I feed my dogs real food no kibble . Brush their teeth daily . Clean the ears weekly . I bath once and a while baby shampoo & carefully to not dry skin out . They love outdoors .
I'd be mad if you'd put vinegar in my hair as well lol. But I saw your explanation and I think it's great, natural and in diluted form. Great advice on the brush as well, indeed very little hair. I love this breed, they always make me laugh lol When Bonbon went wild on the towel I laughed so hard. Great video.
My peke's hair is like Bonbon's. Such a magical coat he has but it's been getting matted way to quick now especially on his bum and behind the ears. We tried washing him and combing him out but no luck lots of suds got stuck in the matting. Our last resort is the groomer to shave him but the finances are not as great now. Is there anyway to help with his hair, he is quite fine with it happy as ever but it's not a good look on him.
Hello there! We shave Bonbon's back when she starts shedding, and it helps. We never take them to the salon, we do it ourselves. We bought the machine and we also use scissors. The hair grows back very quickly. Be careful with the food, it affects the fur. We give them grain free, rich granules. I remember Lulu had some fur problems many years ago when he was getting granules that were not suitable...
@@danicalifestyle Thank you so much for the reply, I suspected it was the food because we're not buying their proper food anymore, actually they've been eating my shepherd's food which is completely different from what they used to eat (again covid financial problems lol). Thank you for the additional tips too, will definitely invest in a machine/proper scissors for them once our finances are stable again. Over this weekend I'll get some money together to put them back on their former food, they had no hair problems on that food
@@RedHatClub I understand the situation, pekes are very demanding dogs and it's not easy to keep all their needs satisfied! But I noticed that rice and generally grains are not so good for their fur... A machine doesn't have to be anything fancy, but I find it is much easier and less expensive to have the machine or simply cut the hair with normal scissors and that's it... Their fur grows back very quickly so even if you don't like how it looks like, it will change very quickly :) And I made this video particularly because I wanted to show that they don't need expensive shampoos, just showering and vinegar and that's it :) Once a week :) Fingers crossed!
@@danicalifestyle Thank you for understanding, sorry for putting you on the spot because my comment is far off from you video lol. Will definitely try your method of washing them because like my original comment the suds of the shampoo gets stuck in the fur. I looked at the dog food packaging now and it's full of rice and grain and I can see now why that's a problem on the fur. Thank you so much for your replies, gave me and my family some hope in tackling their fur. Hopefully after the 1st deep maintenance of their fur follow ups afterwards on it will be a breeze
I have a Pekechon but he’s basically a Peke! Behaves totally the same as yours. Same long straight coat! Can i ask why you used vinegar? Did you not shampoo them? Sorry just curious. Thanks for the video... super cute fur babies x
Hi there! We keep their fur shampoo free because they actually don’t need it, it’s better for their skin and it keeps their coat as natural as possible. We use vinegar as it is a natural softener (conditioner) and it protects them from fleas. It can be used as a flea repellent as well. Greetings from Sydney!
Aside from vinegar, what else do you use in cleaning the fur of your peke, because we have peke but some suggested dishwashing liquid. What do you think about it
Yeah they have long coats, but my dog is just a 9 month old Pekingese and Terrier mix puppy and it doesn't have much coat or fur like your dog. But whatever, still need to take car of their long furs. 😂 My puppy's fur is growing longer day by day. 😅
Yeah, it doesn't matter how long the fur is, you need to take care of it in order to be beautiful and clean :) I'm sure your dog is a cutie! Send a picture if you can :)
Pekes are among the most difficult breeds to train! You have to be very patient if you want to train them, use the treats for good behaviour, and don't give up! Repeat million times and show him/her where to pee repeating the same words, and the best thing is to form some kind of habit. For example, we tell them to go pee on the balcony every time we come in the apartment.
They are very stubborn! They like to do what they want 😆 It’s in their nature, but it does get better with daily training. My Pekingese is older now, and I was able to train him on my own. Now with UA-cam you have so many trainer videos that really help. Victoria Stilwell is an amazing trainer. I found her videos here
Love to see a peke with a thick, long coat like mine has!
Love this! Our Max us the best dog ever! What personality they have!

@@danicalifestyle Why the Vinegar ?
@@PrettyGoodLookin It makes the fur soft :)
