I appreciate all the info you guys shared. I just gave an Android Headunit a shot and see how long they last. I had to make a bit of a custom harness to get the amps out of there. I plan on getting speaker replacements in the next few weeks. Your step by step process saved me a ton of time. Keep up the great work guys!
Thanks guys! Started my 02 this past weekend. These 3 videos have made it a breeze. I only get 3 or 4 hours a weekend to work on it. So it might take a few weeks. I re-pinned the izusu harnesses and bypassed the factory amps, and made that harness. Next weekend is speaker install! I went with the avh-601ex. 6.5 Memphis components on a "1000" watt AB 4 channel. Sub and amp to come.
Absolutely great video. You guys are knowledgeable. Very knowledgeable and I commend you. Way too much for me. When my fronts went bad I bought the $30 repair kit from simply speakers. An hour or two later I was back in business.
Nice, detailed install once again! Changed my 2001 Sequoia JBL system with a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX, RF P400X4 and P300X1 amps (under front seats), JBL component and coax speakers for the doors and a JL Stealthbox. Sounds really good but one thing I didn't like was the antenna going up whenever the HU is on. I added a switch for turning on the antenna. My CarPlay and Android Auto USB terminals are in the small compartment below the ashtray - if facing up, I'm sure things will get in them.
Forget it!! I wanted to do it myself in tundra 2006. But it is to much knowledge, work, patience and passion....let know your address so i can take my truck to you guys the pros...👍 great job!!
Hello sir i m from India Fan of ur work and farnado's too i have question about jeep compass 2018 if u willing to tell that if i install after market speaker in front with 4 channel line out converter its work but when i change speaker in rear all system shuts down ..No Sound and when i put oem rear back its works normal whats the issue can u explain in details pls.
friend of mine has the p300 12 sometimes it will make a low buzzing sound by itself with the car off it is set to audio on the turn on. someone at work walked pass it in the parking lot and said they heard it🤣. any thoughts?
Mine are all broken... i bought some off a wrecked 1 some dude online sent me on way worse shape than mine ...the aftermarket kinda sucks on those it's not existent
Roberto Arteaga I did one of those a couple weeks ago at work. My work around is to run power, accy. Ground, and 2 data wires to a location where you can relocate the factory radio. It’s sucks but it’s what has to happen because as far as I know there’s nothing that replicates that factory turn on as it is data not regular 12v
@@connorpennington2469 the exact answer I was expecting but not hoping for. Or I can install an aftermarket screen big enough to cover the hole left by the factory unit. Hmm
I don’t have a Toyota, I just happened on your video. Nice install and cable building/wire testing. Question: does replacing a stock HU with an aftermarket cause you to lose steering wheel volume control and station changing ability? I have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline with Nav and sunroof.
I changed the stereo on my honda pilot and that gave me the false sense of confidence to change it on my sequoia, and boy was I wrong. I hate my sequoia
The new media players don’t have that area for the nipples ( grind them off and then test fit, test fit, test fit). I hate those smaller stereo. They are a pain to mount. Thats the hardest part of the job. Poor design by all the manufacturers
I just finished my 04 Sequoia - You guys sure do make it look easy. took me quite a while to finish it up with my limited time.

I just bought an 02 sequoia w JBL. This helps tremendously. The wiring harness and power antenna tips are gonna save me hours. Thanks guys!

Great video. Very detailed. I'm going to start on mine soon. I have an '05 with steering controls. Are the aftermarket kits plug-n-play?

You need a load resistor on the output of the radio when adding a high to low. Get these

Thanx Dean all done
Hi guys, how did you handle the diversity antenna hook-up?
friend of mine has the p300 12 sometimes it will make a low buzzing sound by itself with the car off it is set to audio on the turn on.

Try switching it to Dc offset or run a remote wire.
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc thanks guys we will try that.
