Just came across this new video on my app and I must say, this is one of the best overview vids on a Cadillac in recent years. Nicely done. It's nice to see survivor cars like this Eldorado still being enjoyed for what it is. This goes to show you that with proper care and correct maintenance, cars of this vintage can last as long as you want it to. This generation of Cadillac's are very well-built cars.

Very happy to hear you liked the video that's an awesome comment. We have a lot of cars on the way new episodes every 2 weeks. Mostly muscle cars this season but some odd ball ones as well. Thanks for commenting

I just bought an '01 Candy apple red ESC last year in the States with 67,000 miles that has never seen winter. People are always complimenting me on how beautiful this car looks. It's my summer car now and I drive it up the highway at 140-150kmh all the time (Waze). Can't believe how well this car runs and drives.

I have a 2001 ETC with 320k km's ... Wife would rather drive this than either of the other 2 vehicles we have. And yes; be prepared if you step into it because it will pull the steering wheel out of your hands ... lol. 😆

Old guy here and I have always had luxury cars .. Buick Riviera, Electra, Wildcats etc. I have a 2001 ETC and will never get rid of it. Wife would never let me. She loves this car. Over 300k km's and no unusual issues. Never seen winter. Originally from Maine USA. Agree that you have to keep an eye on the speed because he is right that you will find yourself doing a comfy 120 to 130. Great on gas. If the starter goes; it is under the intake manifold.

You know we've done quite the lineup of cars on this channel, lots of classic muscle cars, some newer cars and other misc cars. But what always blows me away is the response this one car gets. There is no car that gets more lone on this channel than this Eldorado. There really must be something to it because it seems constant. Its intersting you talk about the never winter driven aspect, that really is what kills cars. Always wondered what a more modern car such as yours would be like had it never seen winter... in theory can last almost forever with proper maintenance... Thanks for dropping in. Any other cars youd like to see on the channel?

I live in South West Ontario; so all my cars get Krown'd .. Definitely have to do regular maintenance. After all; cars are a big investment. The "newest" we drive is a 2015 Chrysler 300S. That's the Summer car and just reaching 40k km but like I said; the wife would rather drive the Eldorado. I sacrifice a 2003 Grand Cherokee Overland to the Winter drive but she is always prepped right and still in good shape. I worked on a 2015 Mazda this past summer that had never been rustproofed and after breaking 2 bolts trying to replace the front bearing I put it back together and told the owner to scrap it. 8 years old and its junk. If you live in an area that salts the roads you have to rustproof or expect to have to buy new again after you probably just paid the current one off. No trade in value left if you don't ... just sayin' @@SubdivisionAuto

this was also my first car! i just bought a 92 ETC recently, it comes with the 4.9L V8 rather than the northstar which i definitely prefer. slightly less horsepower, but more reliable. bought it for $2950 with 95k miles. i love that thing
i also prefer the 92's design, though the body is the same it's got a pretty nice chrome trim that goes all the way around the car as well as a chrome grill and chrome license plate and backup light trim. that gives it more definition. the only thing i really prefer on the 93 is the steering wheel, so i may honestly just swap mine out for one of those (i just love the wood trim)
that said it's still a beautiful car! i hope i keep mine as long as he's had his.

I bought a 2002 ETC from a Copart in Oregon for $225. It has less than 66,000 miles and will need the Northstar Performance repair. It has been sitting safely in my garage since July 2019.

As much as I enjoyed the video, a suggestion: Show the car. Most of your conversation would have been more effective as voice-overs as videos of the Eldorado's details were highlighted, maybe scenes of the car in motion, pan over the instrument panel and gauges, things like that. Kind of the way a show like Motorweek on PBS does it; you still hear and absorb the dialog, but you're seeing more of the subject: The car! I'm looking to buy a Cadillac exactly like the one here, same color, trim, wheels (even the wood trim on the steering wheel!), so I got interested in seeing this video. But like I said: More of the car, please.

Have had 2 Northstar Eldorados, ‘94 and (still have) ‘02. Rule #1 don’t buy the ETC. The S model has lower numerical final drive so better mileage and less noise at freeway speed. ETC is too tightly sprung and the long doors and sunroof become annoying rattle. Rule #2 no sunroof. They rattle and nobody can fix one. Observation #1; if the head gasket problem is indeed caused by GM going to shorter head bolts shouldn’t they have a different part#? Shouldn’t you be able to use the vin# to determine whether that car had the deficiency ? Instead the resale value of all Northstar cars I’d tanked due to a problem that effects a specific production run. I’m inclined to think the real root of the problem is GM corporate switch to Dex-Cool. The benefit to GM is by extending the coolant life interval they get the car out of warranty before it ‘needs’ a cooling system service. Disadvantage to owner is a radiator full of red mud. Both of my cars got switched to conventional green coolant and 2 year change interval, never had a problem. Another observation is that while this is a big heavy car, at 3,850 lbs it’s 400 to 600 lbs lighter than a Mercedes based Dodge Challenger which is represented as a performance car. Just sayin’😅
