Before his film career, Farina served three years in Vietnam and eighteen years in Chicago's Police Department. His acting was always on the mark. I was a big fan of Crime Story, ( 1986 - '88. ) He could be comical and turn malevolent at the drop of a hat. Gone too soon.
My cousin Lynette Bernay was Michael Mann’s costumer. She came to Chicago (where I grew up) to work on Crime Story but is better known for her work on Miami Vice. She loved working with Dennis Farina.
Right down the lineup. Pants, Kotto, even John Ashton calling him "whipdick" lmao The 2 goons, Phillip Baker Hall, it's a ridiculous job done by everyone.
Yeah why are all awesome veterans we know from the past that is legendary and special dying to their death's eh, Dennis is easy to let go although not for Grodin and Kotto.
Somehow the fact that Jimmy doesn't drop one "F" bomb during the scene in the car where he tells the Duke he's going to kill him adds an extra level of fear for me. It makes him seem deadly serious to me after hearing him say "f--k" throughout the whole movie. Well that and the fact that Dennis Farina is an amazing actor.
RIP Mr. Farina. Criminally underrated actor, cool guy and a king of delivering one liners. How hes dead and Jamie Kennedy still walks the earth is fucking beyond me.
0:30 - That sweater was the perfect choice by the wardrobe designer for this scene. Farina's character is so stressed out by all the incompetence around him, his guts are all tied in a knot.
Tyler, please don't take this the wrong way, it's not a creepy thing at all...but, I LOVE YOU MAN! This made my day today, and it has reminded me of just how much I love this film, what a great adventure, filled with epic lines from all of the characters...and Jimmy Serrano is one of the best. Thanks brother.
dennis farina in this film and in 'get shorty' are 2 of the funniest film characters in history.virtually every time he was on screen in those 2 films i was smiling or laughing. RIP dennis.you will be sadly missed by me and many others
I can't say enough about how "Kick Ass" of an actor Dennis Farina was. I don't care what tabloids say or any of that bullshit. He was THE REAL DEAL, when it came to acting. His role here in Midnight Run was one of many "Outstanding" performances. I liked when he took over Unsolved Mysteries. RIP Dennis " The Bad Ass" Farina. Too many, an ideal father figure. We loved you and we'll miss you buddy.
As "Carl" in "Thief," and ESPECIALLY as Mike Torello in "Crime Story," Dennis Farina had my attention. He's from my wife's hometown, and that endeard me to him. "Crime Story" was the clincher for me, though. He was GREAT. But Dennis Farina didn't look well to me in a recent TC commercial. I even made mention of that- "He looks like he's DYING......" I HATE it when I'm right, for the WRONG reason. Rest In Peace, Dennis Farina...........We miss you already.
In honor of Dennis Farina, I'm going to have a sandwich, drink a glass of milk and then do some fucking thing.
And a cream soda.
Haaaaa that comment made my week that u wrote lol
I'm pleased to give you the100th 'like' for this excellent comment.
seriously, go have a sandwich, drink a glass of milk, do some fucking thing
When he tells Sydney to relax have a cream soda I lose it every time😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

An all time flawless comedy classic. Farina is brilliant as Jimmy Serrano. Then again, the whole cast hits it out of the park.
I remember when I could talk tough and my M M ALLOWED ME TO USE THE F WORD #GET IT
Jack put the cigarette out. Put the cigarette out. Put the cigarette out.
I’m saying if I were your accountant. If I were.

10/10 A + lol

71 likes, 6 years,.......its chili outside youtube its chili inside its a regular fuckin chili fest
and RIP charled grodin
"Sidney sit down, relax. Have a sandwich, drink a glass of milk Do some fucking thing" my favorite line from the movie😂😂
The part where Moron Number 1 keeps taking shots at Moron Number 2 while he's on the pay phone gets me every time!
😂😂. Those guys were great. "He ain't mad at me, is he?"
my first time watching this movie now, i'm dying
Funniest when the guy on the phone is trying to kick him back, lol!
@@FGame2star Better late than never! 😁
Understated idiocy. 🤣🤣🤣
this movie never. gets. old. EVER!!
A classic
I’ve watched this movie 10 times. On another video someone said that he’d watched this movie 50 times!!
My all time favourtie movie and I can still quote every one of his lines. He will be missed! RIP Dennis
"If [Walsh] is that good, maybe I should hire HIM to hit YOU." Gotta love it.
RIP Grodin, RIP Koto, RIP Farina. Where have all the good actors gone?
Yeah why are all awesome veterans we know from the past that is legendary and special dying to their death's eh, Dennis is easy to let go although not for Grodin and Kotto.
One of my favourite films. And I sorely miss Dennis Farina.
Serrano's got the disk....Serrano's got the disk.
"Sidney relax have cream soda" lmao
Great line to use on people in everyday life
"Have a sandwich drink a glass of milk, do some-fking-thing will ya?" 😂😂😂
"sidney shut your fucking mouth" 😂
Ever since I first saw this movie, I've threatened to bury more things in more people's heads and hearts.
One of the many great things about this film. The guy has so many great lines but is still a genuinely threatening villain.
In honor of Jimmy Serrano, I think I’m gonna go have a sandwich, drink a glass of milk, and do some fucking thing.
Lmao !! RIP Dennis Farina
Love it!! Loved him in Law and Order too. RIP Dennis♡
Carl Bonroy so what fucking thing did you end up doing?😂😂
The "some fucking thing" bit is my favorite line in the whole movie (and I love every line in the movie).
he makes food sound so good, a cream soda, a sandwich and a glass of milk, a nice hot meal...
Lol every time I watch that scene I want a sandwich!
It’s a law of physics: watch mob movies, gain weight.
Imagine the food and beverages at his parties
Dennis Farina died just one month after James Gandolfini and sadly the two never been in a movie together.
@Ad Bad Oh yes, thanks, forgot about that one. But they didn't share a scene together.
Dennis farina would of been amazing in the sopranos.
Get shorty
One of my favorite movies ever! I'll often randomly burst out with "Serrano's got the disks! Serrano's got the disks!" RIP Dennis.
Ive yelled it at that very terminal area at McCarran more than once
Did you know Dennis Farina was a real Chicago Police Officer. Great Film !
That's why he knew how to play a scumbag on TV and in the movies.
No wonder why he looked 10 years older all that stress for 18 years being a police officer.
SHUT UP! I can’t believe it! My fav film for over 30 yrs now!!!!
Make sense why his character on Law and Order was from Chicago
He was a technical advisor when they made Heat.
RIP Dennis Farina and Charles Grodin. Thank you for the laughs. You folks are missed.
RIP Dennis Farina and Charles Grodin
I love how he always told Sidney to eat or drink something. Lol
Have a Peanut Butter Sandwitch and a GLASS OF MILK 3
A Floyd Gondoli Production.
true chicagoan, through and through.
I would have nominated him for Best Supporting Actor he was that god in this role. Pure gangster.
Dennis Farina and Frank Vincent were two of the best ever ! I can't believe they aren't with us anymore
My favourite film of all time.
RIP. A great actor.
He was as good as any character on the Sopranos
he would haven been epic in the sopranos
@@yanicyoda4762 he never had the makings of a varsity shinebox
Casting for this movie is perfect perfect perfect.
Somehow the fact that Jimmy doesn't drop one "F" bomb during the scene in the car where he tells the Duke he's going to kill him adds an extra level of fear for me. I'm having a cream soda for him right now. Rest in peace and Go Cubs.
That cup of milk and sandwich line was my favourite 😂
Dennis Farina is simply awesome, taken way too early, wonderful actor RIP.
Great Film That Stands The Test Of Time!!😎👍
RIP Mr. Farina. Criminally underrated actor, cool guy and a king of delivering one liners. How hes dead and Jamie Kennedy still walks the earth is fucking beyond me.
RIP Dennis Farina. Fine actor, you'll truly be missed.
“Do ya got the discs or did you lose them like you lost your job?”
Farina was such a savage lmao
Raked bobby over the coals.
One of if not the greatest threateners in the history of movies
“Is this moron # 1?”
“Yeah, this is me.”
Ok, put moron nr.2 on the phone!!!
Stole every scene he was in, but the whole cast was great, Marty Brest wow what a great director, so underrated,
Until Gigli happened lol
@tdevil101 yes how unfortunate.
The play fight in the phone booth is comedy gold in all its simplicity.
For all the typecasting he got in his career, he was a much finer actor than many of his co-stars. I wish I could have seen him on stage.
RIP Dennis Farina, I met him once in Arizona, he was a nice man.
Dennis was a great actor, RIP
That phone booth scene cracks me up.
One of the best actors around and one of my favorites. Such a loss. RIP Dennis!
"Don't say a fucking word to me or I'll get up and I'll bury this telephone in your head"
I use this line all the time when my wife pisses me off.
Charming!
ohh my!!! lol
Happy birthday Dennis! Born February 29, 1944, RIP.
"Don't say a word to me, Sidney, don't say a bleepin' word, or I'll get up and bury this telephone in your bleepin' head ..."
You can say fucking you know
This film is my guilty pleasure.
No need to feel guilty. This movie is the best of its kind and is endlessly rewatchable despite being 35 years old.
Dennis Farina was a great actor n sexy as HELL RIP!!!
0:30 - That sweater was the perfect choice by the wardrobe designer for this scene. Farina's character is so stressed out by all the incompetence around him, his guts are all tied in a knot.

When I was a kid I saw Dennis Farina eating breakfast at a Wags in Chicago..
