    Thanks. I have run out of salad fixings, and I wondered about butternut squash. I will be shredding some tonight and make slaw with the usual dressing and blue berries of cranberries. My concern was that it would not give digestion issues.

    I will make raw salad the Indian way. Pop some mustard seeds in little oil, add green chili’s, sesame seeds turmeric, salt add shredded BNS stir and sauté for 2 minutes. Add lemon.😊

    That's new. There's absolutely no reason not to have it raw. I eat a little while cutting it up but never thought to do that. Yum . First I've gotta use up this random free pumpkin then I'll get a butternut and try at least one of these recipes. Thanks

      Countrymouse Farmhouse I hope you do! Let us know what you think, in my nearly two decades of kitchen work I'd somehow never tried it. But oh my it's good. How you gonna use that pumpkin? I am always a soup fan with toasted pumpkin seeds but lots of potential there.

      It looks like they picked it under ripe so I'll bake it with some herbs and seasoning in chicken fat. Can't help but be tasty then. Waste not want not. 😀

    Pretty good for a non raw foodist. Those of us who eat mostly raw would eat "that little bit" x 100! WE'd eat enough for "that little bit" to be the main part of the meal.
