New to this channel because I just found out there's a ton of fresh mint growing in my garden, and the videos are amazing, but the fan base is even better. Looking through the comments all I see is comments about the "shake and smile" and I have to say, after watching the video I see what the hype is about man! I've never seen anyone that happy shaking a drink! Thanks for reaching me how to make a mojito! I'll be trying my first one ever today!
I know a lot of people enjoy the different flavors and I love pineapple and strawberries are a must for my household, yet I still go for the classic styled one's on most drink's. Many of these are real tempting. Thanks for the different types of drink blend's.
Mojitos are my signature drink for my 25th birthday coming up. Really cool to see different ones so I can add a little variety. As always awesome vid Steve!
Yeah I feel good to hear that our Jamaican products are all over the world. Jamaican in the house. You should visit here sometime I can show you around.
I have a question which I have heard people debate a lot. Why do you not shake (at least quick shake) a mojito? They say the general rule is to shake anything with citrus, so why the exception?
Steve just a FYI the cuban-made Havana club is not available in the USA. We have it here in Brazil. I think that there is a US version made in the USA or Puerto Rico of the same rum. The Bacardi family left Cuba during the revolution and settled in Puerto Rico where it is made even still.
Never had a mojito and quite frankly dont have the money to buy the ingredients in the majority of your vids but they're so well put together that they're fun to watch.
@@StevetheBartender_ being only 22 and starting to make my own mixed drinks, I love your channel because of the way you get to the point with your info. P.s. my girlfriend hasnt figured out where my mid-shake grin is from yet😂🤔
My gosh, that Stygian Mojito would be a real taste journey with Blackstrap and Menta. Oddly, I have seen Menta here in Canada, and I already have a bottle of Blackstrap. That one and the Green Chartreuse sound stunning.
Thank you for this wonderful inspiration for hot summer refreshment, especially numbers three and five. I have to find some replacement for Fernet Branca, though.
Read up (books and blogs), ask a lot of questions (online, at a bar, etc) and practice (try techniques, mix drinks, try spirits, work with flavours).. here’s a big list of links that you should find useful: stevethebartender.com.au/links-resources
Find a nice bar and start sitting an watching. After a few days/weeks (or hours?) start talking to the staff. Never ever stand in their way! Just watch and if there is time start a conversation.
I want to make the strawberry mojito but I want to make a big batch of it for this sunday. (Super bowl sunday) and was wondering how you would make a big batch of this.
You could do it two ways... 1) batch everything (except soda) into a large vessel, store in the fridge, add ice and soda (as guests arrive). Super easy but it will dilute and lose effervescence if it’s not drunk relatively quickly. The key would be to prechill to avoid extra dilution when adding the ice. 2) batch everything (except soda) into bottles. Measure into glass, add ice, soda and garnish. This would be my preferred method and is still very quick but does require someone to make the drinks. It really depends on how many people you are catering for...
@@StevetheBartender_ honestly it's probably going to be around 10 people but I'll forsure make it the first method you gave me becuase I would be the one to make the drinks if I did it the second method BUT I still want to watch the game aha thanks steve! Cheers🍻 and if you ever come out to visit California (LA Area) I would be stoked if you did a meet and greet.

We all love the shake & smile, but give Steve some credit for that mint slap & smirk!
I'm so glad you went back and tasted the drinks. I hope you finished them all mate.
Well done, another great video (as always).
Awesome line up. I love a Mojito or 5 on a hot day. Garden party here I come.
Can't go wrong with a good mojito. Especially this time of year. Cheers!
I'm just here for that smile he makes when shaking the mixer.
I know right best part of the video!

Good tip on the mint muddling! I had no idea
I like your instructions on alcohol mix easy step and very understand.
you give me smile while you are shaking, then I give you smile too from Japan! Anyway, great video!!
Thanks EXY! Many smiles to Japan! 😁😁😁
Speaking of spiced rum, I soak mine in raisins for a week or so (or longer) which makes the most tasty, spiced rum/raisin infused liqueur.
I like the sound of that!
@@StevetheBartender_, let me know if you try it because I'd love to see what you do with it.
I planted a mint plant this spring solely to make mojitos with, and I'm glad it's grown up so I can try all these recipes!
These are quite easy Steve. 3 ingredient cocktail territory. Respect for another great vid
Thanks Dr Spirit! 🙌
I have a question which I have heard people debate a lot. Why do you not shake (at least quick shake) a mojito? They say the general rule is to shake anything with citrus, so why the exception?
I think you achieve enough dilution without shaking, a little stirring to combine and the soda water. Test and compare, if you like.
Very nice drinks, great presentations, thank you
The smile he gives when he’s shaking the cocktails 🍹 😍

Yep, I’m aware 👍
Ps, in the US (at least in the south)we also call it (club) soda (or soda water), never hear seltzer though
I love all of your videos! Using your methods has made happy hour soooo much more enjoyable.
I don't like Mojito's anymore because he doesn't shake them and we're missing out on the shake 'n grin because of that :(
He does it at 10:12?
It's not a quality video until that patented 1000 watt smile makes an appearance.
Il begin making a compilation of all the shakes with smiles
Haha I should have shaken them all 😂

For some reason there exists both club soda and seltzer in the US and I cannot nail down the difference between them.
I think club soda has sodium (salt) added and seltzer doesn’t
I love every bit of these

Nice! I was trying to steer clear of fruit flavoured daiquiris and make some more unique variations 😁
Steve the Bartender you have succeeded!
Where do you get the cute little bottles that the simple syrup is in? I would like to have some of those.
