat especially for 138 SCU with the level of shields until scanning gameplay and the secure cargo works it's better than an MSR for hauling
my cutlass blue looks so bad vs that even vs the cutter
i think the ES has an open hallway through the middle that cant be filled with cargo, similar to the C1, where i believe the CL is allowed to go wall to wall cargo with no access to rear ramp
Thanks for the information
ST:
Stealth?
Status?
Sport Touring?
STarfarer?
ShuTtle?
STriker?
It may read 128 SCU, but honestly, I only see 64 SCU when looking at it...
- i.e. 4x the MR's cargo capacity, instead of 4x that of the ES
Agreed. CIG also said the reworked 600i was going to fit a Nova but never mentioned how it would fit underneath the 600i to begin with. Years later the rework is still “pending”. Take some of the schematics with a grain of salt
@Alopen-xb1rb the rework of the 600i was only announced in the past year.
Tarsus is the Jump drive modification not the Quantum drive. The Zeus predates Jump point discovery by decades
I kinda hope the MR will be good for something but I'm not convinced about its combat ability. Guess we'll see.
Also the Zeus is the first ship marked with the new shield/potentially component sizes so we literally know nothing.
What about the c1?
The time SC Comes out, You'll have to change your name to STLYOldblood!
Did you attend CitzenCon? I was lucky enough to go and it was really fantastic. So glad I made the effort to go. Not going to buy the Zeus. Kind of want a Pioneer now that they've gotten us excited about base building.
Still wish they made the original available because it looks so much cooler
the zeus is just a constellation
not sure why we got A1 loaners tho and not a constellation.
the A1 SUCKS so bad the ship handles like utter dogshit compaired to other ships in it's class.
it's a buggy mess too.
I got the CL. I really liked the design of the ships. Also, I like the cargo compacity for the price.
Ditto … the ES will be my Millennium Falcon once in game.
No, you shouldnt. You get 150 Mil ingame for 11€. Anybody who pays for a ship on the pledge-store with those prices really either likes buying ships on the pledge stores, or he/she doesnt know overpriced the ships actually are.
Yes, its against the RoC
No, i dont care
I don't see any purpose for the ES and I don't understand why so many players are so enthusiastic about this variant, for me the ES is neither fish nor flesh, it is nothing half and nothing whole, but I am very enthusiastic about the CL and the MR, the former as a small trader, the latter as a daily driver and have also bought these two variants.
SO, kinda like Mark Wahlberg when he was a singer, and went by Mark E Mark, this is the Mark 2 Mark?Markue? LOLES is tempting exploration ship
I know you compared the CL to the freelancer Max, but what about CL compared to RAFT?
Since this was done 10 months ago, you might want to do a remake of this video. But, not much has really changed in your description.
One thing the Zeus really shows is just how outdated the Freelancer is
CIG stated that the Zeus is the first ship with the new component tuning.
So in summary, the $250 ship outperforms the $150 ship.
Just bought the MR! Can't wait to fly it in a year
As a longtime mustang alpha only owner, the RSI CL looks very tempting. Robert bout to finally get me hahahah
Would the Cargo varient be an ok daily driver? I currently daily a C1 Spirit and not sure if I should upgrade
I was a little sad that the CL took the place of the Max as the largest cargo able to pass through small jump points. It was one of the major things the Max had going for it. I guess it's still the cheapest though as I'm guessing the CL will be around $200 when it is releases.
Well, if you think about it, the Constellation Taurus is at the same price, I don't think it will increase much.
melted my corsair for this. I have always wanted a bounty hunter ship and would of loved a corsiar variant. If the MR does not have pilot controlled emp I will get my corsair back.
Hello, if you have a chance, could you make a video comparing the 325A vs MR please
CIG - "Proudly providing conflicting ship sales information for a decade"
Gosh, I LOVE the Freelancer DUR, but except for pilot guns, this seems like a step up in basically every way. D':
Really wish the Zeus would be modular like the Galaxy... I hope its just because it would be OP otherwise.
I can't decide and look at the store and my credit card for the last 2 days..
But I want to support CIG and put my weight on the scale in this post-Citcon week with "1 more pledge" (yea right, i kno)
i have upgraded my c1 tu the zeus mk2 fright cl :) i hope the traktor beam works better then the one on the c1
They already mentioned that the Zeus MK 2 shields are with the new balance pass, all other ships will be rebalanced accordingly.
Why did they put the turret under the ship, while on top it could offer minimal defense when the ship is on the ground...
Traded the freelancer up to the es. I will miss those guns though.
Ooh too late already bought haha. Then again, it was an upgrade from the freelancer max.
I really like the style and design of the ship. But im not sure which one to go for. A ES or CL? Which one would be a good general purpose ship? I have a caterpillar, cutlass black, andromeda, and a couple of other small fighters and ground vehicles.
I'm pretty sure the Mk2 MR variant ispronounced "Marky Mark".
Would I buy it??? Absolutely not!
But I don't need to, my brother got it, so I'm good. lol
ST could have been the original designation of the ES referring to “Standard” version.
ST was listed as "Status" in the CitCon presentation slide. We'll probably see it at IAE.
