@@undercover_matin it is not mate in classic cuban mojito they use half lime + half water mixture and granulated sugar not sugar syrup. And they not use mineral water top up.
@@daronmusic2000 you are right about the sugar, I didn't noticed that. But where I am from, classical mojitos are prepared with mineral water all the time, maybe I've been living a lie.

Tbh im just comparing different ways of this cocktail. There is no right or wrong. Maybe there is an original, but today we have too many variations to say which is the right one.

Batmanouche Thanks, yes, in our county its good ratio, because our people really like sweetness. So it,s almost 1:1 btw sweet and sour, but however a little bit of sourness more.
I used to work at a restaurant as bartender and this cocktail was part of the menu but... I never put mineral water on it, instead I was using lemon soda all the time, now I work in a casino :( and there's no more cocktails, only freaking beer

Bruh ... Why u not muddle lime,simple syrup and mint leaves together??? And the last ingredients its sparkling water / soda right
Glfransiskus I believe bartenders realized that muddling mint easily releases a swampy profile along with the mint so to prevent that they skip the muddle and either just shake it with ice or build it the way shown here.

I respect the way you make your mojito but I wanna cry, I live in Puerto Rico from where the bacardi rum is made and distributed and it is not a recipe for how to make a classic mojito 😭
Original Mojito Is a cuban cocktail, was made in bodeguita del medio bar in Havana Cuba. And Bacardi family Made this rum first in Cuba.

how do bartenders not get drunk if they make so much drinks and have to try every one
its just a tiny bit of liquid, hence why you use the spoon or a straw.
When I did my professional bartender course we had a whisky lesson in the morning and I decided to just put the glass in my mouth to taste every cocktail and whisky, needless to say I was a bit tipsy by lunch heh
you don't need to try every drink you make, but we tried a lot but somehow we don't get drunk maybe tipsy sometimes. ^^

He is using simple syrup instead of brown sugar, its not usal but does the job, i prefere to use one brown sugar cube at the beginning, smash it with the lime juice and mints and add just a dash of simple syrup at the end aswell so there is enough time for the one sugar cube so completely dissolve.

Andrés Camilo soda is optional. Classic mohito not contain soda. Just rum, lime, sugar and crushed ice in a glass taller than rock glass but shorter than collin glass.
That's a classic daiquiri recipe that would get served in a coup glass. The soda water and mint are what take a daiquiri and turn it into a mojito

BLVNCO soda is water with carbonation added. Naturally carbonated (sparkling) water from springs contains minerals from rocks.
soda water company’s add minerals all the time. Using sparkling mineral water is probably more authentic than you think.

You dont use gold rum..because it more harsh..white rum is the perfect mixing rum for cocktails and its smooth in taste...
You bash the mint in order to activate its aromas...if you squize it in your hand propably you ll get nasty oils out of it...
Good point on the lime inside it does give a bad taste in the drink espacialy if you churn it while mudling...
But man...dont use mineral waterm..ice is water anyway...refresh it...top it with soda..

First of all the classic mojito is not that, classic goes with chopped lime brown sugar mint leavs squezed then crushed ice then pour soda and rum, i like adding lime siroup and fanta lemon or sprite gives the mojito just that thing its missing
