Lexus GX460 Infotainment Upgrade to Include Carplay, Android Auto, Google Maps, Spotify, iHeartRadio

The OEM infotainment/stereo/navigation system in the 2013-2021 Lexus GX460 lacks many modern features. As a result, I upgraded the system. Retaining the original OEM screen, I connected a new multimedia unit. See links below. The job required temporary removal of a number of panels and connection of new wiring harnesses/cables to OEM connectors. The final result is incredibly clean and appears to be a factory installation. The total time to complete the job was less than two hours, even without prior experience. My vehicle now includes Carplay and Android Auto. Apps run seamlessly from my cell phone, including Spotify, Google Maps, iHeartRadio, Waze, Whatsapp, Phone, and many more! Also, the system allows me to easily return to the original OEM features (Nav, radio, climate control, settings etc.). Android and Apple devices are compatible.
