This video shows 2 different vacuums. One that has the stick that goes directly to the motor and one with the built in crevice tool. I don't get why Dyson refuses to put directions in the box. Mine has the crevice tool and it took a minute to figure out that the crevice tool has to go between the motor and the stick. I didn't know because the picture on my box didn't show that and showed the model with the stick going directly into the motor.

The video should show you how to mount the docking station on the wall. I was looking for that when the Dyson rep sent me the video but that information was not included. I needed it because my new machine did not include the installation pamphlet.
Directions for how to mount on the wall will depend on what material your wall is made from, not the item you're mounting. Method and fasteners would be different for plasterboard, masonry, tiles, timber, etc - you're best searching UA-cam for a video on mounting items to the type of wall you have.
Hi there - on the Dyson V15 Detect™ vacuum, the trigger needs to be held continually for the machine to run. On some of our other cordless models including the Dyson V12 Detect™, Gen5detect™, Omni-glide™ and Micro 1.5kg vacuums, we now include a single button power control which doesn't need to be held down in use.
Dyson needs to include the correct instructions for each different style Dyson vacuum. I have the V15 Detect, shown in minute 2:35. It is nothing like my last Dyson vacuum, and there are ZERO instructions or pictures showing the basic connection. As a consumer, if you pay over $500 for a vacuum, I don't think it is asking too much for Dyson to include a picture showing that the crevice tool needs to be connected inside the main vacuum, BEFORE the attachments It took me 15 minutes digging through the box, and looking on UA-cam to see if I was missing a piece Very ANNOYING. I can NOT be the only consumer that had this very basic assembly problem.
My new Dyson V15 Detect Absolute has a curious defect. The High Torque Cleaner Head works perfectly when it is attached directly to the to the vacuum unit. But when it is attached to the wand, the brush spins erratically and most of the time, not at all. The other two cleaner heads that came with it operate perfectly, both when connected directly to the vacuum and also when connected to the wand. I contacted Dyson a week ago and the lady I spoke to said that the plan was to send me a new High Torque Cleaner Head, (despite the fact that the one I have works perfectly when connected direct to the vacuum). But I was told that Dyson does not have any of these in stock. I was asked to ring again in a couple of weeks. This is most unsatisfactory. The package was purchased direct from Dyson UK only two months ago and has only been used for a total of about one to two hours. What do you suggest I do ?

first off you need to reinforce the wall with concrete or a laminate beam. everything need to be sanded and level at that point you need to figure out the correct screw size and the option of washers or anchor bots or toggle bolts or wood screws or taco concrete screws. you also need to make sure the mount is level which can be accomplilised with a 100 dollar 4 foot level or a laser level that is from china. once you get that site arranged and secured you pump 2 screws in that bad boy and you can hang the Dyson, your kids your. dog or your husband or wife- its all very simple

I am pretty sure it does, it comes with a dusting tool but i dont know if it comes with a normal crevice tool or the purple one with lights, maybe thats an even more expensive model.
Is there a little screen protector on the lcd screen pre installed, because I removed a plastic foil. I thought there was a little lip on it to remove it, is that correct?
I purchased 2 of these one for the house and one to give to my mom.I never got a chance to use it as the instructions weren't clear, frustrated the crap out of me. So damn annoying that a so called "high end" vac would have the audacity to not have the adequate instructions for the end user. I returned both.
Brand new V15 detect. Tried it out and 10 minutes later the filter warning is on even though the filter is looking brand new !!! Anyone having this issue ?
I had the same issue. Unfortunately, I had no other choice but to send it back for a replacement. Turnaround in Germany was good - less than a week and they covered all shipping costs. Otherwise, it is an AWESOME machine and we love the ease of use and wicked performance.
Same problem here, they’re out of stock again. Apparently they were only in stock for 5 minutes before selling out so I have to wait for a month for a replacement

Called support, they ordered me a replacement part. 2 weeks later, no part so I email support who tells me it is back ordered with no eta. So I call support again for another solution. This time you have requested I ship my entire faulty vacuum back to you and you will only ship me a replacement AFTER inspecting the original. So yay... thank you!!!! It's going to be a month before I might have a working vacuum meanwhile you have my $999. Great!

So far, I’m the happiest with this turquoise/gold combo out of all of their other color options! My least favorite is all that purple on Dyson products. That to me is hideous, but that’s just a personal opinion. 😊

I think it took too long that Dyson has invented this perfect model. I am unhappy because after paying a fortune for V6 animal pro at the time it was released, almost in 7 years, they have just developped the basic cons of this machine and now almost at the same price you buy the optimum model. This is not a mobile phone that you could change annually. We buy a vacuum cleaner to use for a long time. I don't understand and associate this marketing strategy with a world wide brand, Dyson. Anti tangle motor head, auto clean dust bin, lighter machine body and long life battery are not the technologies to be developped in many years after the first cordless was released. Sorry.
Wait you're upset that Dyson continued to innovate, come out with new products, and improve upon their existing products' weak points? Buying a new vacuum every 8 years shouldn't be a big deal. Right now, the V15 Detect can be found for about $700 after tax. That's less than $100 a year, about $8 a month. And, you probably don't need the top of the line; a V11 would likely be fine.
Does your v6 still work? Based on your statement, I'm assuming it does, so where's the problem? Would you rather Dyson cheap out on all the parts and construction where you *NEED* to replace it every year or two because it broke? Your complaint is literally that, "My 7 year old product still works, but it's not the latest and greatest!"

What happens if you don't fully charge before first use
It's important to fully charge the machine before using it for the first time, and after every clean. This helps to improve the algorithm's accuracy.
