    CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Jonathan (Charles Grodin) and Jack (Robert De Niro) have a discussion about denial and how it has effected both of their lives.
    FILM DESCRIPTION:
Director Martin Brest, of Going in Style and Beverly Hills Cop fame, was in charge of Midnight Run. Robert De Niro stars as Jack Walsh, a hard-bitten bounty hunter offered $100,000 to bring in embezzler Jonathan Mardukas (Charles Grodin). Handcuffed to the wimpy Mardukas, Walsh assumes that the extradition trip from New York to Los Angeles will be an uneventful one. But the prisoner hasn't told Walsh the whole story: the embezzler owes $15 million to a mobster (Dennis Farina), and he's been targeted for assassination. It's a toss-up as to what is the most entertaining aspect of Midnight Run: the slam-bang action and chase sequences or the verbal byplay between DeNiro and Grodin.
    CREDITS:

Cast: Robert De Niro, Charles Grodin
    Director: Martin Brest
Producers: Martin Brest, William S. Gilmore, Dan York

DeNiros sarcastic potty mouth along with Grodins dry (and sarcastic) timing. All the other characters added to this AWESOME film! Great writing, timing, the music.... EVERYTHING! Some of the best dialogue you will find in a movie script delivered but two masters of their art. If there was any justice, there would have been Oscar nominations. I just learned that Yaphet Kotto and Charles Grodin have recently left us. This is a very sad evening for me. Always loved Yaphet since I first saw him as a boy in Live And Let Die., That man had incredible screen presence, was talented way beyond the awards that he received.
Grodin had immaculate comedy timing and that ability to be very smug but likeable at the same time. These scenes with De Niro were always magic for me, now I see them as priceless cinema comedy. Enjoy your chorizo and eggs Duke.

Who ever casted these two in the leads is a genius. The chemistry between De Niro and Grodin makes the movie. The acting is top notch.

What an excellent actor that will be immortalized in film and tv. Rest in Peace sir.

True Story: I was looking up Charlie Chaplin movies on UA-cam this evening and one of the suggested videos was of Charles Grodin on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I found the Carson appearance so funny that I had to look him up on IMDB, and discovered that he passed away just a couple of weeks ago at the age of 86. When I looked up his obituary online, I noticed almost all of them mentioned the movie Midnight Run. I've NEVER seen the movie before. Yet, at age 15, I happened to be the "right" caller on a radio station here in Orlando, FL (which was probably 105.9fm, if I recall correctly), and I won 2 tickets to the premier of that movie... which I gave to my parents. (I'm about to turn 49). That was pretty cool for a 15 year old kid (who had zero money) to give their parents... a date night. I remember them coming home that evening and telling me what a wonderful time they had and how good the movie was. Well, my parents are celebrating their 57th wedding anniversary tonight and are in the car on their way to dinner at this moment. I plan on watching Midnight Run before the week is out.
